Thanks to our Lord for the expository teaching skills of Pastors like Mr. Baucham- it's immeasurably more enriching than all the charismatic antics and hollow theology that is unfortunately the hallmark of much of evangelical Christianity today. I could listen to Mr. Baucham's teachings all day- and quite often I DO

I am convinced that no nation can be or remain Godly nation forever. They all fall eventually. We need Him to bring us to HIS kingdom that isn't on earth.

Voddie's comments about hell and us not needing vengeance here got me thinking. What if our persecutors repent? How will we be avenged? Because I know that even when already in heaven, the saints desire to be avenged: Revelation 6:10...

Something I've noticed..a baby often cries while Pst Voddie preaches....over the years I noticed that. My point is sometimes, parents need to stop bringing babies when the sermon is long. Everybody loses at the end part of the teaching... I say it not to rebuke you but to encourage you to take the wisest decision regarding bringing babies along. God bless.

Kay, we are a family integrated church and we encourage people to bring their children into the service. We don't offer neither children's church or a nursery. You are hearing children learning how to gather amongst the saints for worship on the Lord's Day. Honestly you may be hearing some of my children since I have four children under five when this sermon was being preached :)

Dan. 2, and the Metal Man image:
Head of Gold = Babylonian Empire (605-539 BC).
Chest and Arms of Silver = Medo-Persian Empire (539-331 BC).
Belly and Thighs of Bronze = Grecian Empire (331-168 BC).
Legs of Iron = Roman Empire (168 BC-476 AD).
Feet and Toes of Iron mixed with Clay = Fall of the Roman Empire (476 AD) all the way up until:
Stone Cut without Human Hands = The 2nd Advent of Christ (not the 1st Advent, since the 1st Advent happened in the early 1st Century AD; the Roman Empire continued until that latter part of the 5th Century AD).
Yep, the 2nd Advent is very important to study, biblically.
Dan. 2 provides the Template of Bible Prophecy.
Dan. 7 will fill in some more details, and will include the first descriptions of Antichrist (the "little horn") in all of Scripture, and includes Antichrist's 1,260 YEAR reign.
That's why the "feet of iron and clay" has lasted so long compared to the preceding Empires.
    Questions?
    Let me know.
    *Soli Deo Gloria*

The idea that God would torture people in a fiery hell is absurd. There is no example of God ever torturing anyone in the Holy Bible. When He meets out justice, that justice is death-----and a quick one at that.

except that it does say forever:
9 And another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he also will drink the wine of God’s wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.”
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2016), Re 14:9-11.
11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. 13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. 14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2016), Re 20:11-15.
47 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was thrown into the sea and gathered fish of every kind. 48 When it was full, men drew it ashore and sat down and sorted the good into containers but threw away the bad. 49 So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come out and separate the evil from the righteous 50 and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2016), Mt 13:47-50.
42 “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea. 43 And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire. 45 And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into hell. 47 And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, 48 ‘where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’ 49 For everyone will be salted with fire. 50 Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, how will you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.”
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2016), Mk 9:42-50.

@@gfbc1689 Thank you for a reply. Jesus spoke in parables which of course are stories and lessons to learn from; and Revelation, as John said himself, is in signs or symbols. Eternal fire is a symbol for eternal death not eternal torture. God is love and His love executes perfect justice, and that justice is capitol punishment---not eternal suffering. Eternal damnation is eternal death. Christ Himself went to hell for three days, the three days He was DEAD.

    • @sishrac
      @sishrac ปีที่แล้ว

If it's true that hell = death = oblivion, then many who are tired of this life that welcome death would be justified in their desire to exit. But that would belittle the sacrifice of Christ. I believe the fact that it had to take the Son of God to redeem human souls is argument enough for hell = eternal consciousness in torment.
