  • The Law of God in the Light of the Kingdom l Voddie Baucham
    Matthew 5:17-20
    Christians constantly wrestle with the question of the Law of God. Is the Law relevant to the Christian? What laws must I keep? Where does legalism come into play?
    Matthew 5:17-20 is the key to understanding the Law of God in light of the reality of the Kingdom. The Law of God is perfect, timeless, relevant, and yet insufficient to save. Grasping these truths transforms the way we view the Law.

    Revelation 14:12
    And here's the patience of the saints, those who obey the commandments of God and having the faith OF Jesus.
    Notice it's not just faith in Jesus

      Right. James 2:24 refutes faith only as Paul says concerning his argument when using abraham.
      James says abraham was justified by works too.

    Psalm 19:7-11
    The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul;
    The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple;
    The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart;
    The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes;
    The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever;
    The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
    More to be desired are they than gold,
    Yea, than much fine gold;
    Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
    Moreover by them Your servant is warned,
    And in keeping them there is great reward.
    Jeremiah 31:31-34
    “Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah-
    “not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them,fn says the LORD.
    “But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
    “No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
    1 John 2:3-4
    Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
    He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
    Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
    Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
    Fear God and keep His commandments,
    For this is man’s all.
    For God will bring every work into judgment,
    Including every secret thing,
    Whether good or evil.

    Because of Yeshuah, following the Torah isn’t about salvation, but the fruit of salvation.

    So this sermon has opened a facet of my life I feel ashamed it took so long to understand. That the whole of the Bible is a unified presentation. That the Old Testament is not separate propositions on the left of the Bible from the New testament on the right side of the Bible. Thank you for putting words out for God to use to continue to fill in my understanding of him and his word. Thank you for putting out this sermon series for consumption beyond the walls of your fellowship.

      One can keep laws of the land, laws/rules regarding their jobs, but when it comes to obeying the Creators Laws, we can't do that?! Yet, these are the same lukewarm doubleminded believers who say, "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me."

    Voddie Baucham. Is there any way Sir for the video to be louder because when the ads come on they are so very loud. I can’t sleep so I listen to your videos at night and it’s just awful when an ad comes I. I know this seems so minor but I really need to hear the Lords word when I’m trying to get to sleep. @GFBC1689 So this means we keep the sabbath and do no work on Saturday, wear tassels with blue thread, keep the feasts of the God, eat clean food according to Lev 11, etc.?

    • @UntoEternalLight
      @UntoEternalLight 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Voddie Baucham wouldn't say so, but yes, absolutely. The sabbath is a blessing; the tassels are a reminder that you belong to God and follow His ways (His laws) instead of the worlds; the feasts are a celebration of our covenant with God, His righteousness, and our salvation in Him through the work of Christ; the dietary instructions are like the Creator's guide for what to eat and how to handle it (e.g. disposing of food/water containers contaminated by rodents), and there are good reasons outside of the Bible to consider abstaining from various animals not on that list as well.
      None of these things can offer the atonement we have in Christ, but they are still beneficial as His followers and a blessing to those who keep them. God bless :)

    I need some help further explaining please!
    What is the Law of God? Are they the 10 commandments? Doesn't the 4th commandment say to Keep the 7th day Holy? And Not the 1st day of the week? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️
    So I'm I breaking God's law if I worship on the 1st day of the week?
    Can please explain to me?

    • @Andrea-hf8hl
      @Andrea-hf8hl ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes that is God's Law being summed up. Jesus explained it even further. Supposedly there are 613 then the 10 are a sum of these together and as Jesus puts it.. This here sums it up to two. See how he says all the Law and the Prophets? And yes many people break God's 4th commandment by changing Sabbath to a different day but there are those who have not come to the right understanding. But when we do come to this knowledge we just need to repent and start keeping it the right way according to God's Law.
      Matthew 22:36-40
      “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
      Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
      “This is the first and great commandment.
      “And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
      “On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
      Also technically its not about worship because we should be worshipping him in all we do but as he says, to keep it Holy which means set it apart. It needs to be set apart from the rest of our week. Its also to be observed as a day of rest. I hope this helps you. I would like to share more if you are interested or if you have any more questions 😊. I love Sabbath, God is so gracious to us in letting us come to this understanding and for us to be able to observe it in our home.

      By the way since God's days start in the evening it is from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday..evening to evening. When most of the world is out and about in the world we set ourselves apart for rest and worship.

      Yes, we need to observe the real Sabbath because He is the Lord of the Sabbath. We can worship everyday, but observing the Sabbath should be set apart. Attend Sunday worship but also remember the Sabbath as commandment.

      Exodus 20,21 1, no other God's, 2, no graven images, 3, do not take the LORDS name in vain, 4, keep the sabbath, 5, honor thy mother and father, 6, do not murder, 7, do not commit adultery, 8, do not steal, 9, do not bear false witness against thy neighbor, 10, do not covet thy neighbors wife, house, ect. I hope this helps you. God bless you.

    John 4:24 4 God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
    Psalms 119:142 Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness; thy LAW is TRUTH.
    Revelations 12:17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the COMMANDMENTS of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
    Revelations 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who KEEP the COMMANDMENTS of God And the Faith of Jesus.
    Revelations 22:14 Blessed are those who DO His COMMANDMENTS, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter through the gates into the city.
    If you think under grace, you can freely disobey Gods commandments, "Shall you go on sinning so that grace may abound, heaven forbid Romans 6:1" You have a rude awakening! Messiah also said, "If you love me keep my commandments John 14:15
    The church theology and doctrine are cancer to believer's lives. They have thrown out the Law/Torah, replaced the Feasts of YHVH-Leviticus 23, with pagan feasts like christ-mass, ischtar-easter, Constantine's 321AD sun-worship-sunday, NONE OF THIS WAS KEPT NOR FOLLOWED BY BELIVERS IN THE Bible! When Messiah returns, the Real 7th Day Sabbath will continue and His Holy Days Isaiah 66, the Torah will be taught by Him from Mount Zion Isaiah 2 & Micah 4, and we will be judged by His Laws. Did you obey or think that because you have salvation, you can freely live in sin and disobey Gods commandments? Matthew 7:21-23 clearly shows many will say they prophesy, cast out demons, performed miracles, Messiah will tell them plainly, away from me, you workers of LAWLESNESS, i never knew you! I'd proceed with extreme caution if you think you do not have to obey God and His Holy Commandments! Are you following doctrines and theology or the Scriptures?

      Hello, can you please explain what Mishnan is?

    • @Andrea-hf8hl
      @Andrea-hf8hl ปีที่แล้ว

      @@natashap6633 its been around for a very long time. Its the oral tradition/s from the jews compiled together. A lot of different accounts of how they observed God's Laws and different understandings of how they should be keeping them. I cant say all the traditions are wrong but they are quite stringent. That may be the wrong word but thats the best way I can put it right now.

    • @irenedeely427
      @irenedeely427 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Natasha P mishnah is the rules added to God's law as recorded by Moses in the Torah by the Pharisees. These were such things as washing of hands and cups, distance for travel on Sabbath..etc. that Jesus challenged while upholding perfectly the Law of God. By Jesus example of not adding or taking anything away from the perfect law of God. The Mishnah is the oral law established by Jewish traditions as guardrails to God's law and became by tradition to be binding. Jesus set that corruption on its head.
