Totally! I think Chihiro felt like crying because Haku’s kindness in the rice ball reminded her of the happy life with her parents she had before coming to the god world.
Thank you so many for this deep conversation. I recently discovered your channel and enjoying so much. I haven’t watched “Spirited Away” yet but will definitely catch up. Wanted to say Hello and thank you from New York City 🍎
Wow, NO FACE analytics were eye-opening! He really is that salaryman’s emptiness & loneliness, and that of no identity with money mongering monster! It’s interesting Miyazaki depicts human ego as lovable monster, and that is the truth of human nature. I should re-watch them again… Thanks for this inspiring talk.👍🤯
Memorable Scene 1 Chihiro matures rapidly. On the train ride to the sixth station, she tells No-Face, " Behave yourself. OK?" Memorable Scene 2 In the final scene, the family returns to the real world through the tunnel and saw their dusty car. Chihiro's father: It’s all dusty inside, too. Memorable Scene 3: Kamaji, the boiler man, says “She (Chihiro) is my grand daughter”. +++++++++++++++ Q1:I wonder how long it would take for the inside of a car to become dusty. Namely, how long Chihiro was in the spirit world? Miyazaki’s film often contains time scale contraction/expansion. Q2: After coming back to the real world, would Chihiro remain matured or would she returns to a spoiled girl as if nothing had happened? +++++++++++++++++

your insights about it was very thoughtful.
this episode is my fav so far.
For japanese, l think Onigiri really reminds us feel the love and care and ぬくもりof a mother. Which makes that scene feel even more relatable.

It's fascinating to see how people from overseas interpret Spirited Away in such depth. It definitely makes me want to watch it again!

Uwajimaya! We shopped there in the 1960’s. The only Japanese supermarket in Seattle that time
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
