It's just moving the grey stick in the direction you want to go in while you're in shield stun frames. Tap right, move right. Tap left, move left. Same as regular SDI/ASDI. I think the examples down were 1 SDI input and 1 ASDI on top. Specifically for ASDI, you're just holding the direction you're trying to move in, as ASDI is applied on the last frame of the shield stun.
That is the part he isn't explaining. If you are trying to SDI a shine like that, you will need to be insanely precise. Often times, you will probably roll instead.
Then become a melee player. It's really not as hard as people pretend it is as long as you're willing to put in a little effort and don't expect to instantly be good

You don't need to be in a shield situation to take advantage of this it can help in a reversal for example if fox cc shines a yoshi nair that forces an air to ground transition. Making the nair safe despite the fact fox cc'd it basically requiring fox to carefully time his counter attack so that yoshi land's fully before Pressing shine which is easier said than done in the scramble.

Icies are a little trickier because the shine will send you further due to their low traction. I would lab it out. It's possible that you'd move far enough away that by the time you run or wd back in, they can spot dodge

It doesnt hurt to option select as you make a parry attempt, in particular with a fast DJ to armor many things slower than shine
