- An alternative option to the pricy GBD-H1000 is now cheaper than before.
This is my take on the GBD-100 after owning it for less than a week. Here is what I think about it so far in comparison to the GBX-100. Is it still worth it considering the lesser functions available?.

I really like the new GBDH1000 and GBD100, but they're just too big. The H1000 makes my GWX-56 look almost like a DW5600. Even the D100 is noticeably bigger than my GWX.
The step counter is not accurate Approx 1.7 steps to every actual step.
This also has effects the distance measurement when running.
Great watch but return due to programming issue. Gshock stated aware of this and will provide an update to fix but not fixed as yet so returned for a refund. I would purchase again if the issues are fixed in the future.
I hope they put this new architecture into a Protrek. Nav, tide, moon, compass, GPS, alti, step, solar and heartbeat. Make a 2021 blend of GBD-H1000 and GPR-B1000 in a smaller case. Show em what you can do without a fat OS and poor battery life.
For me gbx100 is better because of shape and dimensions. I still wait and cann't choose between gbx100 and gmwb5000 :) - silver goose.
and the price of gbx is more even than gbd 😅😅
I just received my GBD-1002ADR as a birthday gift. I'm not terribly updated with the latest G-Shocks unlike before (my last G was a GA-100 back in 2012, go figure), and I used to think I'd have no use for the Bluetooth function. I especially like the Phone Finder function.

I picked mine up on sale in the US from an outdoor sportswear company called Huckberry for $97USD w/free shipping. Too good to pass up, and so far for me the strap isn't pulling on my arm hair. It feels similar to my GBD-800, overall very nice. Love the modern negative digital display -- Much improved over old negative display styles, way more legible in all lighting conditions.
One question, if I bought the GDX-100 as well, (which has also dropped in price again to $120) does the phone app collate the fitness/activity data between the two watches for a single user? Or keep the data separated per watch?
I love my gbd100 the only thing I don’t like is the date displayed in American mm/dd anyone know if/how to change it?

I do have a hairy wrist but don't have any problems with hairpulling by the strap. Perhaps your wrist is on the thin side and thus creating this problem?....

Looking into buying this one - but there's still this one thought at the back of my mind: "your GW-M5610 is all you need" - which is not untrue, but I might appreciate the step-tracker. The one thing I appreciate is solar, which this doesn't have. Well, anyways. I do like the design. I also the design of the GBX-100, but that one as I understand it is somehow aimed at surfers?
Milan Kazarka yes it is for surfers. The watch is really good looking but we don’t use the tide graph right? If you really like the GBX-100, you can buy it but I think you won’t be using the tide graph.

It's basically the same watch as the GBX-100 but beefier....
Which one you choose, GBD-100 or GBX-100? Remembering the price just slight different.
Do you think there will be any issue of the white parts discolouring over time? This is such a good looking watch, but I wouldn't want the white band to go yellow.

If you want a basic digital solar watch, you can go with GR 8900 A-1.
Does the app need to be running in background for distance and notifications?
i hv both gbx-100-1 and gbd-100-1. plan to offload one of them. i'm leaning more to gbd-100-1 due to the buttons being easier to use. but must admit, for outing and non-sports stuff, gbx looks nicer.

I know this is a long shot, but can you please help with text notifications not showing up? All other alerts show up, but not my texts. I’ve re-paired and reset the watch several times with no success.
Perhaps something to do with your phone setting or notifications setting within the move app on your phone that block it

You completely miss the point of the gbx100. It's a specialist surf watch for professional surfers. You can't compare it to any other watch. If you don't surf why woukd you buy one. It has the important features you need as a surfer.
Can you connect it to an ipad?
I Think GBD-H1000 is better as it has solar charge... Just my opinion Mate

@@bngr_bngr there are tide.apps on Google play but.i dont know if any are made for smart watches. the GUI would have to be specific. If GShock just put a tide function in their digital display of all their watches,Casio would knock out Rip Curl, Nixon, and all the other fishjng and surfung watch industry ..but the Casio Gshock G-Lide ranges are limited and many are too big or just ugly. Even the Baby Gs look better sometimes but alot guys dont like the BabyG logo.
Excuse me,can i ask you something? I bought mudman compass a few years ago and gd-400 just a few months ago. Why that 2 watchs i bought fogging? Do you get that kind of problem too? I'm already sold it,because it's keep fogging after i get it to service center a few times. Usually it started fogging after around 4months. I love g-shock since kid. But kinda disappointed when i bought those 2pcs. I want to know is any other person having a problem like mine or not. And is JDM better than international version?
Btw i just wear it 24/7hours,just usual use like bath,not hard core like diving or anything like scuba. And,i wear my f-200 casio from 8years ago and it didn't have any problem,I'm even get it to sea around 5years ago. And it's still working perfectly.
Maxcryst some people say they getting fogging with solar watches. Since there is an air space between the solar cell and the crystal. Some people get it fixed by putting and optical glue in the air space. I have the GW56 and dont have an issue.

The good; battery life and the move to IPS display. But it misses the mark for functions that are done much better in many "smart" watches, without going overboard on the thickness or size. It's not a good compromise - and its bigger sibling is just way too large! The Garmin Instinct does the job better than either, and it's not oversized - just my opinion.

Yep, have to agree. The profile and fit are top, it's tough to mil-spec, the menu and functions are way ahead, and the sensors work just right. This is an activity / smart watch that gets it right.
$150+ ... Mostly plastic resin. Cheep watch to produce. Good for a teenager .Blinded USA.lol just saying
