This is quite interesting on how you can land on the traffic/transportation engineering job given only an undergrad in civil engineering. I am still a junior in college with CE and I have always been worrying that It must be hard for me to land in a transportation or traffic engineering job given that there is only on class in traffic engineering in CE degree at my school. Seeing that it is possible for you, I feel hopeful.

I will definitely say in my case there was some chance/luck involved. You're right about the classes offered. During my studies I took the basic transportation course and the one elective course and those didn't feel like enough. The best recommendation is to get on an internship with transportation experience. That will be very strong on your resume!

I am not really sure why I was suggested this as I dont have an interest in transportation, and this is a year old. But, you should do a cities skylines playthrough, it would be interesting to see how you manage traffic.

Thanks for the suggestion! I actually used to play that game way back when it first came out. It’s a fun game and it seems to have changed a lot. I heard there will be a Cities Skyline 2. It’s a lot difficult finding the time to game nowadays.

Hi Byron! There are not much information about transit engineers on YT, but fortunately I found your channel! A quick question. Are there any difference between transit engineers and transportation engineers? Thanks!

Hi! There are differences. There are engineers who work solely for transit agencies/organizations. Because of that, they will likely specialize in transit design, operations, and/or maintenance.

Traffic timing is california is abysmal. We should have artifical intelligence behind the traffic signals.
Idle time = road rage. It creates stress on the road.
