I looked at these falls on a map only a few weeks ago and wondered what they would be like and how hard they would to get too….. I certainly have an idea now, great video as always, certainly looks like a place that deserves more exposure👍
Thanks Colin, if possible go in after a good downpour as they’re at their most magnificent. You’ll have to offset that with the river crossings. It is possible though to take the high side of the loop and avoid the crossings but you’ll then miss the pretty gorge walk. Check with Te Kuiti DOC to see if the road is open as well. Have fun 🥾🥾🌲🌲🥾🥾
Just watched! We're both in awe & thoroughly enjoyed every step & all the nature. The luminous green on display & those waterfalls! And my nervous self was placing my unsteady balance on those slippery bits - but shouldn't have worried, you knew where & how to step & grip 🥰 Meals looked great too! Thanks for another brilliant adventure 👏💚

The hiking poles help with the slippery surface as does the knowledge of where the river goes underground - doesn’t bear thinking about 😬. What I didn’t capture on film was the stag and two hinds that visited through the night, I never knew I could hold my breath so long in wonder 🦌🦌🦌
@@skwestgate the stag was rubbing his antlers against a nearby tree, it was the roar season so he was marking his territory while scratching the velvet off. Incredible experience🤩
