Still to this day I can never understand why Tevez was allowed to go, he was a phenomenal player for us! When you talk about the modern day and high pressing etc etc, imagine you’re in a back 4 with Rooney and Tevez on your case for 90 mins… 😂

It was a mistake signing Berbatov. Don't get me wrong, Berba was a marvellous player but Rooney Ronaldo Tevez was the best strikeforce the EPL has ever seen. Berba came in and kinda ruined that dynamic.

      I always say this.
Tevez scored more important goals in 2 years at ManUtd than Berba did in double the time.

You don't sign slow stationary strikers. They might get stats but ruin the flow and the tempo of the game. Same with Ibrahimovic in Barcelona. They was better with Eto'o or David Villa. More fluid.

Tevez was an amazing player and I was so sad to see him go and it mystified me why sir Alex didn't try to keep him earlier on. Tevez took offence to that if you remember the cupped ear celebration he did. We should have kept him. Even if Ronaldo would have still left for Madrid, having Rooney and tevez up front and then finding a replacement for Ronaldo we would have shined and continued to succeed i believe that whole heartedly

@@erikpuka2627 ibrahimovic slow and stationary at the time he went to barca? His issues at the club stemmed from his issues with Pep. Eto had similar issues with Pep before leaving.

@jaycuthbert245 how quick people are to forget the past. We did continue to succeed ffs.
We signed Valencia, Chicharito, De Gea, Van Pesie in the years following, all greats of our Club, who won trophies here.
Tevez and Ronaldo left 09, we won the League in 2011 by April and 2013 by December 2012, winning league title's by 15 points with a transitioning team. finishing 2nd in 2010 and 2012 on the final day, taking it to the last game of the season both times and losing 1 on Goal difference.
Sir Alex left a team as Champions, what happened after he left is nothing to do with him, he left a team of Champions which then got dismantled. Chicharito, Rafael, Kagawa, Nani, Welbeck, Cleverley, Smalling all sold and replaced by worse players. Look at who we sold in 2013/14/15 and who we signed. Since Sir Alex and Gill retired we lost all our abilities to do transfers overnight, we have 0 football people in charge, all businessmen and bankers, no professionals in place.

Gill and Fergie messed up on that one. The only thing I probably might guess happened there is that they disrespected him because he’s not an European. I think players from other continents at man utd get different type of treatment from the man utd hierarchy over the years. Equality I don’t think really prevails at man utd.

    • @matthewmatthew9485

I think it was a mix of things. Tevez wasn't always guaranteed starter Ronaldo Rooney were over him. He would have got pissed off with that. He played a lot the first season but no so much the second. Also i think it was either him or Berbatov we couldn't have both.

    • @FootkerSnookball
      @FootkerSnookball ปีที่แล้ว +5

Should've prioritised Tevez. Big game player, Berbaflop wasn't. Tevez had a better career. Would've been far more successful from 2009/10 to 2011/12.
Tevez was still helping ManUtd after going to ManCity scoring many against Chelsea, did more in a ManCity shirt for ManUtd than Berbatov did in a ManUtd shirt let alone the contribution Tevez had while at ManUtd scored more important goals in 2 years than Berbatov did in 4 years at the club.
Berbatov only scored 1 goal against a top5 team in 4 years and he only scored in 3 ChampionsLeague games for ManUtd (all in group stage, none in knockouts and none vs elite CL teams and went 3 whole years without a CL goal during his ManUtd career).
He also cost ManUtd at least 2 FAcup's in an era where Chelsea annoyingly won 4 in 6 seasons, ManCity won it with Tevez while many ManUtd legends never won it and ManUtd couldn't even say well at least we've won CL by 2012 when Chelsea fluked that as well. ManUtd were clearly a much more consistent team with great potential but players like Berbatov hindered ManUtd he can't handle the pressure at a giant club a team who wins trophies hence why he was sold for 10% of what ManUtd paid for him to go to trophyless history team Fulham, Spurs didn't even want him back yet Tevez was still being bought by big clubs.
For ManUtd's CL consistency they really should've won more CL's than Chelsea in that era Chelsea's time should've been over in that era that's why Chelsea love their players from then because they fought hard and yes got lucky but they had no regrets where as ManUtd could've done better.
Berbatov was partly responsible for ManUtd missing out on a record 4 PL's in a row in 2009/10 when we relied on him only for a game or 2 while Rooney was injured and he didn't deliver. Rooney was on 34 goals before his injury late March and then he and Berbatov didn't score again for the rest of the season Berbatov only scored 12.

@@matthewmatthew9485 it wasnt that. Tevez is MILES ahead of Berbatov. Ferguson was playing cold games with him, to try to sign him for less money. Tevez already knew he was a top talent, he went to city and was the best player in the premier league for 3 years straight.

    • @Tatwamasi_Om

Absolutely nonsense, maybe they disrespected him, but it had nothing to do with his nationality. What about Anderson, Forlan, Kleberson, Veron. All South Americans who hardly impressed at Utd but Sir Alex stuck by them and defended them even when they wasn't good enough.
To think that Sir Alex disrespected him due to his nationality is embarrassing and shows you clearly know nothing about the Tevez situation, or Sir Alex and how he managed.
