I totally respect different languages and different cultures' meanings of words, but it seemed odd to me that people said it was used as a term of endearment... considering they weren't even buddies and just opponents on a pitch during a tense moment. Genuinely curious if it's a word that can be used in that content since I don't speak Spanish

We're all brothers and we can all be better regardless of what the past has produced for today can't change then but can start to change now because today will become tomorrow's past
I'm from Latin America. What u guys have to understand it's the history of our territories and the process of colonization. That implied the extermination, genocide of native and bringing of slaves from the African diaspora. That happens not so long time ago. Due to the specific circumstances of that process in Argentina and Uruguay those countries are considered to have the racisms intrinsic in their culture. That is why you will find people from those countries justifying it because "that's how they are in their country" and "that's how they speak in their country" which does not exempt them from their responsibility and ignorance. You can be racist even if you don't know it or don't want to.
The word itself can be used as a form of affection in South America but as with most words, it's about context. "I don't speak with blacks" is not a term of affection, it's a racist remark. Pure and simple. Now, you can argue it was in the heat of the moment and it was a one off, everyone says things they don't mean when the adrenaline is pumping in which case you be a man. You apologise, accept the punishment and move on. But what Dalglish and Liverpool did afterwards was disgraceful. Liverpool themselves and a few of the players have since apologised, I don't know if Dalglish did (though I doubt it) but at the time they needlessly inflamed the situation. Then there's Suarez himself. Evra put his hand out and Suarez refused to take it, as if Suarez was the victim. He wasn't. He was the perpetrator. As good as Suarez is as a player, he's also acted like a scumbag more than once. While I understand fans trying to defend their players, some things are indefensible.
And yet according to the PL report nobody on the field actually heard him say it. Suarez was punished all on Evra's word. Yet Evra admitted that he called Suarez a "sudaca". Suarez can claim ignorance of English cultural norms but Evra was well aware of the significance of "sudaca".
His story about his dad I had same with my family members. Taking the piss with racist comments and i just thought they were immature and not funny we were only 11/9 years old. me and my sister went mad and all time they would do it to wind me and my sister up knowing it bothered us. Both our best mates were muslims and we grew up together and ended up living next door to us. He is exactly right on how to tackle racism. No one is born a racist we our only a product of our enviroment and the only way to understand is be willing to not be a sheep and think for yourself. Unfortunately there is still a small percentage of people who are racist. They are normally the sheep watching commercial tv and dumb as fuck. Evra is a legend and I love his views as they are exactly what I think. I also wish everyone could live a basic life with all the essentials i think its an absolute disgrace thay people are still dieing of hunger and living conditions. How can we not solve these issues still we are failing as humans. One last thing I hate people who go its our country go back to where you came from. You were just lucky to be born with the foundations laid out for you its no ones land and i hate that mentality. Im born in UK and if we can offer a better life to someone who trying to do the best for there kids i hope we can help. Yes there isnt limitless spaces. But we can solve alot if we tackle what is the problems in the countries they are coming from and other countries help with solving the issues.
Despite being a French guy, Patrice's English is quite well. Going back to the incident between Evra and Suarez, I think that he forgave Suarez because, everything is part of the past. Besides, Patrice like Luis Suarez, doesn't want anybody to talk about that anymore.
I will never respect Liverpool as a club and this is not because I am a United fan. But to me, someone who has never been in Europe it gives the vibe that they didn’t care about what happened. And then wearing shirts with a picture of him…nah bro. If you supported him in public then apologise public.
whingerpool denied it, supported a player proved to have used racist abuse, that halfwit dalglish defended it and their vile fans posted videos trying to defend it. The self-pitying depths of that club know no bounds.
United fans wanted a rapist to play for their club. The United board even said Greenwood was innocent without even going to trial. Don't take the moral high ground here. Clubs will always support their players.
Not a Man u fan, not a Liverpool fan. Evra still going on about this and lying in the process. Go watch the handshake video, Evra clearly keeps his hand by his side and then raises it after Suarez has passed to try give the impression he was willing to shake hands. So apparently Evra admits he said your mothers c*** to Suarez, typical football Derby behaviour, trying to provoke a reaction, Suarez responds with his own remark, should he have hit Evra for talking about his mother instead, the response from Suarez tells that Evras attempt to wind him up failed and he had a more hurtful comeback instead. Suarez was well known for his volatile temperament and the United players would likely have been instructed to prey on it, it comes with the territory of a Liverpool United Derby, not that long ago we were hearing fans singing songs celebrating the tragedies of football clubs such as the death of players and fans in Munich and Hillsborough. All of this is blown out of proportion. Before VAR these players would lie and cheat to win a throw in, nevermind a game. It's called win at all costs for a reason. If you can't take it then don't give it and don't cry foul when you're own attempts to upset someone fails. Evra is a terrible pundit but he is dying to be recognised as one, he'll fall back on this whenever he can to get a sympathy vote and airtime.
Liverpool supporter here, i have always hated evra but this video has given me a deeper insight into him and i would like to say i have massive respect for him. On hind sight us liverpool fans were wrong to support luis swares that snake coz he later bit us
Love Evra. I hope he can use his wisdom, combined with his wealth to push that social media flag idea because that point about the Covid flag but nothing for racism was on point. Corps and powers that be need to put their money where their mouth is and take on misinformation and hate head on or face regulation.
I couldnt really see why fergie made him a captain at the time, every interview or video or clip ive seen of patrice since he retired showed me why. What an intelligent human being. Kevin Dalglish. Dont even get the racists name right. Yes patrice !
Patrice is a big baby. Negrito isn’t a racist remark in South America. I’m pretty sure Cavani who was playing for Man U at the the time called Rashford the same thing on Instagram. They were teammates.
I notice all the high and mighty Utd fans on theor pedestals have conveniently forgotten about Edison Cavani doing the exact same thing whilst wearing a utd shirt!! Remember, before trying to defend Cavani by using "context" , context means nothing when it comes to racism, that was the whole argument you all had back then!
At the time i thought suarez was a racist prick but watching this actually makes me think Evra made it bigger than what it was, cause he said he called him negrito and then went to the ref and said did you hear he called me the N word? And negrito is not the same, just makes me think that Evra doesn't understand the meaning of the word at all, and he is a bit famous for lying and telling untrue and "crazy" things so i'm starting to doubt him.

I totally respect different languages and different cultures' meanings of words, but it seemed odd to me that people said it was used as a term of endearment... considering they weren't even buddies and just opponents on a pitch during a tense moment. Genuinely curious if it's a word that can be used in that content since I don't speak Spanish
Suarez and evra should rise up and get together and show the world change in the most powerful way possible and stand together united against racism and prove that people can be educated people can be misunderstood people can make mistakes and we are all human and because of their highly profiled racist dispute, misconduct and the example that they could have on millions around the world not just football or sport for that matter but the human race could learn a lesson from the message that many still need to hear and learn from it.
?
Very wise person
Kenny dalglish not kevin lol and no he wasn't sacked a month after the t shirt thing. He was in the summer of 2012 after winning the league cup.
Big up David De Gea👏🏽
Suarez was also bitting players 😂😂😂😂😂
But we can solve alot if we tackle what is the problems in the countries they are coming from and other countries help with solving the issues.
i love this game
U r an angle bro with big heart
Love Evra
what's that host's voice bruh 😭😭😭
Class act
Despite being a French guy, Patrice's English is quite well. Going back to the incident between Evra and Suarez, I think that he forgave Suarez because, everything is part of the past. Besides, Patrice like Luis Suarez, doesn't want anybody to talk about that anymore.
I will never respect Liverpool as a club and this is not because I am a United fan. But to me, someone who has never been in Europe it gives the vibe that they didn’t care about what happened. And then wearing shirts with a picture of him…nah bro. If you supported him in public then apologise public.
Are you now going to apologise to us for defending a CONVICTED homophobic in public then?
If one of their players was racially abused they would have cared. Believe that.
Sure, stick to supporting a team of wife beaters instead!!
whingerpool denied it, supported a player proved to have used racist abuse, that halfwit dalglish defended it and their vile fans posted videos trying to defend it. The self-pitying depths of that club know no bounds.
Absolutely agree
And here you are defending a CONVICTED homophobe!!!! People in glasses houses shouldn't throw stones.
@@joewebster1408 Gonna be cheering on a rapist tho
United fans wanted a rapist to play for their club. The United board even said Greenwood was innocent without even going to trial. Don't take the moral high ground here. Clubs will always support their players.
Well said
Not a Man u fan, not a Liverpool fan.
On hind sight us liverpool fans were wrong to support luis swares that snake coz he later bit us
Chiellini?
i remember from that day i started hating suarez
Love Evra. I hope he can use his wisdom, combined with his wealth to push that social media flag idea because that point about the Covid flag but nothing for racism was on point. Corps and powers that be need to put their money where their mouth is and take on misinformation and hate head on or face regulation.
Why aren't they interviewing Suarez to see if he's really sorry.
How can man say he saw Suarez with his family but gave him a pass😂😂
Cant criticise the ref. It was an alleghstion not a proven fact at that point.
Mi negro or negraso en Colombia is a friendly way to address a melanated man is used to strike a conversation and make a connection
I couldnt really see why fergie made him a captain at the time, every interview or video or clip ive seen of patrice since he retired showed me why. What an intelligent human being. Kevin Dalglish. Dont even get the racists name right. Yes patrice !
I was at the game where we wore the shirts, it was a shameful episode
Who's Kevin daglish
If I was Evra I would walk up to suarez and say that his kid saved him today, because that would show him that he is not afraid
I'm a Liverpool fan but i was not surprised by the LFC fans attitude after the incident As 4 Kenny and the clubs reaction? It was disgusting.
Patrice is a big baby. Negrito isn’t a racist remark in South America. I’m pretty sure Cavani who was playing for Man U at the the time called Rashford the same thing on Instagram. They were teammates.
Dont cry evra, come to uruguay
Believe me. Suarez Don’t give a fruit about you or your forgiveness and nothing is going to change the color of your skin
He got a 8 game suspension…. Obv it’s wrong what he did but cmon what else is he supposed to do ?
Different culture different word they said it! Suarez is from Uruguay
So?
@@maiqtheliar8210 so he is not racist, its just a way to talk, im from Uruguay, and i talk like that, everybody do.
That man is messed up in the head ,ofcourse he is racist
@@defeatedbyluxeSo everybody in uruquay say "I don't talk to black people"? 😂
@@rl9888 no, its culture, if you dont have enough brain cells to understand dont waste my time.
Bro sound like that angry guy in the breakfast club show
That’s y Suarez turned into dog started biting 😂😂
Patrice is full of it still. Referring to negrito as the N word is just misleading people still after all these years
Whether that is a direct translation or not, it was meant by Suarez to be derogatory.
@@lovette7684stop race baiting…Suarez said it wasn’t meant in a derogatory way, so why do you think you know best? Worse things get said at the footy
Suares was saved by he's family
Mr Evra said : "Don't touch me, South American" crazy double standards. There's actually no real evidence of what he is saying.
did Evra actually said that? cause if he did, you just stunned the shi outta me.
how can i see where he said it?
Top bloke
Negrito isn’t racist in Latin culture
But “I don’t speak to negritos” is racist and disgusting
Liverpool are shocking for backing him
What do you expect? Gotta be the most racist place in England.
You know he's from the streets cos his first through was to punch him in the face😅
What streets ?
You americans are so narrow-minded.
It's about being a man, not being from the streets.
Exactly! Good luck to him punching Suarez! He would have bitten lumps out of him.
He’s the son of a diplomat. This guy is full of bs
Nergito is not racist YNWA Suarez
