CELTIC’S STUNNING START AND THE TONY WATT DERBY I The Warm-Up with Tony Watt and John Hughes
Two of Scottish football’s most renowned characters - John Hughes and Tony Watt - join us this week to chat all things SPFL, UEFA Champions League and... chickens!
On this week’s show, John Hughes reveals the reference he received from a young Joe Hart when signing Kasper Schmeichel on loan for Falkirk ahead of the Dane’s reunion with the Bairns this weekend in the Premier Sports Cup.
Reflecting on Celtic’s stunning UEFA Champions League opening day win against Slovan Bratislava, Tony Watt shared his firsthand experiences of nights under the lights at Parkhead and the Italian legend who charmed him after a Champions League game.
Finally, in the week that the SPFL Premiership saw the first managerial casualty, John Hughes asked, “What’s the remit” for the Perth side, citing Craig Levein’s success in keeping the side in the top flight.

O Neil is a real gem
As bright as an eclipse
After the Open Goal Arras, no one with half a brain will want to take that St Johnstone job. Dressing Room of Mice
Tony Watt comes across really well in this. Great job The Warm Up team 👏
Thanks Ryan!
Fascinating stuff. Love listening to legends stories of times gone by.
❤
😂😂😂😂
What he means is he was bang on the sniff
He was more interested in his movie reviews for a long time. I don't think he was off the rails like that but he didn't have the focus or the right people around him. Know a couple of folk that went to the same school and said he had a massive ego even then so scoring against Barca was probably the worst thing to happen to him. The whole point in loaning him out the next season was to give him a kick up the arse when in reality he probably needed an arm around the shoulder and the club keeping an eye on him. Instead he was abroad and constantly flying his mates over.
Sutton😂😂
Despite his career not kicking off at Celtic the way we would’ve liked. Tony Watt is immortalised in my memory forever for that Barca goal 💯🍀
A special moment indeed! Glad to see you enjoyed the episode! Keep an eye out for more! 🔜📺
Yogi for the hearts job plz
I remember this cretin gave rangers a penalty even broadfoot dived and he wasn't even looking at thr situation
My cousin Vinny great movie
WC seems like a decent guy
Dumpling
Tony’s a really impressive pundit.
Deeks had more talent in his big toe.
Did ye aye
Aye alright, hearts better atmosphere than paradise. Shut up ya current bun
Really Good watch again guys thoroughly enjoy the show each week. John and Tony were really good to hear what they had to say also 👏
Thanks for listening!
I remember that PSG game Yogi talks about. I was 13, and as we were leaving the house my dad said to me “we could be watching the winners of the cup tonight” sad I said “you think we’re that good?” As the third goal went in I said “you meant them” Loko, Lama, Djorkajeff, unreal that night.
Big John….best accent in Scottish Football…
Class😂
Nice 1
Glad to see you enjoyed the episode! Keep an eye out for more! 🔜📺
Guy was a bully ...and a drunk tramp ..
Stop begging for subscription
Stop complaining. All you tubers ask for subscriptions. It's necessary for them to continue.
Sutton won the English Prem Boyd couldn't get a game in it.
Great show again guys great to see big John and Tony
Glad to see you enjoyed it! 🫡
Tony watt never good enough for Celtic never done anything Barr the goal against Barcelona, Yogi always a good laugh, hearts have singed good players that only looked good because they were in terrible team's
Does gordon ever shut up, sam cant get a word in
Big Yogi 💪 our most successful captain in recent times 🫡🖤🤍
Very good episode. But it would help some of us (perhaps those of a certain age) if you left the weekend’s fixture lists on screen (maybe in an inset screen) while you discussed them. But good episode, well done to all involved.
@@everreason5407 I'm sure they'll take that on board buddy, first season and bedding in the new format 👍👍👍
Love Tony! Wont ever forget that goal vs Barca
Excellent 🎉
Cheers Bernard!
Good episode but you are some pair for interrupting the guests mid sentence
@@cg94z aye the only time they didn't do that was Souness and O'neill and no wonder 😂😂😂
Must be watching another podcast or dont know how a conversation works
All feedback is welcome. We hope you enjoyed the episode! Keep an eye out for more! 🔜📺

I like joe but fk listening to him for an hour plus.
@@loganp4570 he has lot to tell but maybe you’re right
Great stuff to have on while working away. Have to back Tony up, Mayor of Kingstown is excellent, three seasons of a gritty crime drama with Jeremy Renner and Michael Beach among others.
Where are you working fella

All these people are better than Scott Brown
Enda in Aus he should be a regular now, HH
Thomas Nancy Rodriguez David Wilson Donna
Beautiful
Willie collumn is the love child of willo flood and a polecat
Even Becks saw what a shite referee he is 😂
Scott Brown at first 🤣🤣🤣 even stuart amrstong is better than him.
Face for the radio.
Souness shouldn’t take untaxed payments from Rangers while he was the Blackburn manager. Claims it was for scouting haha while you were manager?! Guys a tit.
If var. Was around during his time things would have been very different.
Interesting opinion. Why do you say that?
