There was the clip of Sir Alex going round the dressing room, shook every players hand and said "proud of you" to everyone apart from Tevez, and after they shook hands Tevez looked at the ground.
tevez explained in an interview that after winning the ucl, saf told him he would speak to his agent in order to buy him for good. but then he never did, and always benched him. the day before the 2009 ucl final, saf promised to finally call his agent for good when the match was over, but by that time, tevez had already decided to move to city
I think it’s more to do with how they evolve as a club. Will they stick to his philosophy, who will they bring in to carry on or change his system/style, will players stick around for the new vision. When you look at Barca post-Pep while they’re still successful they’re a shadow of the Pep era side. Terrible transfers, manager appointments, bottling on the European stage, loss of identity etc.
Rasengan that’s what’ll happen with city if they don’t get his replacement right. Maybe they’ll look at Barcelona and realise that they have to go and get the right manager if they don’t want to end up with inferior players and an aging squad.

b1ackv1p3r Ironically wasn’t the season after the best season of Rooneys career though? He absolutely carried United that year if I remember right. I feel sorry for Rooney, spent his whole career getting moved around positions for the good of the team yet still put in world class performances every year, finished as United and England’s all time top scorer and the man still doesn’t get the credit he deserves.
Probably because a lot of people buy into the personality of english players in their over assessment of them. Not that i think rooney is a bad guy, from what I've seen. But he received plenty of abuse from the media and rival fans even as a teenager. Imagine that. His mistake, if you can call it that, was that he didn't conform to keeping quiet nor did he open himself out more until much later in his career. Also, England had a decent amount of club legends in chelsea, liverpool and utd during his time, so it may take some historical distancing until he is fully appreciated.
jason haynes His off field antics definitely never helped his on field legacy, their is probably just as many people who know him as the granny shagging prostitute nuisance than there is a great footballer. But such is life in the fire of the British media. The bigger and better you are the more your looked at watched spied on. Your right there was as he was probably the last of the golden generation, I dare say however that he was better than all of the rest of that generation.
His agent said "how can Neville say this about a player who has won 2 or 3 times more trophies than him" now I don't know how many trophies Tevez has won but 3 × more than Neville 🤔 sounds like a bit of an exaggeration given Gary is one of the most decorated full backs in the history of football.
@@choughed3072 Tevez Trophies Argentina: 5x Primeria Division, 5 cup trophies (not important enough for me to list them) Brazil: 1 campeonato Brasileiro Série A China: Chinese FA Cup England: 3x Premier League, 1 champions league, 1 FA cup, 2x FA community shield, 1 football League Cup, 1 Fifa Club World Cup Italy: 2x Serie A, 1 coppa Italia, 1 supercoppa Italiana Gary Neville Trophies England: 8x Premier League, 2x Champions League, 3x FA Cup, 3x FA Community Shield, 1 Fifa Club World Cup, 1 Intercontinental Cup, 2 Football League Cups. So Tevez has 25 trophies vs Nevilles 20. However the difference in the quality of Trophies is massive. Nevilles premier league titles alone are arguably a bigger deal than everything that Tevez won
I also find it interesting that the agent called Neville a reporter who needs to get the facts before speaking. Does he forget that Neville was the Captain of the dressing room at the time?
Tevez helped us win the Champions league. We signed Berbatov and benched Tevez. That is why we lost the next final to Barca. Our quick counter attack play would have won us 3 straight champions league trophies if we had not signed Berbatov and Benched Tevez. Berbatov was a good player, he is slow and silky but that's not what we needed then. Tevez was right to down tools after how we treated him. He felt unappreciated
Tevez was the Catalyst for City's rise. Had United signed him permanently after the first season, in stead of wasting £30 mill on Berbatov City would never had gotten to the CL and never signed any of the truly great City players (except Kompany who was already there)
He didn't downtools when he went to the real Manchester Club the blue side you know so the team dominating Manchester for the last 7 years and will for the next seven
Neville: Tevez downed tools Souness: yes, a bit like Pogba, what a waste of space, terrible attitude - get rid immediately. What has Pogba won, after all?
Don’t change anything about the stadium, just make it bigger if you must. Old Trafford is a legendary stadium it would be sad to see it change to look like some spaceship
Souness is a Liverpool legend, massive respect, but his hatred towards United really gets in the way of any of his opinions about United. Telling United to ''suck it up'' and subtly showing support for City is pathetic, and below him when his own team are doing so well. United never had to suck it up, the whole point was that this club (City) was non-existent for the better part of the last 50 years and Neville acknowledged their recent rise, so no point for Souness to be so aggressive. Loved Gary's response to the almost-takeover of Liverpool shade Souness threw.United have always fought against anyone with injection of massive cash, like Chelsea, City, etc.
I disagree with Souness around about 8:00 here - when you think about how Starbucks would open stores opposite small coffee shops. Going out of their way to take customers from the opposition by pushing their prices down, so much so that they would run a net loss in that branch until the smaller shop has to shut down and then Starbucks is the only coffee around. It means good coffee is harder to come by. It's not a perfect analogy here but I disagree that strong competition inherently "makes you better".
For Tevez, I would blame it on Sir Alex as he has all the time to sign him on but didnt exercise the rights when he said he would sign up tevez after the champions league final win. When you are a football player and especially Tevez who was owned by a 3rd party, you would be panicking when the club who told you they would sign you on didnt. The other reason was because United signed Berbatov that season and felt the importance of Tevez wasnt that strong anymore.
Very interesting video. Souness doesn't know what he's talking about as usual but other than that you can clearly see from this interview/conversation the unfair advantage that City and Chelsea have had. United earned their riches, they deserved to be on their perch. They were one of the best and therefore one of the most popular clubs. Out of nowhere they get 2 rivals who have no limit whatsoever. Outside money shouldn't be allowed in football IMO. Match day revenue, player sales and sponsors should be it and it should be investigated thoroughly each season. And no, I'm not even a United supporter. I just miss real football where clubs were more than just a brand.
Sky should realize that these names aren't going to make us remember the whole conversation in the long term. Since we're getting, and will continue to get, many such discussions in due course, they should seriously consider naming these videos by the topics being discussed instead. This one, for instance, could have been called "Neville and Souness on Carlos Tevez, Man City, Abu Dhabi ownership"
Rio, Keano, Rooney, Evra...all of them respected Tevez decision at the moment and thought that fergie was on the wrong side of it on this one, also because in their words they knew that he would be a nightmare as rival and worse when he went to City to finally shift the course of that club. It doesn't have a thing to do with Berva's class, but Fergie ruined the chemistry of a champion team and lost an extraordinary player just for trying to get him on the cheap.
City neighbours do have an impact on clubs as a blade I’ve seen this 1st hand Wednesday were the better team in Sheffield for 6 years while we were in league 1. We come up beat them at Hillsborough and both clubs fortunes have drastically changed since we’re pushing for Europe in the prem while they’re mediocre in the championship undoubtedly facing a point deduction that will probably relegate them
United's owners do not give a toss about Manchester. Gary Neville said it that Utd's reach is global and it is. The Glazer's care about the money they can take out of the club. To them, Utd is a vehicle for corporate partnerships and as long as the team does well enough that companies want to be associated with Utd, the owners are happy. Manchester the place is nothing to them.

Tevez wasn’t respected at United
Isn't
He didnt deserve respect. Doesnt have the work ethic of rooney or ronaldo
@LucasTorreiraisthegoat They dont even play the same position u braindead troll. Welbeck and Walcott in 16/17 were as shite and injury prone as each other so sym
LucasTorreiraisthegoat Arsenal are Btec!!!!
There was the clip of Sir Alex going round the dressing room, shook every players hand and said "proud of you" to everyone apart from Tevez, and after they shook hands Tevez looked at the ground.
Can you tell me where it is? I couldn't find.
We need Gary on the United board.
tevez explained in an interview that after winning the ucl, saf told him he would speak to his agent in order to buy him for good. but then he never did, and always benched him. the day before the 2009 ucl final, saf promised to finally call his agent for good when the match was over, but by that time, tevez had already decided to move to city
Brutally? Christ imagine what sky news will call actual brutality when they finally see it
It’ll be interesting to see how city get on when Pep leaves. They’ll have the money still but they won’t have his managerial brilliance.
I guess the issue is who do you replace him with?
Rasengan that’s what’ll happen with city if they don’t get his replacement right. Maybe they’ll look at Barcelona and realise that they have to go and get the right manager if they don’t want to end up with inferior players and an aging squad.
man city won the pl title with mancini and pellegrini ,i think it wouldnt be that bad when pep leaves
@@joshkoh5143 unless city get Poch or somehow Zidane its gonna be a HUGE drop off. Without CL football they may struggle to keep their team anyway. With or without pep...
Neville spot on as usual. Especially about Old Trafford
We never should’ve let him leave, Rooney almost left because of losing CR7 and Tevez in the same window and not replacing either
b1ackv1p3r Ironically wasn’t the season after the best season of Rooneys career though?
His agent says otherwise lol this could be interesting
like his agent is just come out and agree with Neville? of course he'd stick up for his client...
His agent said "how can Neville say this about a player who has won 2 or 3 times more trophies than him" now I don't know how many trophies Tevez has won but 3 × more than Neville 🤔 sounds like a bit of an exaggeration given Gary is one of the most decorated full backs in the history of football.
@@choughed3072
Tevez Trophies
Argentina:
5x Primeria Division, 5 cup trophies (not important enough for me to list them)
Brazil:
1 campeonato Brasileiro Série A
China:
Chinese FA Cup
England:
3x Premier League, 1 champions league, 1 FA cup, 2x FA community shield, 1 football League Cup, 1 Fifa Club World Cup
Italy:
2x Serie A, 1 coppa Italia, 1 supercoppa Italiana
Gary Neville Trophies
England:
8x Premier League, 2x Champions League, 3x FA Cup, 3x FA Community Shield, 1 Fifa Club World Cup, 1 Intercontinental Cup, 2 Football League Cups.

Sky TH-cam uploader now frantically looking in the dictionary for a new and more brutally exaggerated click bait word....
Still no Roy keane vid. We know exists but was never uploaded
he is right about the "sort of career" statement
Gary Neville’s orchids are really flourishing in the background
Tevez helped us win the Champions league. We signed Berbatov and benched Tevez. That is why we lost the next final to Barca. Our quick counter attack play would have won us 3 straight champions league trophies if we had not signed Berbatov and Benched Tevez. Berbatov was a good player, he is slow and silky but that's not what we needed then. Tevez was right to down tools after how we treated him. He felt unappreciated
Van nistelrooy didn't like gary Neville had bust ups with rio and cr7 and disrespected fergie but was still considered a great 🤷🏽♂️
Neville won't admit it but Ferguson made a colossal blunder by dropping Tevez for Berbatov.
Yeah, Berbatov is a class act but disrupting that scary fast front three was a mistake.
Tevez was the Catalyst for City's rise. Had United signed him permanently after the first season, in stead of wasting £30 mill on Berbatov City would never had gotten to the CL and never signed any of the truly great City players (except Kompany who was already there)
Souness' right airpod - the right way to wear it
He didn't downtools when he went to the real Manchester Club the blue side you know so the team dominating Manchester for the last 7 years and will for the next seven
Neville: Tevez downed tools
Souness: yes, a bit like Pogba, what a waste of space, terrible attitude - get rid immediately. What has Pogba won, after all?
Don’t change anything about the stadium, just make it bigger if you must. Old Trafford is a legendary stadium it would be sad to see it change to look like some spaceship
Souness looks like he has green screened in an Air B&B house.
Gary you’re a top fella mate. Honest and genuine. 👍
"I love Mané, Salah and Firmino to bits" - Gary Neville
What an incredible pile of humongous horseshit......😃
I think he means in terms of their quality lol.
John Cronin tbh Gary always speaks highly of that front 3.
Graeme seems angry. Graeme still hates Manchester United. Graeme seems lonely.
Souness looking like he lives in a palace.
he does, they all do
So Gary talks about front three
2007/8 Ronaldo 42 Rooney 18 Tevez 19
2017/18 Salah 44 Firmino 27 Mane 20
Out of this world?
@Full English2308 he just said they were better than this Liverpool front three which is not true...
@Full English2308 explain how? Salah has set pl goal record and they had more goals? Wtf is wrong with you
Rade Fustar Last I checked, United's front 3 won lots of trophies, Liverpool's beat a broken Tottenham and bottled against Real. World class btw.
Not everything is goals...
@@H1JOSH1 for the attckers yes it is.
I'm assuming the 'Amanda' Souness is referring to is Amanda Staveley, who is spearheading the takeover of Newcastle United?
Souness with the earphones all the way in, upside down
Of course Souness wears his Airpods upside down and back to front
Nobody has the balls to tell him.
Sergio Aguero is a Legend. Arsenal fan here.
Didnt know Tevez was a tradesman.
Souness is not the bloke to ask about rivalries with his track history. If you know, you know 😅😅🇹🇷

Tevez always put in a shift for United. The problem was he had too many people advising him off the pitch.
Maybe because they didn't wanna give him a proper deal instead of a 2 year loan??
‘She tried to get them to Liverpool, but Pogba’s performances for United are so bad, they went to City.’
City neighbours do have an impact on clubs as a blade I’ve seen this 1st hand Wednesday were the better team in Sheffield for 6 years while we were in league 1. We come up beat them at Hillsborough and both clubs fortunes have drastically changed since we’re pushing for Europe in the prem while they’re mediocre in the championship undoubtedly facing a point deduction that will probably relegate them
Why have the comments moved? Way worse like this !
