If you didn't decide yet I'd spend the extra money on the TRI. I had no idea how to program radios at all when I first got this thing but after playing with it I got the hang of it. Just a rule of thumb DO NOT transmit on frequency's that are outside FRS or GMRS, I can not stress this enough. Transmitting is different than receiving that is fine just DON'T transmit on them. Like I listen to my local Fire department on mine.
Actually transmitting on FRS and GMRS is also illegal on these radios. They are not "type" accepted radios for transmitting on these bands. These are ham (and not great ones at that) radios requiring a license for you to transmit on those bands. Transmitting on FRS and GMRS may be less risky but still illegal. The fine is around $4000 if you get caught.
its between this or the toysoldier prc148...Idk much about radios and have no idea how to program them so im leaning mor torwards the TS radio...yet This radio can do so much more it seems like. any input? and please make that video on how to program this and just the how to please. liked and subbed
The space on the side is actually for data the top 5 pin is for the headset. I actually was an RTO with spec ops in the Army. Love these radios but prefer the AN/PRC-148 MBITR over any handheld.
How's your radio holding up to date? Is there manuf support/maintenance for it in case of breakage? Does this radio readily work with real steal ear pro (e.g., Sordin) and PTT?
There is a version from px airsoft that works with the real headsets and ptts but it cost 350$, but if you already own the radio you can buy a chip from them as well that you put in to the radio your self which allows you to use the real headsets and such. And I haven't used it much, have not gone airsofting in a while due to school and my lack of a drivers license(I live in NYC, we have the train) but I have done many tests with it and it is the best replica on the market if you want a military styled radio and not willing to drop 5k on a real one. Sadly I dont know if there is any support because it is a custom radio but it is OEM by Baofang and is basically their UV-5R in a fancy case. So for any technical things look more into to video reviewing that radio if none of the people with the TRI version. Hope this helped and feel free to ask if you have any more questions and my apologizes for the late response.
i bought the $350 prc-152. I am still waiting for the package, they send very slow. idk if my ppt would work with my real headset because toysoldier told me that real ptt would work with toysoldier prc-152
Yea it took 2 weeks to get to new york but dont worry once you get it you will enjoy it and Emerson PTTs work with real headsets to my knowledge and the do work with the radio. but if you have a real PTT try it out and if it does not work I would guess the radio only works with replica PTTs, but you can find replica PTTs that work with real headsets
The sad thing is I have one of these but it is an actual one and not a replica. The price tag on it is 2,875 dollars and it weighs about 5 pounds and is metal.
It's not really $40 for shipping, specially not from china. That's just a scam to advertise lower prices than competitors and they add the bogus shipping in so it stills costs the same. These go for $290 300 most of the time.
Sorry guys for no second video I have ran into some problems and I figured if I get every thing worked out I only have to make another video and not a third one. I am waiting on some new accessories for the radio and they will be here in about two weeks or so and I will make the video that I promised then.
hi, i have this radio. I just received it. When I tested it wit a pair of motorola talk about radios, I saw that prc 152 receives the voice from the motorola radio but when I pressethe PTT on prc 152, on the motorola radio there is no sound even though I can see the ptt icon on motorola radio (I mean i can see on motorola radio it is receiving the signal from PRC 152, but there is no sound!!!) I checked lots of things but did not find what is wrong. PRC receives the sound but apparently it does not transmit it in UHF1 where it was supposed to be. IS there any settings to handle that?
+cagdas yelmi I looked at what channels I needed to type in and some were a simple 462.225, however the ones that don't work are like 462.425 - RX 103,5 Hz CTCSS and 463.125 - RX 125N DTS but unfortunately I don't have the experience to understand what this means and how to program it In with the radio, any help is appreciated mate thanks
That is one expensive Boafeng UV5R.

Does it scan memory channels? If not, might be a deal breaker for me.
Почти, как настоящий 🙂 до настоящей этой игрушке, как до луны, по сути это Баофенг в красивой обёртке
Its a BaoFeng on steroids

You wanna sell it?
What did you use to write the callsign on
Is the case made of plastic or aluminum?
where you buy it?
Can you use the frequency with UV -5R Baofeng radio models?
Check the frequency range of your radio. I'm sure the UV5R will have no problem communicating with this.
Awesome. Thanks!!!
why cant you use the other frequencies?@willard
You can use whatever you want within it's transmitting range.
How did this hold up in the long run mate?

+AirsoftHooligan926 The radio break?

Sounds like one of them is in a group.
+cagdas yelmi I am having this problem too, if you or anyone with further information could help me it would be massively appreciated!
Yes it is easy. I am using this radio for almost 2 years. There are some settings to give as sub channels. You need to define them.
It is made from the strongest plastic in the world
