    Thanks for this video. I was set on the 500h and was going to go through with the purchase prior to this comparison video. The added fuel economy and added luxury features in the 450h+ caused me to choose it over the 500h, and I take delivery of it next weekend. Thanks again!

      Hey, congrats on your purchase, as you found in your situation RX 450h+ is a better vehicle. It certainly makes sense if you can charge it at home overnight. The only thing make sure you are OK with frequent charging as plugin hybrids are not the same as self-charging hybrids and can be either way more efficient or a complete headache if you can't charge it frequently.

      Hi there, Firstly I'm based in the UK, and secondly I drive from new a 2022 Lexus Rx 450h 3.5v6 Premium Sport (model before the revamp) basically it was a toss up between the 450h+ & also the 500h!! But like yourself I also opted for the brand new 2025 Lexus Rx 450h+ in Takumi Spec (that's the luxury range topper) my order went in just last week, and it will arrive in April etc!! What actually is the point of the 500h? When the 450h+ does everything the 500h does, but better, (IT RIDES & EVEN HANDLES SO'ooooo MUCH BETTER THAN THE 500h) + gives the advantage of driving in FULL EV MODE!! ANY road test I've watched, has said the complete opposite of this guy, Saying to: "GO FOR THE 450h+, & NOT THE 500h"!! As the 500h engine isn't as good as the one in the 450h+!! The 450h+ definitely gives you the BEST OF BOTH WORLDS, and doesn't suffer from any turbo lag, as found in the 500h!!!! Think we've both made the right choice here!! Providing that you CAN charge it up over night at home etc, which I'll be doing when it's parked over night in the garage!! Thus far I'm happy enough with my choice!!

    Thank you for the excellent works. Especially like your driving on the cloud comment for RX500. I am a happy owner of RX500h F Sport since 6 months ago. Love every moment of it.

      Just picked up my 500h black line special edition. It was hard to find but worth the hunt. Love it. Traded in my SL550. Don’t miss it a bit!

    Thanks for making this video! Haven't really seen anything that compared these two models in the level of detail that you discussed, and definitely learned a lot about the suspension setup across the different RX models. That was pretty cool with the technical differences, which most people don't know about. Really appreciate your comments and deep dive on the 450H+ regarding suspension and driving experience though. Back in July when I test drove the RX500H since we already have a 2023 NX350H in the household, it was basically between the RX450H+ and the 500H model for me. Knew I didn't want the 350H since it would feel underpowered in the bigger and heavier RX. In my area the cost difference between the 450h+ and the 500H was about $5k more for the RX450H+. Plan to own the RX for more than half a decade, so I was already dead set & placed an allocation for a 2025 500H model primarily due to the Direct4 rear-wheel steering & adaptive suspension. It's also going to be a big upgrade to the Accord 2.0T that I'm still keeping which is exactly the same length as the RX and similar 0-60, and am more excited about the rear-wheel steering and looking forward to a much tighter turn radius since I rear-park everywhere. Mainly wanted a 2025 model due to hopes of an all digital customizable MID (which they finally did confirm from a week ago, just like in the TX) and just wanted peace of mind with potential transmission issues that were being reported which fingers crossed they finally fixed in the new model year. But your video along with your other 500H one pretty much aligned with my thoughts and checklist too! Thankfully the F-Sport seats were extremely comfortable for me, so will continue to patiently wait. Will look forward to your other videos, I subscribed!

      Thanks a lot for stopping by and your comments. Makes me happy to get such positive feedback. I was really curious about all the RX trims and quite amazed to find out their differences and noticeable comfort levels. RX500H for sure comes on top. I did hear about transmission issues, yep hopefully Lexus can figure that out and not ding their reputation for reliable cars. Otherwise enjoy RX500h when you get it and thanks for subscribing

    500h seats are horrible. Hard and bolsters aren't comfortable. Big difference when you sit in the 450h+

      Hmm. Thanks for sharing. I found 500h to be comfortable for my test. They are certainly on the firm side but didn't feel bad at all. RX 450h+ would probably feel more comfy.

    Quick Question before to decide the best car model to purchase.
    What's the difference between RX500 F Sport and RX 500 Special Edition ?
    Thank you

      Hey thanks for stopping by. Did you mean RX 500F Sport Black Line Special edition. That is the only one I see different at least here in USA. If that is the one that it is mostly all the Black accents. I checked suspension and it's the same: "F SPORT-tuned suspension, independent MacPherson struts with coil springs, solenoid-actuated shock absorbers, " meaning ride quality will be exactly the same.

      Yeah that was quite surprising to have this arch position of the drive and front passenger seat. Interestingly enough on the 2nd day it was more or less fine. Probably body has adjusted.

    I really don't like the front grill design of rx500h..

      Thanks for sharing. I can see how it can be a bit controversial. Have you tried different colors. One thing I noticed is that in some colors, usually darker colors grills which I typically would not like would look better than let's say in white color or lighter colors in general.

    LOL, the price you mention is the base price. Good luck finding a base model, most have a ton of options that push the price around $75K. I paid 75.5k out the door
    for my 2023 500h F Sport Performance.

    • @100miledrive
      @100miledrive  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your comment. Yes Base MSRP just to get an idea as adding features and options is all depends on how you want to spec it. As far as getting the right deal it also depends on how many dealers you shopped around. I typically shop within 200 miles radius if I am looking for a lease. For buy I can even go to another state.
      I filmed a video on RX 500H F Sport last year and at the time Lexus of Santa Monica, California had close to 30 of them including few Demo models which had few thousand miles, fully loaded and were offered at around $65K. So, if you can also wait and see what's out there you can save quite a bit if there is inventory available. If inventory is scarce - there are no deals for sure.

    I am having a hard time between this car and the bmw x5 s40i with the 7 year extended warranty. They are both around the same price. I hate making choices.

    • @100miledrive
      @100miledrive  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Completely understand. I love BMW's B58 inline-6 engine for it's efficiency and still great power, and yet very reliable. Lexus on the other hand does feel a bit more modern and in some ways more sophisticated. Since I would go by driving dynamics more I think I would opt for X5 with low miles like less than 30K, but that is just me.

    • @tae912
      @tae912 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I had the same problem. REALLY wanted to lean towards BMW X5 xdrive50e mostly cause of the interior and sportiness without sacrifice Too much on mpg...
      BUT. At the end of the day, regardless of 58 engine, it is still known to have expensive repairs/high maintenance, while Lexus Rx have long history of reliability (more peace of mind). The 40i trim has low MPG so expect to spend more money on gas too, and the price. And Fully Loaded RX is priced same as no package/few package option for BMW X5. And lastly, BMW X5 depreciates sooooo much after 2-3 years while Lexus maintains its value much better 😭
      This is all not an issue if I have a lot of money to just burn or I'm just leasing for few years... But personally, I am looking for daily driver that I am planning to keep for more than 8-10 years. BMW X5 is much more attractive for me, but when keeping my impulse in check, Lexus RX seems more like the logical choice...

      @ I went with the Lexus rx 450h+. When I’m older and have enough retirement funds to last me for the rest of my life I’ll go back to bmw but so far I’m enjoying the Lexus.

      Hi there, thanks for the comment. So if back pain is a huge issue then in Luxury segment look for cars with Air Suspension like Mercedes GLE or X5 with air suspension. In non luxury class you simply want bigger SUVs as they tend to be designed more for comfort like Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot etc… Highly recommend renting a car for at least few hours and really spend time with it. Many things don’t reveal themselves until you spend more time with a car.
