All performers go through two weeks of riding training with all types of scenarios that could happen on parade route if their characters ride horses and any type of November
@@Wheels518 That looks like *way* more than two weeks of riding experience - her hips stay glued to the horse during the bucks, she was ready to go up with the rear, and she doesn't crouch forward until she's looking for a chance to dismount (...looks like she's talking to the handlers on the ground..) and then times the dismount and is calmly down... That's the sort of comfort with bucking that usually takes a couple years and an experience with bucking to develop.
Yup. I've been on a horse that spooked. It is scary. She kept her head, and her seat, and did what she had to. She took the first safe chance to dismount. Good call.
Lol- also? I know the balloon was the catalyst for this whole shit show for poor Jacob (the horse) but we have to give props to how strong that freaking balloon is 😂
This is an old comment, but what makes a dismount different from an emergency dismount? Just the fact that the horse is freaking out, or is it also a physically different technique?
Nornally you would dismount by putting all your weight on one leg stand on the stirrup and raising the other to go over the horse and to the ground. If you imagine the movement, you can easily realize that doing that with a crazed horse could be extrememly dangerous as by moving he could simply throw off your balance and make you fall, maybe with one of your feet still stuck in the stirrup, and drag you around or kick you. The emergency dismount is all about finding good timing, strongly holding onto the horse's maine with your hands and kind of leaning on him, letting go of your stirrups first to free your legs, and sliding down the side at the right moment.
Poor horse. She was just frightened by the balloon. I hope she’s alright. This is why you tie the balloon to your child’s wrist! That’s like balloon parenting 101 😂
Ryan Stannard exactly you guys want the stuff so Disney sells it the best respected follow the rules control your kids accident or not even if you have to hold the balloon for a bit that a parents job
As an ex cast member, I do firmly believe child leashes are a fantastic idea for kids at Disney for safety. However, it doesn't appear that it would have done a thing in this situation. Kid accidentally let go of the balloon. Merida did a wonderful job staying on and dismounting when safe, the handlers did great soothing and handling Jacob the horse, and the parade team was on standby but not getting involved and adding more issues. Overall, it was handled exactly how I expect cm's to handle it, wonderfully.
I know this is like 11 months ago, but agreed, leash wouldn't have done a thing here. Balloons should always be tied down in some way though, even just to the kid's wrist or stroller (if they're that young) and that would have prevented this. The team did a great job!
@@TC-ep5hy not sure if they make it but like a weight for the balloon to be tied down to so even if u drop the balloon it stays down hmm but agree with you!!
This Clydesdales name is Jacob and is gentle as lamb . He is always used as Merida's horse in the parades and for Disney Fairytale Weddings upon request .He was our carriage horse and follows commands very well. Thats how they calmed him down so quickly .
I wasn't sure if this was Jacob or not (after all, horses can look similar). In that case, no surprise. I've met this horse twice and he's been an absolute gentleman in the face of the endless insanity that is WDW (from a horse's perspective).
Yes this is Jacob! He came to Disney in 2008 as a colt after his mom abandoned him. We got to see him when he arrived and he was the cutest little guy. We go over to see hime every time we are in Disney and watched him grow up through the years. Now he is the tallest horse they have and he is absolutely stunning!
That’s nothing compared to what is equestrian go through we get bucked, trampled, thrown, bitten, crushed, stepped on and we still get back on she should not have gotten off she should be able to calm the horse down on her own no matter the situation if she knows how to ride but she doesnt

@@nikkibullas4884 she was not brace because there were two people holding the horse as if she was a beginner rider at a lesson going on a trail ride at a camp, honestly shame on them for not putting a actual rider on the horse
Merida grabbed the reigns with both hands even before the balloon touched the horse. She saw it coming and reacted so quickly. She's definitely skilled with horses.
Definitely Girl she rlly is from a movie , coming from an equestrian they handled this so well, u can tell the horse is treated well. And that they had a real rider riding and helping out. They calmed him amazingly!!
@@kenny6912 That's like 2 tons of horse. I would want an experienced rider, especially since you never know what crazy bullsh#t tourists are going to do.
If the dad hadn't been watching his kid, they would have made it all the way to the horse and may have ended up getting hurt. The balloon being released by the kid as the dad did his job and pulled them back was a byproduct, but he DID keep his kid away from the horse. It was definitely an unfortunate situation and I'm sad that it happened, but without having his kid on a leash (I have complicated feelings about child leashes), he did the best that could have been expected when his kid started dashing out into the street. The speed at which kids do such things means the dad WAS watching his kid, and showed admirable reflexes in preventing this from being worse. Props go to all cast members involved in this situation (Merida, the horse handlers, and that manager, even the stage hand who followed Merida offstage to make sure she was okay). This could have ended VERY badly and instead only resulted in some frayed nerves. These cast members turned an unfortunate situation into a minor hiccup instead of the disaster that it could have ended up as. My only qualm is the mom who asks her kid why she's crying. BECAUSE THERE'S A HORSE IN DISTRESS AND SHE KNOWS IT AND IS PROBABLY A BIT SCARED. I would have cried too, at her age. You can't hold kids to the "hold it in" standard that adults hold themselves to. She "Let It Go" and let her feelings show. This is something that should not result in the kid being chastised. Let the kid who tried to run out to Merida know that there are times that you cannot just run out into a performance, but also kids who react to what they see (especially in such unprecedented times where kids are trying to process a LOT of bad news) shouldn't be chastised for showing emotion.
I'm impressed. The horse must be really well trained to calm down so quickly. Horses get spooked easily and when they do, they won't stay still for anybody. It's why, when a horse spooks themself in an arena, everybody just lets it run around the arena for a while to calm itself down before even attempting to approach it. The horse let the handlers stay near him, and calmed down in what, like 20 seconds? That's good training, and shows good trust between handler and horse. Elsewise that horse would have broken away from the handlers and run amock (nobody can control a giant horse like that if the horse doesn't want them to)
Disney actually has a rigorous training program for all horses that come to their ranch and will be used IN the parks. Tons of desensitization, tons of exposure to noises, people, etc. In this situation you can see the horse brace his hind end to see if whatever was touching him would stop, when it didn’t that’s when his horse instinct of “get it away” kicked in, also doesn’t help he couldn’t see what was “attacking” him. Props to the handlers and “Merida”, kept his feet moving in a circle to prevent a dead bolt down the slippery street, got him calm and all ended well. ZERO PROPS to the parent who allowed their kid to let a damn balloon go.
Clydesdales are beautiful horses, but when spooked.. look out. Glad that Disney at least invested some thought into the people handling the lovely horse, and thank goodness the actress portraying Miranda knew what to do. I was 'oh dear', but she handled it pro style!
To the lady who asked the child “ why are you crying for “ please educate yourself on how seriously fatal that could’ve ended for both horse and rider. I’m sure no apology would been made from her as she clearly thought it was fine. Two amazing staff on the ground keeping hold Kudos
I feel bad for the kid. It clearly upset them seeing the horse get scared and the commotion after and the mom just dismissed them with ‘what’re you crying for?!’ Tell your kids everything is okay lady, reassure them, wtf.
thanks for saying what I was thinking. She's crying because she is a tender child/human being with compassion...(for animals and people) and more brains than "mom" apparently to see this situation as potentially dangerous to horse and people.
This is not a bad horse, its just a horse doing what comes naturally to him, do love draught horses❤, i think belle should ride Philippe and have a ride together with Merida and Angus
Those Handlers deserve a raise for saving the situation. Also Merida deserves a raise to for being able to handle the situation without breaking character.

"What are you crying for!!". Lady, the little kid understandably got frightened by a big horse getting spooked and jumping around near her. Little girl was probably also afraid that Merida might get hurt. SMH
For real...the audacity of the woman sayubg that to the child. In my mind, she would have gotten bibbidi-bobbidi-BOOPED in the face. Some adults can be so insensitive.
I like how they handled the situation well, especially the person playing Merida, she is very skilled at emergency dismounts, but anyways, I like how they did not hurt the horse but gained its trust to say "Its alright, you'll be fine." its very happy seeing people not straight up discipline the animal because of something that startled it. What most people dont understand is that horses are pray animals and were evolved to be so. :)
I just LOVE how she performed that dismount, very safe and well done. good on the employees aswell for calming him down in the best manner that they could.
And she was wearing that flowing costume when she dismounted!!! This was an accident that turned out well, there would have been a lot of injuries otherwise.
I love how Merida fully prepared by holding the reins a little tighter because she saw the balloons wrapping around the legs a bit. She immediately prepared for this situation in just a second and she stayed in the saddle in a prefect way. She's truly a amazing princess with riding skills. Also, i love how calm the employees stayed with the horse and how carefully they tried to calm it down and protect the people around from any danger. It takes a lot of skill and strength to keep a horse that big calm and with you. I hate the woman asking the girl ''why are you crying?'' Like woman, there's a big horse nearby that's scared, a princess that might be in danger and a situation she wasn't expecting. What did you expect her to do? Laugh and be all okay even though it's happening right in front of her?
Honestly, it’s impressive how little he reacted. The bigger draft breeds tend to be calmer and less reactive but still, he must have had some good training. Maybe they should do some more work with balloons, though, lol.
For the most part the horse handled it very well. Remember they’re fight or flight animals and it’s their natural instinct. You can’t really train natural instinct out of the horse
Most horses get training with stuff they will and may encounter. So if you have a parade horse you work them around banners and noises (like bands and random yelling) and even balloons. But like everyone said no matter how used to something a horse gets, a surprise is a surprise.
It can be used as gender neutral when you can’t tell if the horse is male or female. It’s not disrespectful and the horse certainly doesn’t care.. and yes excited is used in the horse world sometimes when meaning a horse is not being calm. Not always in a happy way.
Situation beautifully handled by the cast. "Merida" rode that beautifully, great seat. Kudos to the handlers who knew exactly what to do. Extra carrots for "Angus" who, though spooked, allowed himself to trust his handlers and didn't bolt.
bless angus, he was so scared. you can tell he was doing it out of genuine fear. was so glad to see the handlers patting him well done after he calmed down a little.
I love how they weren't afraid to get stomped or kicked, they just cared about calming the horse down so others wouldn't get hurt, give 👏them 👏a 👏 raise 👏 Edit: 2k likes? Thats amazing, thank yall so much 💕😭
@@paluca9859 I know, I own a horse myself and my uncle works with them, I know the force they have in their legs and the damage they can make. Thats why I think we should give them credit for managing the situation in such a way they dont demostrate they're scared because that would make the horse panic.
Poor thing was probably spooked. You should never approach an animal from behind for this exact reason, they will freak out. When he felt something wrap around his back legs, it triggered a natural instinct to buck it away. Merida did a fantastic job reigning Jacob in, as well as the cast by her side for calming Jacob down. Good work all around by the cast and crew!
Prey response to predators. Simple as that. The sensation that something's trying to take it down from the rear...doesn't even matter if it's light (balloon weight!) pressure.
The horse, the handlers, and the rider all handled themselves extremely well in this incident. The horse calmed down even with the "predator" still attached to his leg, listening to his handlers telling him it's OK. The rider did an awesome job of performing an emergency dismount in a long dress and jumping clear. Horses, regardless of size and presence, are big chickens. They run first, think later. It says a lot for this horse's training and his innate temperament that he did not drag the whole crew all the way to the stable area.

@@2BigFooted Actually I can. Maybe you can’t? I reiterated what this commenter said by pointing out that this situation could have been a lot worse with an inexperienced rider or inexperienced handlers.
By the looks of it, wasn't a random woman. She was keeping pace with the parade & watching the horse, second horse acted up she ran in, also didn't try to get the balloon while the horse was freaked out at the end, random person would've immediatly tried to get the balloon from the horses leg- woman knew the horse was spooked still & could kick, so she was waiting with a gentle touch to the flank. Body language is someone who seems to know the horse.
0:19 The balloon had a weight attached to the string shaped like a Mickey head, visible in the video. It appears the balloon's string weight was tossed towards the horse purposefully. It could have been a child but looking at the man's motion in the bottom right corner of the footage right before it is tossed, that makes me think it was him.
Are you insane? No a grown adult didn't throw a balloon at a horse. The child was holding it and tried to run closer to Merida, and the man stopped the kid, who then let go of their balloon.
It looks like the dad or his kid threw it- it hits the ground and skids before getting caught, and a women with them goes “wow really?” as if she knew they did it
@@charliemacsart The dad wasn't holding onto the kid with a one ton horse passing by. The kid tried to run out to see Merida, dad grabbed the kid, but the kid let go of the balloon and momentum carried it forward. Hard to tell if the person saying 'wow, really' was mad at the dad for not watching the kid closely enough, or if they expected the horse to handle it better. Either way, you should make sure you're firmly holding your children when a draft horse walks by. It's asking for disaster if you're not.
Wow. I do love how it was handled. They just held the horse and had them calm down. Great job by the CMs! I'm also glad that Merida hopped off and no one got hurt.
YESS! SO GLAD to see how good they treated the horse trying to calm her down properly. Was afraid they’d get aggressive screaming and waving their arms around. Merida stayed calm too. They really could not have done it any better. Great job 👏

Also, I used to live in Orlando and would go to Disney a lot (knew lots of people that worked there). That lady bitching at the little girl for crying is, unfortunately, a very typical adult-child interaction at the theme parks. They get very short with the kids they're traveling with and it's really embarrassing to see them making hell out of what's supposed to be a good time.
It’s unfortunate but its just normal family behavior. Believe it or not people get short tempered with their family members when they’re in hot humid conditions with packed crowds and hurting feet from waiting in lines all day. It’s expected, Disney’s not the most comfortable place but it’s definitely the most magical.
U can tell the horse was trying to stay calm but was still very concerned if he was going to get hurt by what was on his legs as soon as he realized it won't hurt him he calmed down
The Disney staff and the actress playing Merida on the horse handled the entire situation admirably! I'm happy to see that neither the horse nor any of the people were injured. Disney should really give the actress and the handlers a bonus for calming a potentially dangerous situation.
ya what a joke poor kids sorry but I dont think kids should be at disney in florida right now anyways with the number climbing . they put their fingers in their mouths all the time . that kid will remember that about disney for the rest of her life .

She stayed calm, kept her seat and then emergancy dismounted and avoided the rear. Also the handlers didn't freak out or further spook the horse. They calmed it down. Perfectly done!
Merida handled that like a PRO as did the handlers! And I have to say, that is still a VERY WELL trained horse. It could have gotten REALLY BAD but he calmed down pretty quickly. I'm glad everyone is okay. A balloon caught on my foot would spook me too!!
And situations like this are exactly what those handlers are for, great job!! And great job to the CM Merida for how she was able to ride and dismount to let the horse handlers calm it down. Well done.

Kudos to the whole staff involved for keeping the animal, all of the actors, and the crowd safe! People, please remember, to keep common sense in mind when you are a bystander at parades! @@meganfedor I know that. That Merida clearly rides and what idiot would have inexperienced horse handlers handling horses in a parade? And the lack of concern from most of those bystanders was scary. People don’t tend to realize how dangerous horses are or how fast they can move when they want to. I was once with a group of new riders who were putting a horse back in his field and didn’t know why I told them to stop at the gate. They were shocked when a galloping horse came into view and at how quickly he was moving (I’d heard him coming, they didn’t know what a gallop sounds like).
Merida would of had to take at least 2-3 lessons before she would be allowed to be on that horse. I wouldn’t call her an equestrian but she definitely knew some stuff about being around horses so that’s good
That was a perfect display of horsemanship on all those employees parts. Including the rider. Exactly. Not to mention the spectators could have gotten hurt too. Horses can move very fast if they want to, and even the best handlers can lose control of a spooking horse (if only temporarily).
@Just_Tato actually look again, there is a small child just under the camera's view. Looks like dad tried to grab it not throw it. Maybe a small boy, it is a blue balloon, the older girl had a pink one just like it. Maybe the small child threw it. You can see the dad look down and speak with someone.
Merida is still on Character after dismounting the horse. You can tell how well trained both the cast member and the princess characters are at any given situation.
Merida did an amazing job handling that. Great job to all the CMs who stayed composed and handled the situation well. Hope the poor horse got some good treats after that
That was a heart pounding moment. How Merida could stay on like that. Even as a professional - what sudden movements and yet she stayed on and hopped off with some real quick thinking. Yes, the mom got snappy and it wasn’t right I agree. I agree with all of you and yet I have to forgive her. It was one moment in time and I’m sure she’s had better parenting moments. The main thing is that the horse, staff and visitors were safe in the end. Of course a round of applause for the horse handlers and Merida’s actress. Way to go!
Why would you forgive a Karen who disrespects her daughter instead of calming her at a family park? You don't even know her. I know a Karen when I study their nasty attitude. Nobody likes Karen's.
Disneyfan82 Because it’s the right thing to do and hating her for it carries a dead weight. No one is perfect and a two second or less clip of her saying that one phrase does not define her or her parenting. @Nob the Knave Controlling???? First of all, it was HER kid that ran out into the parade and accidentally lost the balloon. If they had of been doing any controlling we never would have arrived at this place. Second, she's not wearing her mask properly so she's not even in control of herself and third, yelling at her other kid to not cry or be scared tells me she clearly has no idea how scary this whole situation was to adults let alone a child. There was no adult control here at all, just poor parenting! She should have been comforting and assuring her scared child, not chastising her for being scared.

She actually gently presses on that horse to try to turn the hips but it's just a hair too late. Not her fault at all. Beautiful control and great work throughout.
Yeah that is true she was ready for what's coming she really is Merida she was Very Brave if it was any one else the actress would be screaming her head off
Those handlers are lucky this horse didn't decide to rear up and throw them around like a ragdoll. Horses, especially this one of this size have incredible power and strength.
Why did the mother turn around with anger saying, "What are you crying for?" What happened is very traumatic for a kid. The mother should've embraced her and said "It's ok. Everything will be fine. The horse will be fine and the princess too. Lets make sure everyone's ok, ok?" And then proceed to approach the workers and let her know the situation is ok. Gosh... my mom did something like the Mom in this vid and it's hurtful to be yelled at after something like that happens.
I thought she was the big sis. She seems too young for a girl that age to be her daughter.. obviously still possible but seems more likely it’s the big sis getting annoyed at her little sister as sisters do. Still not right but more a common thing
I almost completely agree with your comment, apart from the part about going up to the workers whilst they're trying to de escalate a bad situation, you need to stay back from the handlers and give them some room whilst they calm down the horse. Not to mention the fact that we're in the midst of a global pandemic and need to be social distancing wherever possible anyway.

@@homeiswonderland it is definitely different because you gotta find good timing and the way you go down is different as the horse is moving
@scarlett8895 The only way that is EVER taught to dismount, is to take both feet out of stirrups to prevent any risk of being dragged.

In the horse's defense, the balloon straight up came at it out of nowhere.
The guy in the white shirt and beige hat tossed the plastic piece at the end of the string at the horse's leg.

Right?! 😂 Accidents happen but yes tie to stroller, kids wrist, back pack, anything works lol

Freak accident, don't act like you've never made a mistake.
Overall, it was handled exactly how I expect cm's to handle it, wonderfully.
do they lead the horses for the rider/cast safety even if they know how to ride? I notice there’s always a handler
So you worked for and with a bunch of pedophiles. Disney is disgusting.
I know this is like 11 months ago, but agreed, leash wouldn't have done a thing here. Balloons should always be tied down in some way though, even just to the kid's wrist or stroller (if they're that young) and that would have prevented this. The team did a great job!

Now he is the tallest horse they have and he is absolutely stunning!

great job on all the cast member parts including Merida keeping calm and getting the horse to relax they handled that situation like a pro
They are pros.
And this,my friends,is why the cast members say “Watch Your Children” to avoid stuff like this!!
Dude same! They say it every time on rides and shows! And on the shuttles!
Looks like the dumb guy in the video slid it towards the horse.
Parents can watch their kids as much as possible but it takes one second for something to happen. Luckily there wasn’t any kids involved.
Shit happens relax Jesus I’m sure those workers know it was a pure accident.
Elsewise that horse would have broken away from the handlers and run amock (nobody can control a giant horse like that if the horse doesn't want them to)
They did a great job of keeping control of a large powerful animal, keeping him turning in circles to keep him from deciding to take off running.
In my experience draft horses tend to be calmer and less high strung than light horses. Easier to calm down.
Especially with all that loud ass music. This is the main reason I don’t go to Disney. Their music is so loud you can’t even talk to people
Merida jumped off like it was nothing. I'm impressed with the cm playing her obviously rides horses before.
i would believe they do put experienced riders on a live horse & they don't just put any cast member on a horse in a costume
Usually they don't have experience. Just the handlers

It’s unfortunate but its just normal family behavior. I know that. That Merida clearly rides and what idiot would have inexperienced horse handlers handling horses in a parade? And the lack of concern from most of those bystanders was scary.

The year is whatever you make it. Not everybody has to collectively feel the same way about something.
Imagine being the kid who’s balloon that was, bro I’d be shitting myself😂
That was a perfect display of horsemanship on all those employees parts. Including the rider. Props to disney for having people that actually knew how to handle and com the horse and for having an equestrian for the rider instead of someone that didn’t know how to ride. That was awesome! If I had been there I would have clapped.
Hello
Wow. She’s a bloody awesome rider to sit calmly through all that! My hat goes off to her!
That was an amazing emergency dismount! The two walkers handled the horse well and kept everyone safe.
props to the actress for staying calm throughout this! this is why animals should not be used for entertainment.
her seat was amazing! she was calm, she dismounted gracefully! props to her and the employees for keeping the horse and everyone else safe!
Man, they did such a good job. Kept everyone safe including the horse.
Mom to daughter: "Why are you crying?"
Really? Probably because she was scared that someone might get hurt? Sad that the poor horse couldn't get that balloon off it's foot thus making it more and more spooked?
If a kid (or anyone for that matter) is crying the last thing they need is to be yelled at. That's never worked. I hate seeing parents at the store threatening their kid if they don't stop crying. **oh i see you are clearly upset! if you don't stop being upset i'm gonna do something that will upset you! That will stop you being upset** PROBLEM SOLVED!! 🤦🏻♀️ most of the time the emotions are stronger than even the original motivation that started it. hell as an adult, when i'm arguing with loved ones and become emotional there is often a point where im just so overwhelmed that i can't think logically anymore so i have to take a pause and be reminded what the problem even was in the first place and why it really does matter to me and affects me so deeply and most importantly, what the most desirable and productive outcome of the situation actually is! That's ALOT to ask from a child!
I figured that was her older sister haha
I don't think that was a mom, but a teenage sister. And yeah she clearly has no empathy.
Lol teenage sister?! that's a mean mom, not a sister. She's got a wedding ring on and the scowly face of a cranky mom.
Jezz Bish She is the mother, or at least she’s with the group that lost the balloon. Which makes it even worse 🙄
Props to the handlers and actress being actual professionals, situations like these are why it’s important to hire depending on credentials.
"What are you crying for?!" First of all, Karen, no need to take off your mask while speaking. It's just fabric and not a sound barricade. Secondly please learn some basic skills in empathy. Your child is scared. Comfort and not yell at it. To be frightened by a gigantic horse going wild is a natural reaction and proof of their common sense.
I agree with your comment entirely, apart from the mask part; they do kinda muffle your speaking 😅
@@pobdog6385 well but certainly not enough to not hear her screaming. And in any other case just raise your voice a little bit and don't take it off. It's that easy. We're not supposed to touch our faces anyways so...
@@beamaria4273 The Karen here, is the one staring at you in the mirror... 🙃
And to get all offended about a piece of clothe being removed from one's face? Priceless. 🤣
Put a blanket over a speaker then try saying that fabric cant affect sound. Silly take
She was outside and speaking at a family member.... so I doubt it did harm. But yes, masks do muffle your voice. I have a slight hearing impairment, and although I'm 100% supportive of masking it does make it harder to understand someone
i’m sorry but the mom or older sister or whoever to the kid who let the ballon go really
just boiled my blood!! the horse could’ve seriously injured itself, the princess, any of the workers around, and not think of the worst scenario. the kid was smart enough to realize what events were happening and what COULD have happened.
Exactly. Not to mention the spectators could have gotten hurt too. Horses can move very fast if they want to, and even the best handlers can lose control of a spooking horse (if only temporarily).
It almost looks like they threw it out there on purpose
It really does look like the dad just tossed the plastic out there doesn't it.
Especially since she was at disney during a pandemic.
@Just_Tato actually look again, there is a small child just under the camera's view. Looks like dad tried to grab it not throw it. Maybe a small boy, it is a blue balloon, the older girl had a pink one just like it. Maybe the small child threw it. You can see the dad look down and speak with someone.
glad they actually calmed the horse instead of just holding it tighter, props to that
Merida is still on Character after dismounting the horse. You can tell how well trained both the cast member and the princess characters are at any given situation.
Merida did an amazing job handling that. Great job to all the CMs who stayed composed and handled the situation well. Hope the poor horse got some good treats after that
Hello
I work with children and I am working one on one with a toddler and I can’t imagine what it is like to work from home and occupy a child’s attention at the same time all day. He can be really frustrating and it can be hard to stay positive. I said that I agreed with other statements. It was not right. It was not respectful, but what mother is 24/7 let alone any human, right? I am not a parent but as a student and Now as an ECE, working in this field I have gotten a feel for it. It does not look easy to say the least.
@@amykeith9426 Fine, but I don't care what that person does with their life, which is none of my business. But whatever crap she deals with does not justify or excuse her insecure, immature, childish behavior to her child or being inconsiderate to others out in public places and especially fun places where she is old enough to know better than to behave like a spoiled whiny brat.
Disneyfan82 I don’t care either and I never justified her actions. All I’m saying is that she isn’t perfect and it’s hard to judge someone based on one moment of their life. You don’t need to reply to this. It’s not worth conversing over anymore especially considering the fact that we don’t honestly care about this random woman whom we do not know.
@@amykeith9426 As you wish. But I don't care what life this Karen is living. She needs to grow up and be a real mother, not a bitch.
Jesus, that lady going "WHAT ARE YOU CRYING FOR?" I'd be crying too if I was a little girl seeing Merida almost getting bucked off a horse!
She sounded so rude
She wasn't crying because Merida almost got bucked off a horse. She was crying because it was her balloon that caused the horse to freak out like that. She accidentally lost her grip of it. You can see when it in the video.
She crying because her balloon is what caused the whole thing. Not on purpose but still
I think it was the little girls balloon too that got away. She was probably upset that she caused this.
Rude mother your daughter is frightened
The horse behaved really well actually. That could have been so much worse. What a good boy.
The child is crying because she's scared about what's happening. They do that, Commander Data 🙄
@Nob the Knave Controlling? You call not understanding why a child is crying "controlling"? Good to see what kind of parent you are. I'm glad I'm not your kid.
jackskellingtonsora I mean chiding then for having feelings is definitely controlling, but it’s definitely not a good thing. I hope Nob over there never has kids, they’ll all be emotionally stunted.
WHAT ARE YOU CRYING FOUR
@Nob the Knave Controlling???? First of all, it was HER kid that ran out into the parade and accidentally lost the balloon. If they had of been doing any controlling we never would have arrived at this place. Second, she's not wearing her mask properly so she's not even in control of herself and third, yelling at her other kid to not cry or be scared tells me she clearly has no idea how scary this whole situation was to adults let alone a child. There was no adult control here at all, just poor parenting! She should have been comforting and assuring her scared child, not chastising her for being scared.
Mom is a Karen
That Horse is Me. When Seaweed Slides Across my feet.
Those horse trainers WERE AMAZING
Came to the comments to find a "ThaTs HoRse ABuSe!!!" And I'm pleasantly surprised to see that there aren't any (at least at the top)
The rider is amazing, looks like she took some lessons and big praise to her (and the handlers!!!) For not freaking out.
The situation stayed under control.
The horse did amazing! Really well trained and desensitized, took the scary situation really well
The handler and cast members did such a great job! Obviously a spooked horse can be a very dangerous situation..especially a breed of that size.
Clydesdale
There’s nothing wrong with her profile pic, especially when three officers were ambushed and killed this past week.
@@nightflyer3242 how come?
@@nightflyer3242 Thank you.
If you saw - Merida saw the balloon coming and tightened her grip and prepared to hold on -
She actually gently presses on that horse to try to turn the hips but it's just a hair too late. Not her fault at all. Beautiful control and great work throughout.
0:26 i think the horse head hits merida's head ? I dunno if it's just the angle tho
@@yoonglescomfydumb0309 That's definitely the angle 😘
Yeah that is true she was ready for what's coming she really is Merida she was Very Brave if it was any one else the actress would be screaming her head off
She sat that so beautifully and they handled the situation so well! I’m impressed
Those handlers are lucky this horse didn't decide to rear up and throw them around like a ragdoll. Horses, especially this one of this size have incredible power and strength.
As a horse rider myself i could see no harm was done in this parade even when the horse freaked out so good
As someone who's never ridden a horse I could see that too. Stop boasting
As a human with two eyes, I can confirm that no harm was done
I doubt this is traumatizing lmao, but its an uncomfortable situation for the kid, she probably felt guilty.
@@fonalilana5848 in a situation like this, if the person talking to her is her mother then that could lead to the girl thinking that her mother doesn’t care about her feelings and will get annoyed at her for having emotions, which could lead to the kid keeping everything to themselves. overall, even if their relationship isn’t toxic in general, the person acting that way is being very toxic and unsympathetic.
@@songgie what a load of bullshit. Keep treating your kids like theyre made out of sugar that will just make them victims forever.
"What? What are you crying for?"
Because the child still has emotions and knows she's done something wrong, even if it was an accident. You're teaching that child not to care for others...
Orrrrr, you've already corrupted her so much that she's crying because now her balloon is gone. Never mind the people and the animal that were in danger.
Heaven forbid the animal freaked out and a customer was harmed. You'd probably ask for it to be put down. Clearly an untrainable, wild beast. smh
Good job to Merida and the other cast members for getting the situation under control. Lord knows you don't get paid enough for it. Much love!
Everyone is saying dream job for staying calm, but what I’m really proud of is that everyone was gentle to the horse. Many, many people would have been so aggressive and harmful to the horse at other amusement-y places, yanked on the bit and whipping it to calm down. Clearly these people actually know how horses are.
and that he was afraid of the horse everyone is afraid of a horse
The cast member playing Merida kept her seat beautifully.
Frankly Disney is so impressive, that was a resolved so efficiently, all parties involved knew exactly what to do.
0:50 "What are you crying for?!"
Why do I have the feeling that woman is a pageant mom in real life?
I highly doubt it. But hey maybe she can dream that...
I'm glad the performer as Merida got off the horse before she was thrown off by the horse and had more serious injuries and thanks to the handlers for their quick reflexes into calming the horse.
How her wig stayed on I'll never know. Well done though, she handled it perfectly.

SNAKE !! Parents need to tie balloons, not tightly, to their kids arms, everywhere. Not just at Disney. For the security of the child as well.
That is a very good emergency dismount. Props to them for soothing the horse when it stopped instead of getting frustrated.
