This video has really helped point out a flaw of mine (my hamartia lol) that I have been doing in tests and that is I tend to drift off the question into separate ideas relating to Macbeth. This has shown me how I can expand on my ideas and attain a higher level than my past papers as I am a couple months into Year 10 which I am very thankful for, Also, an amazing depiction of Lady Macbeth and her lustful approach towards ambition, as she dominates her relationship with Macbeth using him as a pawn to maintain her facade while also attaining power. Her character is really intriguing and I really like that one quote when she talks about if she made a word to kill a baby, even if she was in the moment of its preciousness she would still go through and kill it. Terrible, I know. But this really goes to show how a innocent heart and evil mind is a great combination, I feel like I could talk about her characteristics forever. :D

Hi Miss I really love your teaching and trust me your better than my school teachers and i wish u were teaching me in English i mean who would not understand you. Today Im in Year 10 and i really need your help in Macbeth, Power and Conflict, Christmas Carol and Inspector Calls i wanna achieve a grade 8 or 9 in English and i can only achieve it with ur help and support. I really struggle with analysing like making paraghraphs like i really struugle and i need ur help im sitting mocks next june and i dont wannna FAIL💔😖
This was really helpful thanks! However, when it comes to answering any question i cant think of many reasons thorougly, how do i find deep analysis of the question in the exam because, when i read the question at first i couldnt really think/see much clear evidence of the relationship until it was analysed
Good question! I think even before you go into the exam - you need to have some ideas of the key relationships between the characters and what you can discuss. Prior to practicing any past question map out 4/5 points you can say the main relationships (Macbeth & Lady Macbeth; Macbeth & the Witches, etc). This will make it easier to find key talking points when looking at exam questions like this.
in your first paragraph in modal answer, there was the PEEL in the entire thing. For the first paragraphh, do i do a PEEL on the first bullet point of the question. Then do i do another PEEL on the second? i do get confused fairly easily so i will ask this. i got my exam tomorrow and i dont want to fail :D ( i got 3a in literature in mocks :( )
I think i now understand. The first paragraph is the PEEL of the first bullet point the second paragraph is the PEEL to the second bullet point. The third paragraph is talking about the relationship of the two in the play before the piece of extract. (the theme will be different for the new one) The fourth paragraph is talking about the relationship of the two in the play after the piece of extract. (the theme will be different for the new one) If you see this comment, please could you replay with saying im correct or if i should add anything to it ( ideally before the exam, but i dont know your timezone) Thank youu
If you can write 3 well developed paragraphs from the extract and 2 from elsewhere in the play (context & themes also included) then you're definitely looking at max grades
as a student at the end of y10, i really struggle with english lit. i can plan and find a point for each paragraph, but never know what to write for an explanation. how do i improve?
when writing about else where in the story do you have to include exactly what act it was or can you say if it was after or before the act they give you?
i would either provide the act and scene, or describe like where it was, for example after Banquo was killed, it’s probably better if you include both, but it’s good to at least know where it is in the play
@@sameeha3581 it deffo does. my eng teacher said if you have an amazing and clear introduction (dk ab conclusion ive heard its not rly relevant) and good paragraphs then you can get get a 7+
I love your content so much. Thank you for taking the time to help GCSE students. I just don't understand how these points would give you a grade 8. Aren't these points too similar and keep referencing how LM is dominant and manipulative of Macbeth (except from when Macbeth becomes distant)?

dont you have to use structure and form too?
when writing about else where in the story do you have to include exactly what act it was or can you say if it was after or before the act they give you?

is there apaper 2 for this
Please can you do one for OCR please, this would really help me to develop my answer. 😀

Hi, I have followed your steps and wrote 4 paragraphs but I keep getting a 4 for my mocks. Can you please help me out?
It might be to do with your analysis and how u write about shakespeares intention
Make sure to link it back to the question and to context
