How to Plant Oriental Lilies Bulb

- Hello everyone. In this video, I will share with you my technique on how to plant oriental lilies bulbs indoor during winter time. I prefer to plant oriental lilies bulb in small red cups in the beginning. I will repot this oriental lilies on a bigger container and I will share with you also the second phase on the follow up video coming soon.

Usually when you buy plants online it can be pricey as this companies need to pay for marketing. These oriental lilies bulb are good deal since I bought it at Costco.

Oo sis,malalaki ang bulbs nang oriental lilies. May part 2 pa yang video kaya lang need ko pa mag wait maybe one to two months para mapakita ang pag bloom.

Maraming plants pa coming soon bunso kaso it takes time to grow them kasi it’s either I grow them from seeds or from bulbs. It pays off naman in the end.

Quite a detailed video. Thanks. Could u pl suggest when to water the bulbs. Also should there not be a drainage hole in the cups?
The red cups needs at least one drainage hole. I watered the bulbs at least once a week. Just to let you know I planted these lilies bulbs in the red cups for me to be able to keep them inside the house to control temperature. I usually do this in some of my plants to have a headstart.

Good day @Kathy Frank. Oriental lilies blooms during summer and sometimes up to fall. So, if you are to plant them, do so during Spring time. I will probably make another video of this next year from bulbs to flowers to show its growth process. If you are to plant them this time in container or in the ground, you may have issues with temperature fluctuating. Oriental lilies prefer warm soil. Hope that helps.

Hello Shiro. I purchased my lilies tubers from Costco here in California. Meron ding mga available lilies bulbs from longfield-gardens.com. Hindi ko lang alam kung saan makabili nang lilies bulbs sa Pinas.

Great video. Why do you plant them in the red cups first? I plant mine directly in my pots. Should I plant my lily bulbs in cups before I plant them in the pots? Thank you 😊
Hello @Wanda Singer. Since it’s still cold outside when I bought my oriental lilies bulb, I decided to give them a head start by planting them in red cups first. You can plant them directly in containers or in the ground. I’m impatient when it comes to planting.

I like the varieties of your oriental hybrid stargazer lilies.. I hate my varieties because I have a selection of yellow which I don't like... I would rather have a replacement of the bicolour of pink and white instead of the yellow...

I have some stargazers. I did not get to plant them a little sooner. I have been trying to find out is it too hot now to plant them. Should I wait until fall. No site says. It just talks about lilys etc, etc. But they dont say one way or another if its too late to plant them
Hello Ms. Channel Princess. Welcome to my channel. One thing to remember is Oriental lilies like Stargazers bloom mid-summer to late summer. I planted mine last March. If I were you, I will give it a try to plant your stargazers now. They should grow fine since it's warmer now. Try to use Espoma Biotone Starter Plus as a fertilizer when you plant your bulbs to give it a boost. That should help your Stargazers bulb roots grow faster and stronger. Remember they will die back/go dormant during winter. At that time your bulbs should have multiplied. I hope this helps.
