In this video, I'm sharing with you the different varieties of dahlia mostly Dinnerplate dahlia. My dahlias had a rough start this year due to wet winter and cold spring. Other than that, they are thriving. I have mentioned in this video that Enchantress is a formal decorative dahlia and I would like to correct that information as Enchantress is a semi-cactus dahlia. I hope you enjoy watching t...

Afternoon Garden Check ended up with Flower Arrangement

If there’s one thing about me, I love bright colored flowers. And I’m not afraid to mix and match them. Whether colors look good together or not, it doesn’t matter much this time. As I have fun seeing beautiful flowers together. Eventually, I may consider color palettes and different textures. #cutflowers #flowerarrangement

@KadyozaTV welcome back to my channel. Thank you for admiring the flowers in our garden. 💗
Thank you, I’ve seen a lot of videos of this topic and yours shows how to make the spray very clearly.
Glad it was helpful!
Ay mahina, gusto ko malakas e
What size for this pot. Thank you so much
The pot is 20" x 17".
@@EvelynsCaliforniaGardenThank you so much
@@EvelynsCaliforniaGarden I have 15”x 15”x14 1/2 “H (inside size). It’s good or not? Thanks again
You're welcome.
As of now that's a good start for camellia. Just a friendly reminder to up pot the camellia meaning move it to a bigger pot in maybe 2 to 4 years from now.
What kind of charcoal you are using, i can't understand it please clarify
horticultural charcoal

I saw 2 female flower but i didnt see male flower what to do
how do you like roses from Heirloom?
All my roses from Heirloom roses are growing well.
Nice garden! Never thought about growing Dahlias in totes. I just might try it myself.
You should give it a try. The tubers grow bigger every time I grow them in the pots.
Nice flower po

Healthy garden and beautiful flowers
I learned very much, I purchased the product Monterey BL to attach to ones waterhose. Great tips to avoid. ❤😊
Hello and thank you for watching this video. It is recommended to follow manufacturer's instructions at all times when spraying in the garden. Monterey BT that attaches to a waterhose is easier to use.
This video was excellent! Thank you for your wonderful descriptions and advice. ❤😊
You're welcome and thank you for visiting this channel. I'm assuming you have issues with budworms also in your garden. FYI, I'm sharing this video/info based on what I used in our garden, what works in our garden, and this is not a sponsored product.
Thanks!
I greatly appreciate you sharing your blessings via Super thanks feature on youtube. God bless you. And with that I will try harder to provide valuable videos in the near future.
Hello! Could you suggest any particular fertilizer you use? Thank you 😊
You can use any fertilizer with N-P-K content on it. If available I use balance fertilizer, meaning fertilizer with same number/amount of N-P-K.
Thank you! 😊
Does it matter what kind of milk? Dairy or not
I used whole milk. I haven’t tried non dairy milk
Great video, Evelyn. I must try this on my rose bushes. I just noticed white spots on my rose bushes today. It wasn't a powdery mildew but white spots scattered on the surface of the leaves. I'm assuming that this was the start of powdery mildew.
I wish I can see a picture of the white spots on your roses that you are referring to.
why do you have to cut at an angle?
I'm used to cutting stems in an angle. You can cut the stems straight or in an angle. Some people cut stems in an angle because they believe water can't penetrate through the stems or fluid will not stay in the stems and make stems rot.
So how do I determine to use the milk mixture or Neem oil? I have powder mildew on 1 plant and spider mites on the other. Should I use the Neem oil on both?
You can use Neem oil on both if you have it available.
Beautiful your flowers! What size of pot do you suggest to plant them? I bought a small pot at the garden center and need to replant to a bigger pot. Thank you
I usually used at least 20 gallon containers.
Do you plant those in full sun or partial sun ?
I planted this in full sun even though I'm in Zone 10B, due to the fact that the sun is not intense in our area at this time.
I love the colors! Awesome
I love the colors too.

Does the milk solution smell since it will sit on the plant and get into the soil and eventually spoil?
That is what others say that the milk stink and I thought of the same thing. Until I tried it multiple times and I haven’t really noticed any foul smell.
Love how you have created a channel on your passion.
Thank you.
Thank you. This is the first time I’ve noticed the mildew on my roses. I wasn’t sure what to do until I started my research.
You can also defoliate instead of using Neem oil or milk. Sometimes when it’s only mild powdery mildew, you don’t even have to do anything.
Thank you. This is very helpful. Will you do a followup video so we can see how this works?
Yes I will
Ganda ng garden nyo sis
Thank you
Where was your video last year 😂. This is honestly the best video I've found. Thank you So much.
You’re welcome. Greatly appreciated your time watching this video.
How much neem oil? Do you mix oil with anything else?
At 3:37 she tells you the measures……
If I remember correctly, I use 3 tablespoons of neem oil per one gallon of water. I didn’t mix anything else.
@kathysmith9993 Thank you for guiding @mammahomay9389. And thank you both for watching this video. Welcome to my channel.
My research indicates that Neem oil should be mixed with Castile soap, or ani regular dish soap, and water; the Castile soap acts as an emulsifier. Be aware though that after using Neem oil in a sprayer ensure that you immediately clean your sprayer.Neem oil has the tendency to gel inside your spray mechanism and will make it inoperable.

Thanks for visiting
I think you covered buying tips very well. Belonging to a local orchid society/club is great too for obtaining orchids. Your new plants are just beautiful.
Hi there. Thanks for watching this video. Are you an orchid enthusiasts as well? I greatly appreciate your comment. Happy gardening.
Came across your channel just now 😊so excited to see another California gardener channel! There isn’t a lot in TH-cam and most plants I see are saying up to zone 9 so I’m excited to see your plants as a beginner at gardening! Do you have a video of plants in a shaded area? I will for sure browse your videos tho
Hello and welcome to my channel. I'm gardening in Zone 10 B now since the gardening zones was updated. It was previously Zone 10A but there's no difference in the plants that grow in our area. As of now, I'm growing camellias when it comes to plants for semi shade area. I'm looking into your suggestion. i will definitely put together a shade garden soon. Happy gardening.
@@EvelynsCaliforniaGarden Thank you! Looking forward to that ♥️
Did you add anything like crocks or rocks at the bottom, or is it OK to add compost straightaway?
I didn’t add rocks in the bottom of the container.
Thank you
So gorgeous! I have a yellow cattelya orchid but we don't have type names here it, wish I could get colours like this! Please keep the videos coming, love to see updates! Love from Malaysia ❤
I’m happy to know that someone from Malaysia watch my videos.
Wow! How is your proteas now? 😍 What is the name of flower in the background on the left? 8:07?
All my proteas plants didn't survive. I'm assuming because I didn't up pot them.

Beautiful garden you have po... Hello again from Palawan!
Hi there @JanCerdanAdriano. I hope you like this video. Thank you for watching this video.
Ang cute naman ng mga flowers sis..
Thank you for appreciating the beauty of these roses. Cute sila and hopefully this next rose season mas maganda sila.
I bought some of these for my patio planters last July. Unfortunately the deer ate about half of the leaves, I’ve since put cages around the plants but don’t know if they’ll bloom now.
Try to check for flower buds. If you see some then there's a chance for you to see it bloom this flowering season. Even though the deer eat their foliage it should survive. It usually grow a lot of foliage right after flowering season. Sometime around April, May, and June.
Hi . Where did you get Royal Jubilee . I can’t find it on their site online for sale
You can find it at David Austin website. It’s not available all the time. Try to sign up for notification email for availability of Royal Jubilee so that you will not miss your chance to get one.
Thank you so much. I purchased my plant October. Not knowing about the plant, i thought it strange that it had loads of buds. I now know how to care for this beautiful plant
Hello and thank you for watching this video. Camellias can produce flower buds as early as last week of May or early June depending on the variety or type of camellia. So if your camellia starts producing flower buds say June, the flower buds size will keep growing until the flower buds will open its bloom during its flowering season. To have flower buds on your camellia October is definitely a normal thing.
Thank you for this!! I knew I got ripped off at that Easy to Grow nursery in Bakersfield ca. Im going to costco and getting a membership ha ha
Hello. After this growing season 2024 for this bearded iris, I'm considering to give away some of my bearded iris as I need ground space for my other plants. I will keep you posted. If you buy bearded iris rhizome from a reputable company they can be pricey as they are well taken care of, but then again it's the quality that you are paying for.
@@EvelynsCaliforniaGarden Yes I bought some through a company called Easy to Grow. they are starting to grow now. I dont know if I will get any actual flowers this year. I am also going to try to grow another cherry tree which may fail.
Im in california too Thats such a good deal!@ I went o to easy to grow online that was a huge mistake!
Usually when you buy plants online it can be pricey as this companies need to pay for marketing. These oriental lilies bulb are good deal since I bought it at Costco.
The soil is not acidic then the compost is not acidic either.
I routinely add soil acidifier in all my camellias. Prior to making this video, I already added soil acidifier to the soil in it's original pot. So no need to add more soil acidifier.
😳👏👏👏 OMG!! Gorgeous camellia!! Beautiful true red!! Wow!! How big are these flowers?? Another famous Nuccio Nursery find!! 😳‼️‼️
nice one po sis
Thank you 🤗 Sad to say I had to cut it off this early.
