Well, he was one of the if not the first auditor, and it took lots of courage to stand his ground to three armed to the teeth gang members with badge who were just inches away from trying to arrest him and accuse him of being mentally ill. Fucking scary shit....so just like you said, he deserves tons of respect for keeping it together. I myself shake when I have to deal with pigs because you know all they want for you is to end up cuffed in the backseat of their cruiser.
That's all they aim for, that's how they feel and get rewarded. They're not our friends they're are our enemies. Not because we made it so but because that's how they view us right from the first day they join the gang academy.

what upsets me even more than the unlawful detainment, is officers attempting to suggest there is something mentally wrong with the person for having rights and exercising them without explaining himself to people who aren't entitled to one... then the officers try to excuse and justify their actions because "some other time something bad happened so we're nervous"... paranoia is not a lawful reason to stop someone... they depend on the average person not being able to afford an attorney to sue...

Keep in mind that my video proves that something indeed dropped, because it was very audible, but either he was deaf or putting on an act… The next thing they said was something to the effect of “are you OK?” insinuating that I was hearing things in my head.

Regardless of the label you choose to use (1A Auditor or other), I simply say "Thank you !" And I mean that sincerely. We live in an unfortunate day where nothing is monitored or has consequences. The law enforcement system is built with no oversight and a "self-policing" standard in place. The reason citizens are bullied, abused, mistreated and their rights ignored is, because they can. We are guilty until WE prove our innocence, police investigate themselves, and all govt employees are protected from the top down. Sadly, this even includes courts and judges at times. So, 1A auditors are the ONLY thing in existence that holds these people to a legal and moral standard. I'm not talking about the antagonizing, baiting trouble makers out there with cameras. I'm talking about the well educated, polite, respectful auditors out there, with the courage to test and defend the basic rights of us, the people. And that describes most I've seen and I'm grateful. As for those who loath these auditors, I have a question - What are you hiding ?? Your actions, your ethics and morals ? Your refusal to follow the law and the Bill of Rights ? Or, is it your general treatment of others, you feel you have power and dominance over ? WHAT don't you want exposed ? - Or to be stopped ?

If our cops would love America for real, cities could feel more like theme parks as crime drops due to the removal of unconstitutional laws. Then cops could maybe focus on catching people who do real harm.
I think hopelessness is a big reason people can't even stand to learn all our rights - with lying cops trying so hard to violate rights, and courts that couldn't care less, it seems like something that wouldn't even work so why try. Cop watchers gave me some hope, so hopefully others will join in until the shenanigans end. Thanks so much for your truly brave work!!

look at public school curriculum in the early 70s then compare it to 80s, 90's, 00setc... at this point in US history more and more people from younger generations believe that the power lies with the state bc thats what they are taught. Its the main reason why Ideological subversion is so dangerous bc it starts to form a belief system as early as kindergarten, so the 'victim' (probably not the right word) has no idea there is another way to look at the world until after high school in most cases. I think the kids who grow up to be high level whistleblowers like Daniel Ellsburg, Ed Snowden, who know truth is priceless AND are willing to sacrifice the life they are accustomed to in hopes of sparking change or at the very least sparking a conversation regarding the things they exposed are becoming fewer and farther between.

As a medical professional, the shaking is not unusual for someone placed in a stressful situation, and especially when one police officer suddenly turns into three police officer and they want to play the, "Are you having a medical problem?" game. (As if 99% of all police officers have had ANY medical training outside of basic first aid and CPR. ) as it happens when you are stressed, your body produces stress hormones, including "Fight or flight" compounds such as epinephrine and nor-epinepherine, as well as cortisol. These make your Heart rate and blood pressure jump, your resperations to increase. If your body does nothing or you are forced to remain under control, your body still has to deal with the compounds that are priming your body for a marathon. That energy has to go somewhere, and if you are not used to it, it causes shaking as we see here. One should not have to explain human physiology to police officers. They bearly understand the law as it is, and the dynamics of human systems is just a bit too much for most of them.

I can see that as being valid. Quite a shame though that Rodney was the typical person that was a problem to begin with (he was being problematic to begin with at the scene, and also had a long record) - he was not some actual innocent person.
Not saying that he deserved the excessive force, but he definitely deserved SOME force for the resistance he was putting up to begin with.
And pretty pathetic that after he won his lawsuit, he blew through it all with drugs and ended up dying in a most hysterical fashion.

"You are detained while I'm making my investigation!"
If that was legal, people could be detained for years as some investigations take that amount of time. This cop is knowingly breaking every law in the book on this subject.

    • @J_The_Colossal_Squid
      @J_The_Colossal_Squid ปีที่แล้ว

There is nothing in the video indicating that the officer knows the law or that he knows that is breaking the law in the video if and only if he is breaking it, just because he mocks the citizen for not being a lawyer doesn't mean he knows jack about what he is doing under the laws he works under. Also, as far as I know, cops need to have reasonable articulable suspicion to detain someone for questioning under the law, but they do not necessarily have to share what the nature or scope of what the crime they suspect the detainee of doing upon being questioned by detainees during an investigation. On the flip side, as far as how I would personally act if being told I'm detained is to ask for my lawyer, and then probably invoke my right to remain silent, while documenting as much as possible silently. Your mileage may vary.

The way these cops violate the Constitution really pisses me off. When I went through Police Academy, we were told not to F with people and not to violate their rights. We were told to treat them the way you would want to be treated. Making the cops finally do the walk of shame is not enough. They get trained on Constitutional rights and violate them anyway. Lawsuits every time, even for 5 min stops like this, is the only way. You can get all the info on what the academy training was and the on-going training, and prove they knowingly violated said training, then it's goodbye qualified immunity.

It's amazing that even back 8 years ago (2014) there were copwatchers and 1st amendment auditors (even though the terms used today weren't even used yeet). That was amazing to see those police officers walk away instead of actually trying to escalate the scene farther. And of course the camera guy was shaking and trembling. Cops make people very nervous but they try to use that nervousness as a reason to hem someone up. Good thing they decided not to take it any farther because that might have been a first in the modern-day LAWSUIT about a LEO violating someone's constitutional civil rights. Grest video.

  • @xmarine73

I find it absolutely HILARIOUS that the police have for, roughly, a decade claimed that their Police departments have been attacked in some way.
Where's the news reports of those attacks? Where's the improved security (bigger, thicker walls, steel gates or doors, etc)?
Imagine if we said, the reason I pushed that innocent man and violated his rights was because a couple weeks earlier someone in a crowded bar hit me for no reason. That man reminded me of that altercation, so I felt I could lawfully push him. That's not assault... that's preemptive self defense.
That's what these cops, and 99% of the police around this country, have done for years.
