    Some of my favourite and most memorable dives were at night! This one time at the end of a fun night dive in South Egypt, we were doing our safety stop and found a lone squid. We all shined our torches on it and the squid took a big gulp in and shot off straight into our friend's chest, it inked the moment it crashed into him and it looked like he got shot, because he was so startled and the ink flooding the water looked like blood. The squid was fine stunned by the impact only for a quick second and it swam off into the dark. All of us who saw what happened are choking on our regulators laughing so hard we can't breathe properly as we all surface. Some of the strangest and interesting dives are at night!🤣

    You know that crabs are crustaceans.
    But, they're a little bit crabby.

    What is happening at the end of the video? What is that fluttering in his chest? Or is that his mouth? But if so, what are the whisker-y looking things above that, if not a part of his mouth?
    .
    Side-note -- man, crabs are weird-looking fellows! Idk if I never really realized that, forgot it or subconsciously supressed it, lol!

      Crabs have all kinds of weird scary mouthparts. If they were bigger, they would be terrifying!

      Fully agree! They're kinda scary as is, even at the size they are.

    This looks like what I've heard called a Clinging Crab -- is that the same? Also, are they as good to eat as King Crab?

    • @BlueWorldTV
      @BlueWorldTV  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't eat them. Yech. Yes, they are sometimes called clinging crabs. But that's not very descriptive...I mean don't all crabs cling? LOL

    • @rob_9876
      @rob_9876 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BlueWorldTV You're right, seeing their crown and scepter, King crab is a much better description😀 When I see them on night dives, they do seem to be clinging onto reef formations most often, rather than scurrying on the sea floor like many other crab types, but that's just my experience. When you say "Yech" -- is it because you don't like eating these crabs, or don't like eating crabs in general? IMO, Alaskan King Crabs and Snow Crabs are great to eat.
