That's a great idea to have break away functionality on the motor mount. I've thought of using a motor in the Hobie drive well but have always been concerned about hitting something and damaging the motor and or Kayak 👍

As long as the shaft diameter fits the mount it will hold although a collar of some type on the motor shaft would be advisable to stop the motor slipping down. As far as the extra weight on the drivewell you will have to decide for yourself as we have never used a petrol outboard on the kayaks before.

Will this work with a Kayaks2fish Nextgen 11 that has a copy of the Mirage drive?
Have you tried to make a hobie 360 drive mount?
What's the make/model of that trolling motor? I can't find a Watersnake 28lb.
Do you think the shaft is long enough to use while standing?
This was not a watersnake. Standard motors won't be tall if you are standing without modification.
