I would however like to see an amp draw meter on the PWM in place of the volt meter, so you could better estimate how much motor run time you will get and how much juice you are using (it will need an inline shunt to do this). The voltmeter could go on the battery unit instead with a button push reading so that it didn’t draw power continuously.
Digging the safety feature. I opted to go with a foot control switch mounted on my foot peg. It works like a gas pedal and if my foot comes off the switch its doubles as a safety switch in case I fall out.
Hi I just got mine and had a quick question.These are 10awg size wires, which can only withstand up to 30a, but this is a "50a pwm", can I change out these wires to wires that can withstand up to 40a? Thanks
there's alot of factors that effect runtimes but for a typical days fishing with a 24-34lb motor, you will be hard pressed to flatten the battery. We use a 28lb motor with PWM and trolled at half to full throttle constant for 5 hours and only used 30 out of the 50Ah.

10AWG will handle 50A all day long without a worry due to short cable run.

So you dont need to connect the white and yellow wires from the trolling motor? I believe these are for speed control in most trolling motors.
Correct just connect red and black.
