If you bought it last week, that's pretty rough they sold you the previous V1 model. Did you get it for a discounted price at least? As mentioned by others, the current V2 model, which has been out for several months now, has a much better transmitter and receiver, servo, motor with heat sink amongst other improvements to the overall design.
I removed the Velcro on the sides of the body and replaced them with magnets. Works great and they slide against each other instead of breaking when the body moves.

Must be a version 1. The new one comes with the 3 channel duel protocol transmitter and larger servo. Replace the velcro with the Scoth mushroom fastner tape. Motor does get hot but even in the middle of south Texas summers no problems. A fan definitely would be a plus. My experience is this truck is a monster that runs with the best of them.
i have the v2, has tons of aluminum upgrades, arms, diffs, cvds, shock towers, f/r bulkheads chassis braces, steering rack, f/r hub carriers, perfect pass 56kg servo, castle creations 1515 2200kv running a center spool. it is a badass truck.
Well dude this is what you need to do. Don't know why you got the first series if you just got it a few weeks ago the second version has the improved radio and it has a heat sink on the motor and I just installed the fan that bolts right to the factory heat sink. When you undo the body clips before trying to pull the body off take the vehicle by its sides and undo the velcro and it comes off so nicely. Haven't had much problem with the servo even though I'll admit a better servo wouldn't be a bad thing. We'll color? Matter of personal choice .......I got the red one and the wheel color doesn't bother me a whole lot. Not sure why you ended up getting the first version, I've had the second version since December. I know my personal favorite vehicle out of the five that I own...... It's called the Arrma Mojave.
It's a beast, but yeah.... My LHS has been sold out for months and I got the last one they had in their most recent order. That's how I usually take off the body and it ripped off on the first time I took it off. I just couldnt do it in the video because I was filming with the other hand. I love the truck, but I should've got the EXB... I just couldnt resist the green body.

hi, i don't own a mojave yet but looking tobuy one. just wondering why some cars have an exposed spur and pinion setup where dirt and crap can get in. Also, the mojave even has a slot in the chasis which directly exposes the spur to dirt. Do you know why?
Hi! The slot in the gear case of the Mojave is at the bottom and covered by the chassis. No dirt is getting in there. Sometimes they are left open so you can easily adjust the clutch. Luckily, the clutch spring on the Mojave is outside of the gear case. I’ve destroyed plenty of spur gears and pinions, none of them were caused by dirt.
Horizon is following the Apple model. Make it priority, make it just good enough to work. And make it expensive! I find myself looking for options to Horizon owned products these days. Axial, Pro Line, Arrma, and Losi used to be high on my list of manufacturers that offered good quality for a good value. Now it’s more expensive, lower quality, and I feel like Horizon wanted the end buyer to do the final R&D and pay to fix their under engineered issues.

You're right, about this version of it. I'm pretty sure the current versions come with a better radio at least, and they work with the Smart batteries to tell you how much power you have left. I think they've made other general improvements as well, but not sure they address all of your issues.
I have the latest version of the Mojave or the most current version and everything is absolutely updated. The motor came with the heat sink but no fan, it does have mounting holes for the fan. I went through the stock tires pretty quick so I updated mine with pro line raid wheels with hyrax tires.The Mojave truly is a beast.

I think I’m getting swayed to the UDR. I can get one for $550 theoretically or a Mojave around exb for 650 rtr and I’m just not feeling the hassle of the Mojave. I’ve never not had a arrma overheat yet so I think I’ll stick with lighter weight.
@@10thScaleGarage maybe not, but as a speed freak, I have to say not many RCs are as fun to drive slow as the UDR. Something about watching the suspension work on the UDR is mesmerizing. I’m all but certain the Mojave will perform better at speed, especially in stock form with the UDRs rear spool, and the live axle needs to be respected regardless of its rear diff status (put a rear diff in mine) but that UDR geared up on 4s or maybe geared down a touch on 6s is bizarrely fun.

Never minded the wheels. Still like them. Car is more than competent as is, however, using Velcro to aid body stability, is a bit of an imaginative stretch. How long did the designers feel that would last?
ive beat the crap out of my mojave since it initially launched. got hundreds of packs ran threw my V1. swapped the rx/tx for a cheap dumborc day 1. ive broken 2 arms/hinge pins with huge wrecks. But other than that its just body posts. Still original diffs. Strongest truck ive ever owned hands down.
and you did the review on the V1 mojave and basically all the issues you disliked have been fxed in the v2 lol. as for that motor, ive cooked mine over 200 deg dozens of times. The bearings in that motor are not rubber sealed so take it apart and do some regular maintenance once in a while. it will last forever.
Man I have the v1 an the exb. An I put 2.8 badlands. An they both have aftermarket transmitter. They are beast. Arrma needs to change the transmitter on all of the models
Do these tires balloon up i wanted to put these on my typhoon 6s. cant find a set that don’t balloon up n come apart on 6s for all terrain kind off tire
On my Mojave blx it only came with one shim on the ring gear side of the rear diff. I’ve been told adding another one will tighten up the gear mesh and I’m not sure if I want that. What are the pros and cons of adding another?

Seen the New Losi Mint 400 yet? Thing is 1/10 at Over $550 and has a Noname Toy Grade Controller/Receiver system in it. Over Priced and have to Switch out the Radio System and their Over Priced Lipos that cost 3-4 Times as a Regular Battery. Horizon has gone down hill since Mid 2000's. Over Pricing and Cheaper Parts. They take something GOOD and make it Mediocre.
I just got one. I think they may have addressed some of these complaints. Like mine doesn't have that radio a the motor has a heat sink on it. Things I hate about it, the fan on the esc sucks in trash and stops spinning and the diff gear is open underneath. That to me is a strange design
There's a little scrubbing tool down at the bottom. You can skip past it. If you're watching on your phone, you can double tap on the right side of the screen and skip forward 10 seconds. Just be glad I didn't talk about Raid Shadow Legends. haha.

Love the video but the servos acually do have all metal gears and it does have a aluminum horn, I mean there still crappy servos but there not that bad like u say in the video trust me I have the kraton 6s

well my Mojave outruns my Traxxas UDR every single time....and my UDR has way better parts on it, and I run them both on 6s and yes I put a fan on my Mojave motor, and it still works just fine running 6s...I never thought about changing the wheels on the Mojave, but maybe I should?

This video was below average on any scale IMO

The UDR is sweet, but it’s nowhere near as tough as the arrma.

I agree with everything you said, I got a udr and the Mojave at the same time and the udr is a way better vehicle in my opinion , try one !
I’ve never driven them back to back, but I drove my UDR today and I think the Mojave is faster.... and it definitely takes a beating better.

@@10thScaleGarage he means that all of your gripes are opinion based and the other ones that aren't i.e. the motor and sevo are experience based. I've had no problem with the stock servo or motor I quite enjoy them both. I also really like the look of the Mojave wheels and think the velcro on the shell was a great idea. Like I said all opinion based. The one thing I agree with you on is the one part everyone agrees on and that is the transmitter which isn't news to anyone. This video was below average on any scale IMO
