- Today I check out VR Haptic Gloves from bHaptics on Oculus Quest 2 called Tactglove. These fairly cheap tactile gloves let you feel and touch the Metaverse and can be combined with a VR Haptic Suit. They work with the Quest 2, Pico Neo and future Mixed Reality headsets such as the Quest Pro.

Blade and sorcery, project demigod or Gorn

DCS, FS2020 and any other flightsims where there's a bazillion switches/toggles

It’s hard to pinch gesture, i prefer joystick for scrolling navigate
Yeah. But moving would be a difficult thing to do with now joy stick. You’d need one of those treadmills which costs thousands of dollars+ controller shoes to replicate the forward and backwards/turning movements. Now it would make the experience more immersive than a joystick a few thousand dollars which is nothing to scoff at and it being easier to get tired makes it an inconvenience.
Won't you still need a left hand controller to move?

I always thought people universally agreed on what the end game of vr should be. Complete immersion which includes the 5 senses except maybe taste and smell. I hope to live long enough to know the feeling of dropping into another world when I put on the headset and instantly feel the breeze with the ocean water barely touching my feet as it go up shore at midnight

Tried them and loved them, just before Nathie arrived. I agree that they can sometimes feel gimicky. But to me, the gloves very much seemed like a controller feedback replacement for hand tracking apps. The lack of any haptics without controllers can actually feel pretty weird at times, and I really think that game developers who shoot for hand tracked apps should very much be aware of these gloves, they provide some pretty crucial immersion increase for me there.

My only concern is that its another expense rather than a package deal. Most players just want a standard in a package so I worry how long it will take before this becomes a prime feature.

That's what I was saying! It's literally just a pair of cheap gloves with haptic motors. Even some haptic suits are cheaper than this.
Even the haptic gloves from Lucas VRTech and his newly founded company LucasVR are better I think.

It's still too early to be compatible with many games so buy those last. It'll be awhile til I can use them on Playstation, the vest is only recently compatible & still with very few games
@@Alien_isolationist Yeah I think i'll probably skip on them for now, I have the ones for feet, arms, face, and the vest but im still figuring out if i can get some sort of extra hand haptics for index controllers other than the base ones. My main idea is for vrchat and they dont seem to work with it yet, and the fact that bluetooth can only support like 5 things so i typically have to plug in my vest

@@Alien_isolationist Understandable, Im just going for the most batshit crazy setup i can get lol, I have a quest pro (for eye/face tracking), index controllers (with finger tracking) , 11 vive trackers (for full body tracking) and each of those have custom haptic pancakes, and I also have a haptic puck on my headset strap as well, my whole goal is just to have such an unnecessarily insane setup lol Im a pretty big vr enthusiast

its probably the tracking components and the slim design of the gloves, making them so expensive.
