Right now, I own a Quest 3. It does great for a standalone headset, and is 100% worth it. It’s better than the Quest 2 in many ways as well.
I only have an Meta Quest 2, but I still love it. I always play Beat Saber and Creed Rise of Glory

There were non commercial vr headsets in the 90s that were WAY more advanced than the virtual boy.
But I do understand that its basically impossible to get one of those, let alone use them.

Quest 2 the most gaming VR sold
Boneworks was released 2019 and was not released on Quest 2, Bonelab released on Quest 2.

I still can't fathom why the Virtual Boy exists. It definitely was too early back then to try something like VR when the technology hadn't been properly developed.
