I loved the first call of duty where you had to rush up from the beach/river as the Russians and you had to be the ammo handler for some sniper and had to go from cover to cover then killed a russian sgt and captured the beach/river
They were not capuring but defending it... It´s Volga river... If is had fallen to germans, well... we must be speaking german now...
Best CoD at all times... Difficult if you compare to ''modern'' ones but provided a good experience about how war really is...

This is the greatest mission in Call of Duty history.
As weird as it sounds I think this game did a lot of good for me growing up. This was my first exposure to just how grim and horrific the reality of World War II was.
I had no idea the extent of brutality and war crimes that were committed in WW2 until I played this game and saw footage of Japanese and German atrocities. In particular I am thankful this game got me to research the Wehrmacht and understand how much nonsense the "Clean Wehrmacht" idea was.
This Call of Duty game actually changed my perception of real history, and that's really cool.
I think this game is also good at showing that there are no heroes in war the Wehrmacht and SS did horrible things but it also shows the hate of the Soviet army as they reached Berlin

One of my favorite COD missions, it would've been something if they gave this game a full on remastered version
only problem with that is activision putting microtransactions into everything nowadays, i'd be worried of seeing bundles and other bs. They ruined their chances with how vanguard turned out. I haven't even played the new cod this year, and probably not next year either. Its sad honestly. Look at this game, its so atmospheric, the dark gritty filter, the soundtrack. Although not totally historically accurate, at least its not silly.

or you can just play the perfectly good game as it is in it's untarnished excellent condition for less than $20 on almost all platforms thanks to backwards compatibility. Why do people even want remasters in current year anymore?

All Call of Duty games used to be good, they stopped caring after Black Ops 3 when they realized they could poop out whatever and gamers would still play it.

It’s really awesome how activision kept the same German voices from call of duty 2, gives me all that nostalgia.

This is the reason why WaW has to be the best cods of all time unlike the new series like WWII,Vanguard one of the most hated games. WaW deserves to be on the top tier list.

They totally robbed this from the first sniper scene in Enemy at the Gates, an awesome idea for a game.

The scariest level, huge nostalgia. Also, the level with underground bankers was also creepy when all alone, as with this with dogs and tanks, vastly outnumbering you in vendetta.
This is gonna be cheesy, but i learned patience through sniping from reznov, he's such a wise and badass character.
This mission is so epic.
This one mission makes this game a sheer beauty

I feel like the map is more of a haunted city than a battlefield. There's barely sandbag in the map. The bunch of burning and breaking building. Too broken to be a base. More of an abandoned

I love this mission cause you get use the sniper rifle, and best of all reznov is in this game.
He said General Amsel is a creature of habbit he inspects each German Garrison every day.
The communications properties are manned do only assert 1 man to communicate and if he is lost send another one as he may not have been well behaved enough to speak at Command Garrison.

Hello friends! I was certainly much surprised to hear such bad voice acting for Reznova in the English version of the game! I would strongly recommend that you complete the game, or at least a mission over the Soviet Union with a Russian voice acting! Yes, you will not understand what the characters speak but you can feel the pain and the burden which was endured by Russian people during the war. Can you put subtitles in English if possible. And believe me, you will understand!

Lol, the PTRS-41 was literally 46lbs/20kgs in weight. Still love this masterpiece, though, easily my favorite WWII game.
Still this game is 1000 more accurate than Vanguard kid.
