At 8:13 when your talking about the German 82 mm mortars being used theres alot of first hand accounts during bastogne where troops would take a German held postion and capture enemy equipment and use them.themselves because of the lack of heavy equipment, bazookas, and other stuff us airbourne troops would capture anything the can lay there hands mp40s,mg34,mg42, Panzershreicks, grenades and mortars to use agents the enemy's so that part dosent really make since if you are lacking heavy equipment and only have a few machine guns on hand of corse you would use there stuff
This is implausible at best. The 101st at Bastogne had so many gaps in the lines, they couldn't afford to send raids to capture equipment, especially since the Germans at the time didn't have much equipment to spare. They also definitely did have plenty of American mortars.
that's the later F variants like the F4s which wernt produced until later in 1941/42. They wouldn't be available as of the missions 1940 setting and so we didn't mention them. if we're talking period correct F versions like the F2, it had 15mms

I believe you are mistaken about the BAR's charging handle. Yes, it is non-reciprocating, you are correct there, but you would manually return the charging handle to the forward position and latch it before firing. There is a significant portion of the dust cover portion of the charging handle that overruns the receiver and interferes with the thumb of the right hand as well. If you left it drawn to the rear and closed it by firing you'd likely break the latching mechanism.
I wonder how many people actually think these games are 100% accurate depictions of battles in ww2? I’m a big fan of history and I know ww2 pretty well so if someone told me “have you ever heard when fighting in Bastogne against the 76th Volksgrenadier…” I would be super offended that some told me a division stationed in HUNGARY that were in a different country had anything to do with Bastogen
I wonder if we’ll get a Brothers in Arms equivalent of these videos or even follow ups of what these games have been getting right. Either way, yet another oddly engaging video. I always play these videos and say to myself “I’ll finish it later” then nearly an hour later the video ends. Great job, mate.
Actually at 28:12 the truck got destroyed due to a Friendly fire, you can see it if you pay attention to the Panzerfaust soldier that is behind the concrete fence
I comment that too. The truck is encrypted to blow up for that friendly fire not matters what. Speaking of Panzerfaust. Weird that frosty didn't mentioned the german with infinite Panzerfaust that come from the barn after you clean the house.
Wow!! I thought you stop making videos!! I am happy to see that, you released another video. I actually like, if you review games such as medal of games such as Afgan gameplay of 2010 and it's 2012 sequel. 😊
About the m1 sights being too big as you said, I own an original m1, looking through the sights presents a similar picture as in game, when looking through the sights with a camera though they do appear a lot smaller, your eye automatically adjusts to looking through the peep hole so when you look through them with the naked eye they do appear to be sortve larger like in game, though definitely not to the same degree. I’d personally say it’s close enough though
That’s why I like this game. Here you complain about things like wrong markings on BF109s. In Battlefield you complain about reddots on MP40s and other ridiculous bs. You catch my drift?
Yeah, this is a weird disconnect where a couple minor inaccuracies end up seeming like there's a large number of things wrong, vs other games like CoD Vanguard and BF5 where entire missions are just fiction. And the ability to find this information has become so much easier, which makes it worse. Imagine how hard it would be to find out what specific variants of a tank where at a specific portion of a battle - the Ferdinand/Elefant "inaccuracy"^, like damn I can't knock the CoD developers for that.
My friend August Caccavone was there at Bastogne with the 106th Infantry Division and he was to relieve the 101st Airborne that was held up when Patton's 3rd Army showed up
I feel like the devs are ignorant or too lazy to add them since they don't expect the average gamers to know them. You would be surprised to know that not a lot of people know a lot of Romanian, Hungary and Slovak troops were on the Eastern front
- lacking familiarity by the players and sometimes even the devs - resource allocation inefficiency, especially if its just for one segment of the entire game - lacking relevancy to what the developers are actually trying to tell - emphasizing gameplay, and as such making sure there are clear cut visuals of who the bad and good guys Among many things

i do think it is weird that you say something happened whilst also making it an inaccuracy. The compass aswell as the boots on the airborn solders are good examples. as long as it happened in real life on some soldiers i think it should be counted as accurate.

43:47 Those signature arm patterns were actually used to identify the Großdeutschland division in a number of war crimes, including the execution of several Yugoslavian civilians which was captured in a photograph. The officer in command of the firing squad had the arm band. You can't have the Großdeutschland division without those bands. Their name translates to Greater Germany. Hitler's foundation for creating Greater Germany was to be built over the corpses of millions of Slavs. That should tell you exactly what they were all about.

I wonder why the rgd 33 grenades in several COD games (1, UO, 2, World at War etc) are colored in a salmon-pink color, while actual photos of those grenades show them in a olive green-like color?
I wonder if the Operation Husky mission also took inspiration from a film that being "The Guns of Navarone" from 1961, based on a novel which was based on the Aegean Islands Campaign of 1943-1944 as the placement and the layout of the artillery guns in the mission look rather similar to those depicted in the film. Granted I'm biased due to having family whose ancestors were in the Norwegian resistance but I also think Norway would be a better setting for the 1941 mission (the level design and mission set pieces would be more plausible with Norwegian partisans), and I don't know if its just how my Great Grandad Frank was in the Artillery but I just seem to also notice how there seems a number of videos where you mention how tank or aircraft forces were depicted as providing a saving intervention when it was actually artillery in real-life. By the way, while I know there are some who are understandably uncomfortable with doing accuracy reviews on mods; there are mods of Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty: World at War that cover the Spanish Civil War which might be of interest.

Panzershreicks, grenades and mortars to use agents the enemy's so that part dosent really make since if you are lacking heavy equipment and only have a few machine guns on hand of corse you would use there stuff
This is implausible at best.
The 101st at Bastogne had so many gaps in the lines, they couldn't afford to send raids to capture equipment, especially since the Germans at the time didn't have much equipment to spare.
They also definitely did have plenty of American mortars.
22:14 109 F&G was actually armed with single nose mounted 20mm cannon (15mm for some F variant) with option for 20mm gun pod under each wing.
that's the later F variants like the F4s which wernt produced until later in 1941/42. They wouldn't be available as of the missions 1940 setting and so we didn't mention them.
if we're talking period correct F versions like the F2, it had 15mms
The Sicily Invasion upsets me, I thought Italians gonna be there. So now, Call of Duty: Big Red One is the only Call of Duty that shows WW2 Italian soldiers.
Yeah. If you want to get proper Italian faction to show, then you'd need to install COD United Fronts. Very worthwhile, tbh.
Do a Every inaccuracy on Battlefield 1
*We have lost objective butter*
especially single campaigns
and with guns and loadout in that game, it would be fun
@@Zoomer_Boiironically that wouldn't be too far fetched. The modern callsigns didn't exist back then
@@quakethedoombringer The call signs in BF1 were the correct call signs for WW1. (Mostly)
The Alpha Bravo Charlie didn't come about until a little before WW2.
You should do movie inaccuracies as well, see how well hollywood got some movies right
Only hurdle is dealing with TH-cam's copyright shite
I wonder how many people actually think these games are 100% accurate depictions of battles in ww2? I’m a big fan of history and I know ww2 pretty well so if someone told me “have you ever heard when fighting in Bastogne against the 76th Volksgrenadier…” I would be super offended that some told me a division stationed in HUNGARY that were in a different country had anything to do with Bastogen
I doubt you knew where each division was stationed and when, especially in a conversation where you cant just go nerd mode and google that sh.
Yes we are still alive and calling out inaccuracies :D
I wonder if we’ll get a Brothers in Arms equivalent of these videos or even follow ups of what these games have been getting right.
Either way, yet another oddly engaging video. I always play these videos and say to myself “I’ll finish it later” then nearly an hour later the video ends.
Great job, mate.
This game was my childhood favourite but now I have forgotten
The joy of ww2 cods games 😢
Actually at 28:12 the truck got destroyed due to a Friendly fire, you can see it if you pay attention to the Panzerfaust soldier that is behind the concrete fence
I comment that too. The truck is encrypted to blow up for that friendly fire not matters what.
Speaking of Panzerfaust. Weird that frosty didn't mentioned the german with infinite Panzerfaust that come from the barn after you clean the house.
@@hernanreipp3321 Or the infinite Panzerfaust you get at the end of Kharkov 1
@@rogankane6901the infinite panzerfaust is needed to destroy the tank i know it’s unrealistic but for gameplay reason is needed
Probably the developers of Cod don't even know what Italy is, and probably think it is a federal state of Germany
Yes! I´m so happy. Making a popcorn to watch this.
Leaves for four months, shows up talks about ww2 for almost an hours leaves.
Nahh here to stay!
It's good to see you still making videos, even through the whole thing TH-cam put you through.
I’d love to see a Historical inaccuracies of the Mafia games, specifically Mafia 3
37:39 "Черкасское", I don't see any problems here
But whatever, I'm Ukrainian and not russian after all
That’s why I like this game.
Whenever frosty1 uploads more of these types of videos I know my meal is gonna taste 10 times better
My friend August Caccavone was there at Bastogne with the 106th Infantry Division and he was to relieve the 101st Airborne that was held up when Patton's 3rd Army showed up
Oh heck yeah, I know what i’m watching while i’m eating dinner.
Ayayayay, you're back. Thanks for the input. Also, great shout-out to UF, brother 😂
Make a video about Battlefield 1, depicting the First World War and see how many inaccuracies you can find
Ngl campaign is vanguard level insane
It’s simple. I see a Frosty video. I watch that video. I enjoy that video.
Ngl, every ww2 game never mentions the other belligerents, and i do wonder why? Is it too much to include them? Or something else?
Lack of accurate information
I feel like the devs are ignorant or too lazy to add them since they don't expect the average gamers to know them. You would be surprised to know that not a lot of people know a lot of Romanian, Hungary and Slovak troops were on the Eastern front
- lacking familiarity by the players and sometimes even the devs
- resource allocation inefficiency, especially if its just for one segment of the entire game
- lacking relevancy to what the developers are actually trying to tell
- emphasizing gameplay, and as such making sure there are clear cut visuals of who the bad and good guys
Among many things
The game Forgotten Hope 2 is a multiplayer & singleplayer fps which has Italy, France, Colonial France, Poland, and upcoming Norway & Belgium as playable factions. It also has Germany, Great Britain, USA, USSR, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. It's a free game.
@@FinalFront forgotten hope 2 is a passion project mod, hence why the animations and models look so good on an outdated engine. AAA Game makers have to make a lot of compromise to please their stakeholders (profit, time to release, numbers of players online, etc.). That's why they rarely put effort into historical games because as long as it sells, they have no incentives to improve
I just asked you yesterday where cod uo is and you deliver it the next day you are amazing
I am so glad for this series, I love the old CoD games but I figured they also had their own inaccuracies.
i do think it is weird that you say something happened whilst also making it an inaccuracy. The compass aswell as the boots on the airborn solders are good examples. as long as it happened in real life on some soldiers i think it should be counted as accurate.
True, but in the sense of education we chose to also name absencies. You should really look at this as a form of education, and the inaccuracy format just being the tool to educate :)
@@K-Nyne Yeah, honestly these are just small nitpicks, as a whole the video is fantastic and as you say; very educational.
I'll definitely watch the rest of the videos on the channel!
Really glad you're back. How would you feel about doing a inaccuracy video on Call of Duty 2 Big Red One?
I got home from holiday and a epic vid is waiting
Another candidate for Historical inaccuracy would be Medal of Honor European Assault.
Capo Murro di Porco was basically the devs saying "Hey you ever see the Guns of Navarone movie? Yeah let's do that."
I like how educational your videos are
43:47 Those signature arm patterns were actually used to identify the Großdeutschland division in a number of war crimes, including the execution of several Yugoslavian civilians which was captured in a photograph. The officer in command of the firing squad had the arm band. You can't have the Großdeutschland division without those bands. Their name translates to Greater Germany. Hitler's foundation for creating Greater Germany was to be built over the corpses of millions of Slavs. That should tell you exactly what they were all about.
Frosty, when BO6 comes out, make sure it is absolutely OBLITERATED, don't pull out that "take-away-an-inaccuracy-because-of-an-obscure-historical-accuracy" card
The fact that this game is still mentioned to this day is proof that it is a truly well-made masterpiece.
CoD 1 and CoD:UO..
My very first two shooter games I played as a kid, they hold a very special place in my heart, I'm super excited to see a video on this great game.
After you finished covering historical fps games you should list the military inaccuracies of fps set in the modern era
Next video game inaccuracy count suggestion:
-call of duty roads to victory
-call of duty black ops declassified
Frosty. Please don't get mad, but the chasing truck in the Holland level at 28:12 is not destroyed by your hand gun.
Is the "friendly fire" from a German soldier with a Panzerfaust in the other side of the concrete fence. And is encrypted to blow for that "friendly fire" no matter what.
These videos about Sniper Elite would be awesome.
About exploding truck at 28:10, it explodes even if you don't shoot him because it explodes by friendly panzershreck fire. I know its not significant but justifiable to note imho.
would love to see a reaction to Gates of Hell Ostfront lol, the inaccuracies are few and far between and it might be nice to see a reaction to a game that mostly gets things right for a change
Great video! Always hitting the top!
Oh hey my childhood is being torn apart. Awesome!
At 0:45, you are using the reenactment picture of a friend of mine who's playing an SS officer ;)
Amazing
Already feel like I’m gonna be in heaven for 58 minutes
Amazing as always
My highest of thanks!
ngl seeing Ramirez and foley has brought old call of duty modern warfare memories, its just like captain price from the old call of duty game
Company of Heroes 2 would be a gold mine for historical inaccuracies, especially with the way they portrayed the soviets.
Not mentioning how painful the last mission is, is an inaccuracy in and of itself.
How in the hell one it is suppose to survive that mess?
The freaking Stuka bombing, the goddamn Sniper on the roof from the right building and the Tanks, not counting the wave after wave of germans shooting at You.
@@hernanreipp3321 ikr ?
@@hernanreipp3321the sniper spawns from left and right the stuka hits form different directions which you can dodge that the explosion would be bigger in real life yeah that’s unrealistic
@@Gen-w7j The Sniper spawn in the left side too?
I only saw it appears on the storage's ceiling from the right.
In the left the germans, for some strange reason, send plenty of troops with LMG (MG34) and, for even more strange reason, the gunners on the left building stop using their MG42 and start shoot you with their pistols.
Yes the sniper sometimes spawn in the left side
Your knowledge of this much history is crazy
Call of duty ww2 even with all the historical inaccuracies holds a special place in my heart
Bro how does this guy knows all that stuff, i wouldnt even have realised if there was a M4 laying around somewhere. Preciate your videos man i learn so much from them.
We're a pretty meticulous research team working with Frosty :)
It's simply just doing a lot of homework to create new content. Not judging his historical knowledge, but not many people can remember by heart so many little details like that. Same goes for other creators who make the same videos.
Every Frosty CoD Historical Inaccuracy Video:
Him Raging in the starting of the video;
Him OBLITERATING an anachronistic Weapon,vehicle,location,Army uniforms,the date and MUCH, But counting as one inaccuracy;
The Garand clip release sound after an one inaccuracy;
An ad from Raid but after a time will be chopped (just happened in one video);
And bad subtitles
Thanks for inlcuding united offensive
One question, The Sten Mk II was used for the first time by the canadians in Dieppe, when was it first issued by the brittish or other commonwealth troops. Same question for the Mk III
Sten Mk II entered production and service in the late summer of 1941. Mk III was produced from spring 1942 to autumn 1943 but the Mk II proved more reliable so they stopped making the III.
@@K-Nyne I would say that Ingram should've used Thompson 1928A1, alternatively.
@@muhammadabyzard7970 it's a good option, but thr Sten Mk I would be fine in this case too

11:10 some German officers did disguise themselves as normal soldiers to not be well noticed after all they did held valuable information of their units and other stuff.
so how do the american soldiers recognize him as an officer?
You could just as easily take it the other way, that the soldier mistakenly called him an officer despite him being a regular soldier.
@@simpsondr12 i guess so
@@simpsondr12 i did read stories that either their comrade or former prisons can call them out or if the enemy captured them they find ranks inside their uniforms.

I wonder why the rgd 33 grenades in several COD games (1, UO, 2, World at War etc) are colored in a salmon-pink color, while actual photos of those grenades show them in a olive green-like color?
I would assume that they were trying to give them a slightly aged worn out look or smth
@@TheFrosty_1 I think so, I have seen photos of rgd 33 grenades that have supposedly been buried in the ground and they have that color
I love United offensive so much especially the battle of kharkiv levels. I can feel the progress of fighting through the city to the train station.
52:10, no, it's states that the 5th Guards Tank Army (which Yuri was part of in the last mission) was reinforced so he could go back to his original group
Does it have anything to do with the 89th Guards Division of the 69th army that is supposed to be the one spearhead assault into the city?
United Offensive is still by far my favourite CoD. Big Red One is a close contender.
Great work ! Lot of nostalgia with old COD ❤
1:54 Some soldiers did wear M42s even during the battle of the bulge
Can you please provide your evidence for this claim, specifically for the 101st at the Battle of the Bulge?
@@TheFrosty_1 for the weird colourway in the ambush camo during the bulge mission. i had previously read that after the factories stopped applying the ambush camo to the tanks and even during it sometimes the crews would paint an ad-hoc version of the pattern on their tanks if theirs didn't come with one because it was a very popular pattern with the crews. i had heard that they sometimes had to use locally sourced paints instead of the 3 proper RAL coded ones. when i google ad-hoc ambush camo, miniature painting websites show up which are obviously not good sources but i wanted to let you know
