Building a homestead in South Africa - Have we bitten off more than we can chew?

Elsa and I had to make some tough decisions over our December break with regards to our dream of building our off-grid homestead here in South Africa. It was vital however for us to do what we did, even though it eats into our very little pot of finances available for this project considering all the other items that still need to be done.
Oh well, we took the plunge and there's no turning back. As they say, "Go big or go home." Well, we're going home...steading!!
