Tristan's tiny house is a video that shows a self sufficient 2-story tiny home that is built on a smallholding beneath a forested hill near Swellendam in South Africa.

This channel documents my adventures travelling around Southern Africa in my caravan.
Two years ago I left the big city of Cape Town, towing my caravan and a speedboat with my lovely cat for company, never to return to the big city.
I'll be documenting my adventure and showing caravan parks that I spend time at in Southern Africa as well as some other subjects of interest to caravanners and adventurers in general.
This channel takes an in-depth look at smaller and off-grid living in Southern Africa.
The tiny house movement is small in Southern Africa, but is growing exponentially very quickly.
Southern Africa is vast and has areas of great beauty with weather that is unique and superb. These videos will interest adventurers of all ages. There are still ways to live in this world that allow one to wander the world, as John Wayne used to do in the old western movies.
As I get older I have the choice to sit in four walls, watch TV and get grumpy, or go off and have an adventure in my old age.
I've decided to choose the adventure and I'm surprised at what I've found. I'm seeing some great places and having some fantastic experiences.
Hopefully these videos will bring out your inner 'John Wayne'.

I've also built my own tiny house. Only 32m² with huge sundeck overlooking the Outeniqua mountains and loving it. I'm in Groot Brakrivier.

@@jayvos1111 I've left similar comments on other TH related channels and about 4 or 5 people have contacted me over the last 1.5 or so years. from various parts of sa and with different ideas of what type of TH living appeals to them. which part of s.a. do you currently stay in? it would be good to actually meet those who are REALLY interested - have a chat and see what we can come up with. we might have sufficient knowledge between the lot of us to actually get it started here in s.a. it's flourishing in several other countries.

Northern suburbs close to milnerton..I'm a architectural designer and visualizer I have been working for 6 years for tentickle as their architectural designer . Designing structures and concepts of lodges etc and accommodations...so I have been renting since I came to western cape 6 years ago..I'm just tired of renting and load shedding and so forth...so I'm currently busy saving up to buy vacant land ..so I can live on it and build myself a little cottage and greenhouse and have solar ect ect..so I have tons of ideas...but that being said western cape property prices are crazy..so my plan is simply to save enough for a deposit 40 percent or more for land then I will take the remaining 60 percent on bond that's Luke 2 or 3 thousand a month which is doable ..because I will still need to rent a place for me to stay whilst I get land ready and I work from home so need internet and electricity ..once I have the perfect land ..I will design my tiny home..and build it off grid..I will also get solar etc etc..and internet ..then I can move and live a simpler happier life out of this rat race of a city..and I would be able to save alot more because rent in western cape is too expensive I'm paying 8 thousand a month for a studio apartment and about 1500 a month on electricity..so having land would defantly help me ...that being said it takes time to save alot..I'm tired of paying my landlords bond ..can't even run a generator here without some neighbour complaining.....so that's option 1 Wil take time..but to speed up the process I was hoping to find others that want to live off grid and be self suffienct ..if their is a thing wer we all out money towards land and it gets divided or something..or like a community where I can buy in or rent but don't have to be subjected to draconian rules and laws and levies ect ect..this other place in western cape wanted me to pay 95 thousand for land which I won't own..I'm not aloud to put bore hole water ..the place is dry..I'm not aloud to build what I want ..they will build and charge me overprice for a nutec Wendy..and I must pay monthly I told them to no thanks...in joburg another place wanted me to pay 250 thousand for land which I won't own..and agian I'm not aloud to but bore hole ..I'm ot aloud a green house..all homes must be built from shipping containers..and no solar aloud coz they supply you with power ....so it's hard to find people who ..even if a farmer can let me rent a piece of land I will be happier then now .....
