World is divided because of the commercial aspect. The meat industry can support thousands of articles and doctorates to support meat eating and produce strong fudged evidences.
I am not saying there is no science in it - what is not there is sense!!!
Put all your 5 senses to use to find out who we really are:
      1. Eyes: See the food. A mango ripens and turns color to attract herbivores. For carnivores this doesn't smell good. Humans just love the color and go for it.
      2. Nose: Smell the food. A ripened mango sends the exotic smell that attracts humans and herbivores.
      3. Touch: Touch the food. When you touch it you know it's ready for eating. Not the nut or seed inside but only the pulp. Helps a mango tree for it's procreation in some other place as herbivores have legs unlike trees that can carry it's seeds surrounded by pulp to be thrown in some other place near river bed.
      4. Ears: Hear the food. When you pluck it or even better when it drops down after it's fully ripe the tree doesn't cry - instead it's happy - just like any living being it becomes a burden after it's fully ripened and just let it go hoping some animal will eat it and throw the seed somewhere else away from it's own canopy.
      5. Last but not least Tongue: Taste the food: It tastes so good in the mouth that people can write off all their inheritance for one ripened fruit.
Now on the other hand take a piece of meat. It doesn't look good - you will have to ask somebody else to do it as doing it ourselves most of is would throw up, so it becomes a business and is costly, it doesn't smell good, it feels tough on hands, wherever the meat is bitten from it cries the hell out that human ears are designed to hear and stop biting because of the conciousness we have, it tastes nothing. One has to marinate it in salts and over do the masala to make it look like a herbivour food so that it at least smells and tastes good like a herbivour meal.
Leave the politics, leave the business, leave the science, leave eco friendly bullshit - just let your senses take over and you'll be human again.
Plants have feelings - bats can hear ultrasonics - cockroach can see in the night! Yes!!!
But we are talking about humans with db range of 20 to 20k Hertz of auditory range.
The right food is fruit. Seed shouldn't be harmed. Some has small seeds but in hundreds like guava so munching a few doesn't matter the rest will have strong pods covering this can live through a human gut and take undigested nutrition from stool and can grow a lot better elsewhere.
Harvesting harms the plants - that's why it's not natural. Acceptable to humans may be - but seeds are not our food - means none of the grains including rice smells or looks good - Tate's good though - in it's natural form itself - as grass eaters we picked it up and apart from those that we munched rest found it's way through gut for progeny.
One can think sensibly instead of falling for science with vested interest like this.
Now that's an eco friendly stand! Since when did science care about eco friendly nature? Only senses govern eco friendliness not science - definitely not stupid technologies we have developed so far! All science and tech are half cooked and only leads to armegeddon!!!

      Actually no
If you see.....cows have very large intestines to digest cellulose. But on the other hand tigers have small intestines. This is because they eat meat which is easy to digest .
Our body has a small intestine which makes it efficient to digest meat.
When I asked my teacher y it is easy to digest meat more than plants while we think plants are good for health my teacher did not give me a proper answer.
So I thank you for making this video lmes team.
And by the way it is a fact that plants know when they are being eaten

      @nocompulsioninlove2148 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Deeksha Enterprises you certainly must be talking about starches like white rice or white wheat or white potatoes cause it is very hard to digest plants or fibrous matter for people with chronic illnesses and while easy starches would be better for them compared to meat; meat is still better when compared plants or fibrous material. Similarly it very hard for humans to digest tough cuts of meat which contain a lot of scar tissue also.

First of all, my sincere thanks to this channel for its profound knowledge in science. It is so much easy to understand many difficult concepts through this channel. My hearty wishes for that.
I felt that this video is little bit incomplete in analyzing the facts of veg and non veg in detail. The food is not just the food for the body. There is close relationship of food to our mental health.
It is said as is the food so is your emotion. The vibrational energy of non veg food is not helping one' mind to be stable and having high spirits.
Finally please read the article below which explains why the plants do not experience pain and while we eat, we cannot say that they are killed.
    MESSAGE OF PAIN
It appears as if there is a hidden intelligence in nature; nature has a direction or a purpose to sustain life. It is because of nature and nature’s laws that we are alive and plants are alive. In the same second that an individual cuts his finger, mechanisms start to heal it; it is nature that heals. Doctors have to work within the structures of nature. Nature also has responsibility for the plants, insects, and the larger universe.
In such a friendly nature, there is also pain, which only exists to give us a message of danger. Pain draws our attention to the harm. For instance, without the pain, we would continue to cut ourselves and bleed, not even knowing that we were doing anything wrong. Wherever there is free will, it has to be balanced with the pain option. Otherwise, these free-spirited creatures can harm themselves with their free will.
If we follow this reasoning, it suggests that there may not be any pain receptors in the plant kingdom. There is no benefit in knowing of the harm if they have no free will to change anything. Nature is economical as well. We have pain if we touch a sharp object or sit in a wrong posture. Pain in the form of foul smell protects animals and humans from poisonous foods. There are also more complex pains. Headaches and joint pains have their own messages. Emotional pains may draw our attention to our lifestyle or attitudes. Nature will definitely find a way to protect, and the only way nature can give a message is through pain.
The whole complex department of illness may just be nature giving us a signal. If we ignore, the message steps up and becomes louder. At present, our lifestyle and our attitudes toward the sense objects need to be questioned.
At a subtle level, life with the ego is an extremely wrong posture and will invite pains. If we are souls, then nature wants us to be in the awareness of the soul; if we are guests, nature wants us to be free from attachments.
If we ignore common sense, create attachments, and in order to deal with the complications create more attachments and more ego, the mechanism of pain also gathers momentum. There are then more complex pains like illnesses, emotional discomforts and misfortunes. These are all messages from our friendly nature.
“Man and nations do the right thing once they have run out of all other options.” We have an option to use common sense.

Felt same. @Lmes has the responsibility. They should not mislead people like this. Felt this topic was not properly evaluated. Too many contradicting statements.
People don't just eat vegetables, they take staple food and vegetables are mixture of it.
And 100 gms givig 20 calories is a boon, leading you to easily burn the calories soon rather than 200 calories.
And last sentence didn't make sense at all.

    Negatives of Non Veg..
    1. It will take more time for digestion because of high protein and Fat content...*(Always drink hot water which makes the digestion faster)
    2. The non Veg Primarily protein and fat release large amount of heat while undergoing metabolism...
    3. While during metabolic activities the protein Non Veg releases High amount of free radical which damage our all other molecules including DNA.

@RAJKUMAR PRABAHARAN arai keerai, palak, murungai keerai, and to an extent even thandu keerai are all greens which are harvested and they regrow. Only sirukeerai is harvested by uprooting - which kills it. That is a very small portion of our food.
More over, the suffering that animals undergo while being killed (especially in butcher shops) is incomparable to that of plants (I am not saying they are not suffering - just that it is incomparable with that of animals).
You can watch a sirukeerai plant being uprooted and skill enjoy eating it. But how many of us can watch a chicken or goat kicking and screaming for their lives and loose the battle in a slow and painful way just to make a meal for us when we have other non violent choices and still enjoy eating them? Most non veg eating people cannot even watch it in the first place! ( I become a vegetarian after watching it 25 years ago)

It’s difficult to break protein and fats than carbohydrates... Carbohydrates starts digesting from the chewing itself but in case of protein and fats which is mostly found in animals will only digest in stomach and large intestine. Vegetables are rich in fibre which always takes time to digest but they don’t create any ill effects like indigestion as like animal fats . I think this topic has to be reconsidered.

Non vegetarian diet decreases gi motility and takes long time for excretion whereas vegetarian diet which are rich in fibres increases gi motility and excreted easily..So time taken for digestion and excretion of veg diet is actually less compared to non veg diet..If u accept this concept kindly remake this video in a more understandable way ..

    1. A human has evolved to eat eat organic matter (i.e cannot eat sand and soap like a cockroach).
    2. False equivalence of plants with animals: A vertebrate organism with a central Nervous system(CNS) is not the same as a microbial organism like yeast or a plant that doenst have a CNS. So do not make false equivalences. The LIFE involved in eating plants is NOT the same as the LIFE&PAIN involved in killing and eating meat.
    3. Also when you refer to a food as "non-veg" you are denying it an identity. You should refer to it as meat. Can we call women as non-males ? Will that be fine ? So do not call meat as non-veg.

Basically we shouldn't feel guilty about the type of food we consume...it's a way of balancing the ecosystem.

First I have to say LMES is doing great job of promoting scientific knowledge among the masses. Congratulations and wishing you more success.
But have to point out some issues in this video.
Basic premise veg vs non-veg shown from Western perspective. Who eats salad ? Why take that as bench mark of vegetarian food. Vegetarian food primarily consists of rice, wheat, millets and other pulses, all types of dhals and vegetables. Salad is hardly the dominant food eaten among vegetarians or omnivores.
Vegetarian food takes long time to digest that is a fact. But without factory farming present meat culture is not sustainable. The factory farming is dependent on agriculture to produce the food for the animals.
Last Thirukural is against meat eating. Equating plant based food with meat based food is false analogy, since such people don't equate human meat with animal meat. Same way plant based diet is more ethical than animal meat eating.

As a biology student i feel you are almost correct but you need to analyze deeper, while ripening chemical changes occurs in cell walls and it becomes easier to digest. If you compare the rigidness of a unripened mango and the ripen one you can understand that the ripen fruits are easier to digest as they came over some chemical changes in their cell walls during ripening but it is not so in case of non veg that's why doctors prescribe to avoid non veg after a certain period of life. As non veg contain excessive amount of lipids it becomes difficult to digest and we feel uncomfortable after consuming non veg, therefore it increases body cholesterol level and leads to disease.
You are correct in the case of greens as you said it is not good to eat greens at night.

It's a nightmare. Atha paathutu yaaralyum meat sapida mudiyathu. It's not like early days where people hunt for their meat. It's industrialized now where animals are locked in cages injected to grow twice their size and can't even stand. The child is separated from its mother. Sometimes the mother is killed in front her child. Yes this happens. Some animals are raped. Even in the egg industry, male chicks are crused to death when they are alive and their beaks are cut with a hot blade. It's torture. When you can live a perfect vegetarian/vegan life, you people choose to contribute to that cruelty? It's about unjustifiable cruelty, not life.*

Animals can react and express themselves by sound but plants can't. So u can't tell plants have no feelings. Global warming and many natural disasters happens because of deforestation. Humans have eating animals from stone age till now but eatable animals didn't get extincted but many rare types of plants not exist today because of deforestation can u accept that???

Non vegetarian food digests faster, but this is not a good thing. When you digest proteins, this is a simple matter of using normal animal processes for separating amino acids.
Plant fiber is actually digested, not by us, but by our gut bacteria allies (some of these also eat animal compounds, but we are healthier if we keep a high fiber-eating/flesh eating ratio). This process occurs well down into the intestines, and recent research implies that not only is a significant amount of the work of digestion done by these bacteria, these also represent some of the most important parts of digestion.
The story is complicated, but for one example, compare the roles of butyrate and hydrogen sulfide. Butyrate is generated by bacteria in our intestines and is absorbed into our intestinal wall, where it helps to support the lining in our intestine protecting us from invasion. The bacteria in question produce butyrate when they are fed appropriate types of fiber (and obviously there is no such thing as fiber that comes from animals).
Hydrogen sulfide, on the other hand, attacks the intestinal lining (and also is the reason intestinal gas can smell like rotten eggs). There are several factors in how much hydrogen sulfide is generated during digestion 1) how much protein you eat, and 2) what percentage of the amino acids in the protein are the sulfur-containing proteins found in higher concentrations in meat. 3) Is the protein present in small enough quantities to be digested by the stomach or does some of it survive to be processed by gut bacteria of the less friendly sort. A fourth possible factor is, what is the volume of everything else?, as that can reduce concentrations and therefore damage, but I am ignoring that for now.
Meat digests relatively quickly, but not all of it. As far as I know, our stomachs are designed to digest proteins in a healthy way so that we don’t need to worry too much about the rapidly digested part. But then a little bit leaks out. If you have been feeding these bacteria and they are present in large enough quantities to process significant amounts of the remaining protein then that would lead to the hydrogen sulfide that causes problems.
So, best would be to just eat vegetables. Second best would be to first eat your salad (or fiber source) then meat, and worst would be to eat the meat first, then a a source of bulk that would push more animal protein out of stomach digestion faster.

Only greens are difficult to digest.. grass has highest content of cellulose.. animals who eat grass like cow have microbes in their digestive system to digest these.. not all veg food contain high cellulose.. non veg is not easy to digest as most of the vegetables

Where does your team get these data.. Wikipedia?? I think it’s better you read research articles when you release videos like these.. there are many groups researching on cellulose degrading bacteria for biofuels!

Probably the only video thus far in LMES that doesn't strike the point or conclusion with proper facts and hurry in going to conclusion(?).
The choice of veg Vs non veg is something personal and we can even account for the digestion success ratio in both. Ending the video with dumb and baseless question like "Plants kku valikkadha? " makes the whole video useless.

Given global warming is due to animal farming and animal fat is more cancerous/cholestral, this is missed and video encourages nonveg. 10 kg plants + water =1 kg meat. Growing plants in group is fine but animal farming is cruelty

Admit it. Level of violence is much minimal in veg. when compared to NV. Those who eat higher violence will meet the same in their life too, in the form of stress, misfortune, destruction of wealth etc. I am not lying. This is my own experience. Thus I switch over to Veg. Please do not kill. 🙏
