Riviera headquarters are 45 minutes away from my home. So proud an Aussie company commands such respect from the boating community.

Captain Steve shows us another great boat -- AND he's back to his true form by saying "fit and finish" a few times in the video. Welcome back!

Almost the best galley layout I've ever seen on boats under 70 feet.

Riviera could do with more presence in Europe. They'd definitely sell.

    • @allaboutyachting
      @allaboutyachting 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Good point! I very seldom see them here in Europe. But they would definitely sell good, even if the European taste is a bit different when it comes to layout. E.g. enclosed fly bridges are not popular in the med, which is the biggest market here in Europe.

This yacht is flat-out inspiring in how well it pushes out the OO experience. I'm a huge Fleming fan but at this point, since I'm spending TH-cam money, why not get a Sport Motor Yacht? The recreational features like the cockpit and power make it a better working boat and cruiser. It's hard to imagine anyone who ever worked on a boat, not wanting what a fishing cockpit offers on your yacht. And everything else, every yacht out there is imperfect because it's not the size of an Aircraft Carrier. But all of the criticisms over wasted priorities in space somehow are addressed here. Australia is a 1950s American Executive Dad who needs to change his own oil in his 1959 Continental with a 400hp MEL Marauder under the hood. And air-conditioning, not even in a Mercedes at the time.

Like always Captain Steve, great showing I agree with you on the ridiculous placement of the stereo system on the bow and inside the cabin. The only thing I would add to that vessel is a third seat, looking forward on the starboard side next to the captain again well done on the showing.

Nice presentation Steve, I love this motor yacht, can’t believe it’s only a 64, the amount of space & the layout makes it look more like 70/80 footer. The whole boat is gorgeous, its lines & shape of the hull just simply stunning!, the only thing missing for me, which I love the most was the engine room, did you edit it out by mistake?. Does the hull upgrade for Finn stabilisation or giro assistance?. Still a lovely boat to dream about!. Nice1.🇬🇧😉👍

I understand big, long hullside windows bring lots of light aboard, however, I feel it detracts from the boat’s exterior profile creating a frivolous look best kept on the inland waterways and sheltered during small craft advisories….JMO

Rivera are built here on the Gold Coast australia and are built for our rough and remote conditions. Our northern east coast seas normal days are 6ft with short and sharp periods. As I said this is a normal day let alone a rough one. These vessels are no inland vessels. Many owners here circumnavigate Australia with them and many do intercontinental cruises from australia to places like, New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu and Papa New Guinea.
Looks might be a fashion and taste but this at its heart is a tough long range Bluewater cruiser

I do have a problem with the prototypical master suite with a massive oversized television plastering what otherwise should be a top of the line book shelf or *anything but that* anyways.
If the master bed were canted away from the entrance that creates imo a proper interior space by the door for a closet and seat for, well just sitting if you like but of course a "change of clothing" space. Just a pet peeve I have in all these types of so not a "master suite" anyways.
And again I'm really not a fan of propeller driven water craft and think Hinckley Yachts has been running circles around the entire Industry for decades now with a proper propulsion system for working in an out of Florida, the Caribbean of course and especially but now as well all of Central America and the Mexican Riviera.
These are near perfect water craft still tho and serve notice to the entire "Battle-wagon" market (cough, cough Viking, Hatteras et al cough, cough) that they might be doing it all wrong going on forever now.
This as being "all right!" would be an understatement to me.
Still...i think even Sea Ray is making a near 60 footer now as apparently was in fact done in the past.
Great review as always but yes I agree still too forgiving.

They're a Class-A Ocean capable boat; most yachts are Class-B "shoreline" boats. Riviera build them tough, much tougher than they might look. All independently certiied.

@@doolittlegeorge Impellers have many advantages but one disadvantage is low-speed efficiency. They are more efficient than props at high speeds, but less efficient than props at low speeds.
Personally I'd worry about clogging but that's probably just me being a coward. :-)

Pretty nice boat but if priced as normal 64 foot yachts, it feels like it doesn't get the most out of the space because of the fishing style. A style that strikes me as entirely unnecessary. If you have to kill animals for amusement that seems plenty possible from an elegant boat as well.
