@@BeverlyBlack easy peasy!! 😀. I just saw this first for me video. And American goulash chop suey or slum gullion as my dad called it. Is a favorite! No matter if it’s elbows or spaghetti. The love goes into the sauce. 😎. You Madame are a great cook!
You would be a perfect neighbor. Not just for your food, mainly because of your kind demeanor and love I felt from your voice. May God Bless you and your family!!!!
That brings back many memories as we had that two to three times a week when I was growing up I'm 76 years old and we did not have much then but to me goulash was like being in heaven
Thank you Beverly, my Mom made this when my sisters and I were little. In new England it was called American chop suey. I made it just a week ago. I live alone now, so there's plenty. I take half and freeze it. The leftovers taste even better. Love you Nannie Annie
@loisann758 - I’m from New England too, and my mom made it for my sisters and myself when we were kids. My sister recently came to visit and made it when she was down. It had been quite a few years. We always called it chop suey.
Beverly, that looks delish and really takes me back to my childhood. My grandfather grew a huge garden on his farm, and he would always make a massive big pot of this Goulash late in the summer in one of his big cast iron outdoor kettles, just to use up the last of what was growing in his garden, tomatoes, onions, peppers etc. He even added zucchini in his, just because he grew it lol. He would also boil water in another kettle, and we grandkids would husk sweet corn and cook in it. Then he would have the whole family for dinner to eat it all up. Every drop usually got cleaned up too! Good summer memories, and a great dish. I will have to make a pot myself and think of my Grandfather!
My mother made this when my brothers and I were little and growing up in the 60's and 70's..she just called it beef macaroni, but I later learned it was called American chop suey, and just about everybody's mom had a version of this and just about every baby boomer grew up with this for school lunches and quick week night dinners. Its sooooo good...😊
that was awesome, one of my favorite things is goulash just like you made it but the blessing you sent out at the end was the best part of this video, God Bless you and your family in the name of Jesus Christ
Exactly how I make it. It's an inexpensive family favorite! In New England we call it American chop suey. A friend of mine uses the diced tomatoes, broth and worstershire sauce sauce... gives it a beefy flavor. Good that way too!
Thank You so much for this yummy dinner!! My mom made this and added corn and peas to it. One of my favorite comfort meals!! God Bless you too!!! God is always good!!! Stay safe and well!! ❤
Love love love this recipe. I have watched it over and over to get it just right. You are a wonderful woman you remind me of my mother who passed years back. You are a kind soul. Thank you. ❤
This looks delicious! My grandmother made this dish back in the 50's! What great memories you have given me. (She also added those button mushrooms that came in a jar? I guess that was her own touch? ) 60 years ago! Wow!
Hello Susan, I love the memories, we like mushrooms in it to, but my grandson doesn't like them, so I left them out when I made this pot, be blessed my friend!
This looks delicious! I love the way you walk through your recipes…you’re so kind and real. I’d eat anything that you cook…I know it would be delicious! Thank you Ms. Beverly!
Hello Beverly!.oh my goodness I have been looking for this old school recipe for months. My sister and I wanted so we could make it. You see my mom use to make it and it was so good. I always loved a good hot steamy dish of momma’s goulash! She made it quite similar, and would e vet with butter bread, or cornbread. Yummy! Of course I added this to my own menu when I married. Thanks for sharing.
Been thinking about making some goolash for my brother. Had seen many recipes, but l loved the wsy yours looked. It was familiar. So l watched your bideo and got a chuckle out of your measurement for the noodles. 2 cups, oh the whole box. Lolo, any way will be making this, thank you for your kidness and your blessing to us. Back at you 10 fold. In His name
Next on my list to try! One thing I did notice though, coming from a former restaurant owner, is that you need to pamper yourself with a Pampered Chef can opener so you don't risk cutting yourself on the edge. Best of all about this style of can opener is if you don't need to use the whole can, you can just pop the top back on and put it in the fridge till you need it. It does take a second to figure how to align the opener but once you do, you'll never use another if you can help it.
I'm sure that my comment will be too far down, but I loved this video. I grew up on Goulash. My wife is gone for the evening and I'm on my own for dinner. I'm making this now. Thank you for the easy to follow directions.
My Nan always made Goulash. It was so good! 😋I think I would just use one can of the diced tomatoes though. Just my taste. Thank you for sharing, Beverly!

Thank you Beverly, this was delicious and yet so easy. We added a tablespoon of sugar to stabilize the acid taste.
Sounds good, so glad that you enjoyed it!
Instead of adding sugar, my mother used to add a little ketchup.
Goulash is a classic and inexpensive - feeds many. Love it.
Yes it does!

7:50 - Instead of creating another dish to wash, use the tomato sauce can to measure out the beef broth. It also gets the sauce remnants.
