- last 2 days at Otamure, Mikes off to run the Whananaki coastal trail, we day trip to Mimiwhangata where we are the only ones there. Several days of wind begin and we got some camping hacks.

Great Video guys! That's one long bridge; Surfing looks so much fun defiantly on our bucket list. That's a beautiful Christmas Tree!

We were in New Zealand in March 1019 and many of your New Zealand Christmas trees were dying, ours in the backyard here in Adelaide South Australia has done the same thing. People (locals) didn't know why they were dying off (on both the North and South Islands). Not the whole tree but just parts and on pretty well all the trees. I hope they have all recuperated. The one in this clip looks great. We love ours.
Thats weird, didn't see any signs of dieing trees in the far north. They are a beautiful tree and I think really good for the coast and holding sand dunes. I didn't know you had them in OZ, thats cool! Thanks for watching our video.

Love every part of your journeys,Real Kiwiana !.I just dont go off the tarseal thats all,but I know Im missing out on some of the best.You have already given me ideas for my next road trips.I live in Auckland ,originaly from the Far North.Hokianga.Keep Opononi in mind for another trip sometime.Great part of the north you'l all love it .Long way from Rotorua,but go from Dargiville to Kai iwi lakes camp site,crystal clear waters to Wai Puri Forest and onto Opononi,then catch the car ferry at Rawene across the hokianga harbour to the other side linking up to State Highway 1,back south.Lots of freedom camping along the way!
Such great feedback thanks... we did that whole stretch of west coast when Jade was a baby. Beautiful... ocean is a bit unsafe for kids our age until they are a bit older... west coast sure is stunning though especially Hokianga...

Great video, looks like a fantastic holiday with the whanau. Just a note that you can't use a weighted line when fishing there and are only allowed to fish with a single hook.
Oh really, I had no idea about the fishing rules... Was anything on any of the signs... But sure was a great holiday... Although that wind...

Not so sure about that note of the "Weighted" line.Never heard of that anywhere. Could be a local rule and should be signed?
