- Hey everyone, this episode we are free camping at Otaki beach with some good friends we've made while on the road.
It's an awesome free camp site right on the beach and right next to the river.
Poor old Toby got very sick during our time here. his sickness lasted a good 6 days, 3 trips to the Drs he was sleeping a good 20hours a day which was so sad to see our bundle of fun and adventure a sleep on the couch, in bed and just miserable.

Yea those night lapse do look cool aye. I find that I never get much if it's fully dark, I need some sort of light to pick up an image, but they turned out cool. Hope you guys are good and keeping warm.

Oh yea mate, there's been so many stones thrown, the one I'm currently editing I've got some extra stone throws in there lol.

yea we try to avoid the bugs if people pre warn us of sickness, no fun in a caravan. Lovely to be back South.
Great beach. A tough week for you all and poor Toby. I guess good timing in some ways being with Family and having a home base to help get through it.
Yea it was nice having the facilities I remember arriving back to the house with intentions to under coat that room, I went to bed instead lol... What a mission
Oh poor Toby, I'm so glad you persevered with the doctor, you can't be too careful. We just spent weeks down south so will look forward to your new adventures.
yea sometimes Dr's can be unhelpful especially when they think they can send you home with no offerings, despite some quite bad illness, and our previous experience of this issue was with Jade and she was sent to Hospital for a couple of days, good old Soph got through though, and got some of the meds once the blood test results came back through. We're loving being back down south with no agenda.

Not fun watching him be so sick, and so out of character, He bounced back real quick once he got some antibiotics into him.

it's a nice spot especially when the wind isn't blowing... We were so covered in salt spray lol, took the truck through the car wash and gave the caravan a good wash down after that beach.

lots of people at both those parks for winter aye, looks like the whole nelson tasman area gets pretty busy with vanlifers, we stopped in at richmond racecourse yesterday when I went to the Dentist and it was very busy... Was pretty hard watching our poor toby look and be so sick...

It is a cool site, there was someone there whose motorhome broke down when we were there, had to be put on a truck, felt sorry for him...

Poor man. Toby must of had it bad as it’s not like him to not be out having fun and enjoying the great outdoors. Glad he’s bounced back and ready for his next adventure on the road. When did you cross over the strait Mike?
Yea horrible seeing Toby in that state, he was miserable and could barely keep his eyes open... He's totally back to his normal adventures now. We crossed over on Tue last week.

Oh mate, it's horrible, we've avoided any sickness we can, because we know bunkering down ill will be not fun, we have limited water and toilet supply in the caravan as well power issues in the winter, but mostly seeing the kids suffering with bugs and a virus is horrible, you just want to help them...

please don't encourage the mullet... lol... he's totally bounced back, a bit of meds and he was doing so much better. you guys have any free weekends coming up? Planning to be in Culverden for a night this weekend, unlikely to stop in the super city.

hey mate, was a good spot, we've dodged the bugs for a while it was bound to catch up with us, especially kids who generally pick up all the bugs at school ... Victron controller still hasn't got a good enough work out yet, we've been on power a bit and had to many cloudy days, so I'm waiting for a sunny day to see how it compares to last winter. I'm gonna do a video on it though, cause it was an easy swap over.

We literally left Murchison today mate... Were there for 4 days. I'm def Glad toby is better as well, horrible seeing the kids sick to that level.
