@@eraldorhThe Russians were noted for just parking working tanks as gate guards. Friendly young souls would come in the middle of the night and drive them off to play with. The Britts decided that it might be better if gate guards stayed in place. One way to do this was to make them hard to drive.

Over the moon to see the old girl running again, knew that old chieftain, she used to sit next to a SAM guided missile, on the (what we called the rocket gate) at Arborfield Garrison, I knew her for 14 years of service guarding the old camp. It was a REME Garrison, now a massive housing estate. The other camp across the road Rowcroft had two AVRE Centurions which were also concrete filled. Thanks for the memories, climbed over her a few times, also have some photo's of my old military working dog in front of it. Only realised where it was when you put up the photo's and I recognised B company block straight away. Put a big smile on my face, grew up with them in the 70's as my old man was 1st Royal Tank Regiment.

Great shades of the fitter section - eating snacks with - very - oily hands! That's the way to do it!!!

Some where out here in internet land, are likely the guys who poured the concrete into this beast. Thinking they'd just put this tank beyond use. Have just been proven wrong.
    Awesome guys 🤗

So, are you going to paint a Blue Circle on it, or a Rugby Ball? My guess would be a Rugby Ball in your part of the country.
Seriously well-done Lads, for a small bunch of Farm Lads, with next to no equipment, and no, or next to no, training or experience to call on, you really do achieve miracles.
As the saying goes, "The impossible can be done almost at once, Miracles take a little longer".
