Buying a Tank from 007 Goldeneye!

- Today we had Crouch Recovery pick up a 55 ton chieftain tank that was last used in the popular 007 Film Goldeneye.
Looks like this is going to be quite the challenge to fix.
Ive never had tracks quite as stuck as this before! - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Who thinks I should have left Jack in the box?
Without biscuits 😂
Jack loves a good box
Yes just to see how many swear words he can shout!!!
I thought that is where you kept him
Least it would have been a bit quieter, all he's done is moan since he got married
you 2 argue like an old married couple.. bless the both of you never god damn change.
Want to protect your foden? Need an on site mechanic anytime? Upgrade your foden today with the “ Jack in a box, roadside assistant”
Could always use uis as a hood ornamental?
Just give him a poke and he would shout at them to get the f*** out of the way !!
Cheep upgrade !! 😅
Jack squeezing into driver’s position that has no seat. “Oh some pointy stuff is in my arse. Normally I wait until the weekend for that.” 😂😂
Surely the wise thing to do would be to acquire another Foden and start a breeding programme?
🤣
They had a pair of Fodens, but the other one escaped and hasn't been seen since. I expect it returned to the wild.
@@cogboy302Fodens don’t DO wild, they do only LIVID!!
@@cogboy302 went to get a gallon of milk and a carton of cigarettes and never returned
@@joma13344 what are these gallons of which you speak?
Nothing better than a Saturday morning with Ant & Dec mk2 😂
More like Morecambe and (un)Wise. 😂😂
Chuckle brothers
That's very fat and very rude😁
Better than Ant & Dec as they’ve got Ted!!!
The tank chase in goldeneye was my favourite car chase in any film I can think of.
Not even 3 minutes in and I’m in pieces over Jack in the box
Never mind the tanks - what about that lovely brickwork on that old barn type thing with the smashed windows next to Concrete Chieftan !
Make a fortune as an air B&B. (People are cunts)
Yes, I noticed that too!
Yeah very nice arts & crafts window surrounds, 1905-1910 I reckon
It was the smooth wet concrete that beat the Foden, not the tank.
And no diff lock by the looks of it
You will need to order a drum of PB Blaster to free up those tracks! Works better than WD40 on seized parts.
Love the missing hinge pins...Ted was right to stand back whilemhe let you two muck about with it.
It's not that either. It's the fact that the Foden wasn't level with the tank plate and dipped down in the front, if you go back to the scene, you can see the two bar push the rear up in the air ... essentially negating the second set of rears. I don't particularly get why it as designed with that tow bar mount so high (as one of the options) because these shituations happen and they almost always behave the same way. You want an even point option as much as you want the high ones... odd flaw on an otherwise pretty well rounded tow/recover package unit. l
Foden wasnt defeated by a tank....was defeated by the tracks... !!!
Defeated by tracks that were too good!
It was defeated by lack of grip on a smooth wet surface
@@ringo196 Yeah, came here to say that - wet concrete.
@@ringo196 ....or the driver....😁
The Chieftains in goldeneye were parked in an area seen in the movie just before the tank chase and made to look like T-55s which is probably why everything is missing
That tank (343) was also in a season 7 episode of Red Dwarf called Beyond a Joke. Kryten drives it out of a lake and blows up a Jane Austen Gazebo.
We need to find the clip now!

Nah that was the hero T55. You can see the drivers window they cut into the hull

Only truns left..... you have a NASCAR tank. 😂
Bit of Chieftain docking 😂😂
😂🤣💀💀

Today's description: " well-disguised competence "
I'm sure I saw Ted shake his head.
"a bit of chieftan on chieftan action" ... that broke me
Good to see a gal with a proper SOH.
The Chieftain looks - shaken not stirred
It is a martini bit worse for wear alright.
Foden came with a preinstalled jack
Foden: Wait, why isnt this thing moving?
Concrete: Don't worry mate, I'll shed yet more mud at it. :D
Foden: MOVE YOU BLOODY SOD!
Concrete: Need some help mate?
Foden: Damn tracks
Concrete: On my way
Dozer: Why am I still sitting quiet?
Forgot they had the dozer, that prob would of pulled it handy enough
That was brilliant. The relationship you all have is fantastic. Never underestimate the importance of doing the job you love with the people you love.
There is a language we use when working on cars (tanks) with our friends. I am conversant in American (West Coast), but it’s really entertaining to listen to you two crack jokes on each other while poring over a new project. Well played.
Too many chieftains and not enough inditains
Underrated comment!!! hahahaha
As a complete aside, my hobby is flying RC Planes. One of our club members managed to get hold of the moulds that were used to make to Suhkoi jets that were in the film. He was planning to makes some models from them, but not too sure he ever did.
Can't really say the Foden failed .... a seized track is above and beyond ! Fantastic bunch of guys
Nice to see Ted make a cameo appearance.....he must be so busy making public appearances....opening garden fetes etc etc .... Judging poo eating competitions.....etc etc.....he always gives the videos that extra ooomph!
I find it amazing how for each of these tanks so many weird things have been done to them, many of them seemly for no reason
you two bickering like two old married people is making the video so much better than it all ready is 🤣
While I was watching this, it occurred to me. There must be one hell of a lot of privately owned tanks around this country of ours, and I think it's only a shotgun licence for the big guns too? Makes you think on the lonely dark roads around Dorset! Especially as the Army let one fall off of a trailer a few years back near here.
I was on the roundabout at Ferndown Dorset when it fell, slow motion gravity.
Don't know who told you that the cannons on a tank count as shotguns but they don't. Shotgun law requires a smoothbore of less than 2 inches of bore.
@@jimmydesouza4375 Thanks, clears that up for me. Always thought it was a 'bit much'!
@@WOFFY-qc9tegravity doesn’t do slow motion, just 13’/sec/sec.
@@johnnunn8688 Watching a tank go over on an overbalance flat bed on a tight turn, was slow motion. It was not in free fall. Opposite Halfords.
You guys really knocked it out of the park this time. Poor old Foden wasn't beaten in anything her tyres had no grip on steel originally, then she was asked to move at an awkward angle ON GRAVEL. No contest! Unfair disadvantage. She shouldn't get downhearted, some of us still love her no matter what. Rest of vid, well Jack in the Box was different. So the whole thing looks to be in indifferent condition, typical Mr Hewes buy. Thanks for the visit, best wishes to all and thanks Jack for being the star.
My favourite bond film tbf that tank chase scene was ace
I think you should dig a pool, fill it with WD-40 so you can drag the tanks through, should free up that track np, and other stuff.
Like a sheep dip but for Tanks.
We all know the good old crocs safety shoes😂
I was not very familiar with the Chieftain before I started watching this channel. I have come to appreciate its lines. Quite a good-looking tank, I'd put it up there with the Leopard I. Love the sound of its engine, too. Anyway, another great episode, full of safety tips and proper tool useage.
Lets be honest
Most of us here are for Ted not the tanks
Thanks for being honest
@@MrHewesFiatal srácként tank szerelő voltam a seregben. T-55 javitottam. Amint elnéztem ebben sincs sok hely. Érdekes látni a motor teret. Tárcsa fékeket. A mieinkben fékszalagok voltak . Koszi a feltöltést. Thanks ❤❤❤
And fodens
There are tanks?
"Chieftain on Chieftain action" she says. Looks like it will be a runner! Foden did well all things considered. Stuck tracks, odd position, wheels on different surfaces. Also, Jack in the Box! Is Jack still making payments on that Snap On hat?
Most places the ner'do'wells come along at midnight and take stuff away, here odd people bring strange presents along.
Im only here for Ted
“Pats Ted”
Not sure if you've spotted it already, the Reg is "06 FA 15" its stamped at the bottom of the change plate.
The last photoshop with pierce brosnan is a pure work of art !!
The folden didn't get beaten by the tank just by traction. Amy sure was laughing about the tanks crossing swords. Even made me chuckle too.
Finally, Concrete Chieftain has a guest appearance. 🤩
Super smashing great, now get back on the 4005 👍🏻😝
Poor old jack ... Take note, Mr H ...... that will be you soon !!
Runs and dives for cover before the Significant other starts throwing stuff !! 😊😅 x
You Mong! 😂😂😂 Steaming mug of tea and a couple of bacon banjos, oh and a fresh Mr Hewes video that’s a pretty good start to a Saturday morning in my book.
Quick lap around the block and I reckon Jack will be peachy.😂
Cracking vid, absolutely hilarious Jack and the moaning lol.
In all fairness I don't think the Foden was beaten, it struggled because things were really seized up and prob the only vid I've seen them that bad!
Just saw the final bit and it was indeed at Boomers and Swingers golf range in Leigh. About a mile from my house. They have some other vehicles around the place too.
My son used to climb all over this tank whenever we went there.
Great video - nice to see concrete lending a hand
Well done Ted!! 🐶👍
Looks like plenty of work! Nice video.
Brother, I do envy all of the armored vehicles that you get to play with! I am 61 and have driven an Abbot and been inside an Easy 8 Sherman twice! I have built hundreds of model tanks and have an extensive library. I have three simulators and have always loved all things tank!
Loved the concrete chieftain content! Would love to see more of it getting the love it deserves 😎 and Ted is the best supervisor I’ve seen 🐕
Absolutely wonderful video. Stay safe around those heavy vehicles, take time.
You 2 are hilarious to watch as you play off each other. Thanks for the entertainment. Look forward to the next update and thanks from New Zealand
Love watching these two and the banter they have. Tanks and comedy at the same time. Also the area i grew up in so good memories when i did. Carry on lads and please don't change your format.😊😂
I love how much fun you guys have with each other,it keeps the videos happy.keep up the good work.🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊
Cracking episode.
The tracks on the tank don't go round and round, round and round round and round. The tracks on the tank etc.
Sad to see the mighty Foden having a tough time, but it was up against something driven by Mr Bond!
Looks like you've got a film crew there, new Amazon series? "Diddy man on a Farm"? 😂😂
The Foden is my favourite piece of kit you have, hopefully she is not feeling to down hearted and wont start identifying as a mere forklift.
Lmao 😂 watch out for what’s behind closed doors. You should have left Jack in there. Great job and love the video. Thanks for sharing.
Another great vid, the Foden has been shaken but not stirred....thanks for sharing 👍💨💨
Regarless, that tank has real possibilities but the Joe and Jack interaction can't be scripted.....You have both clearly known each other for a long time, you're a good team !
Great video! From those of us in the Seattle area, keep restoring these irreplaceable pieces of history.
Send Abrams, stat!
Damn. I think this was the best episode ever!!
You guys have all of the fun! 😊
Mate was a stunt man on that film, 1st one for him. He's the guy knocked down the stairs by Piers Bond on the boat and then hanging from the helo at the end.
Never ever sell that foden !! It's an absolute weapon. Just a sold well made beast of a truck . Someone should start making them again . Britain needs more Fodens !!
Teds the real star of these videos…can’t wait for the launch of his own line of merch!!!
A pleasure to watch as always!
I noticed once again, how there was a lot of clowning about, and then Ted arrived on the scene, and finally enabled you all to get some real work done😂
Should try 50/50 mix of ATF & acetone (nail polish remover) for freeing up rusted stuff. Been shown to be the best at it by far.
… but you won’t want to keep the stuff in a plastic bottle…. That’s how you know it’s good!
I can see ya going to have some fun sorting out that one.
Got to love a Chieftan and Foden spit roast :D
😀Love the banter between you two.
Linda has quite literally carried you pun intended 😂😂 at least have her refurbished
Jack is so funny. Cracks me up all time.
Love your videos. And seeing how happy with what you're doing. I hope you'll be able to get your hands on a t64 or a btr-80 sometime.
Nothing quite like a Jack in a box. Awesome video guys
🔥 🔥 Nice Chiefy Chiefy Fodey 3 way action, hot! 🔥 🔥
That little Milwaukee rivet gun is great. Saves a lot of time when fitting ventilation.
Another cracking video thanks team
The Crouch truck winch must have some power, must have had help pushing it on or something
It somehow pulled it on itself! But needed assistance to get the vehicle straightened once on
Give me a block and tackle big enough and i’ll reverse the rotation of the. … errr
I Cant think of a clever Cheifton Coupling comment resulting in a baby Cheifton,
still gobsmacked by the future content thats going to come from you guys with the new additions, nice one team.
There was more than one tank featured in Goldeneye.
The tanks in the Defence Ministry parking lot in the movie, the T-54/55 on the streets in the chase, and then a mockup that was on top of another vehicle to look like a T-54/55. And mockup to get hit by the train.
The T-54/55 from the GoldenEye street chase was also in the Ian McKellen movie Richard III.
Well Ted, when's the rest of the tank getting delivered? It looks like the souvenir hunters / vandals have had a field day. Crouch did very well to load it. Is there something even better than a Foden?
Yes, Jack can fit in the box, but Mrs Westaway will be having words (many) if Jack is stored in the box overnight, not ideal for newlyweds!
I wonder how your american viewers hear the banter in commentary.
I worked in LA for a while and banter between Brits, horrified the other Americans around us. They could not comprehend how we could verbally abuse each other, which, to them, was fighting talk.
And then go drinking together.
They expected us to begin the fisticuffs at any time.
When we realised what was happening, and the stress it was causing orhers, we had to sit down with them all, and explain, it's not what we say, but how we say it that matters.
They took all the words said literally.
Brain dead and molly coddled pretty much covers the (a)merican male these days!
My Foden and Shitbarn Tees arrived in time for my birthday today, 18th of May. Its my big 60th, Absolute boss quality Mr Hewes, and I shall be wearing the IIAAFoden while tucking into my £100 steak later. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great vid, another project!
Looking forward to Ted getting you all knocked into shape and he does not swear either. - great video as always
While 007 is resting would the addition of paraffin to the track joints be beneficial to future movement later. Boring I know but could save time and temper later!
Maybe the 46 is still under the green paint from the bond scene. Looked like there was 3 chieftans in that scene though😂
Awesome recovery Truck 😊🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒
You lads are funny as!😂 Sharp things.. leave for weekend😅😅
You two have taken sarcasm to expert level 😅😅 another great video
I was half expecting Joe to belt out "If I could turn back time" 🤣
Great video boys looking forward to the next update 😉
Glad your saving another tank are you going to restore it and glad Ted was there in charge great video 👍👍👍👍👍
I think your Tow-Chieftan deserved a lap around the compound after that assist!
Jacks comment about it being a cracking episode made my evening lol
