- During today's video I show you how I get from Cox's Bazar to Dhaka again. From the moment I leave the hotel until I manage to find the bus stop. For the first time I traveled in a sleeper bus in Bangladesh. A trip that was going to last about 9 hours ended up lasting 12 hours.

I am always charitable to people who are honest with me... let's not reward people for bad behavior... because that only generates greed and poor treatment of tourists. You don't want to normalize that in your country... Look at your neighboring country, now famous for scamming tourists... I hope you don't want that for Bangladesh...

Would you carry some one's shopping from your local shop to your home for 30cent even if it was for 5 minutes journey? I am not encouraging bad behaviour, it's just that you could of exercised a bit of leniency - when you are in traveling in a third world country.
But I understand your point too, and so I will advice the riksha union to introduce a base charge and distance travel charge application. Currently 99% are free lancers who pay rent for the riksha , and only the poorest village people do this labour intensive job .

Hope you enjoy your travel in Bangladesh. A safe Muslim majority country where they respect solo or couple travellers unlike the big devil country near by called India where hindutva extremist men prey on foreigners. May God keep people travelling around the world safe.
Many many years ago we also went from Dhaka to Cox Bazar by bus. Normal bus of course. No air conditioning. It was ok, just I was little bit sick even before. Took a long time for the journey, definitely more than 10 hours. The second time we had rented a bus with 4 drivers and went with all of my in laws ( my husband's siblings+brother in law+ sisters in law+ nieces and nephews+ my family). One of my brothers in law had rented the bus, it was even worse than normal. No air conditioning, 1 window broken, backlights weren't even real ( only painted), tires without profile...and we made the journey without any problems ...that was the funniest part.

I ask this question, because
1. Bangladesh is not a tourist friendly country,so its not common for Bangladeshi to see foreigner,so they will look at them with so interest.
2. Male foreigner also stares by people,and you are a women, Bangladeshi women most wear conservative clothes.
So it is normal to people stares at you

Honestly your negotiation skills are excellent.. only a few have that skill as good as you and those that do are the ones that always get local prices. Everyone else would have either gave 150 or 100 and only some would have got it to maybe 80 but you stood your ground. And also you have all the skills needed for anyone that travels alone and I knew a few like you and a few of them are females, I do envy that in a good way im not as skilled or I would have been able to travel solo to more places.
