Woah, the algorithm did me wonders here.
I adapted this lens from a pentax film camera to sony apsc as my first semi-fast prime option. The equivalent focal length I got was a joy for concert photography. While the lens isn't considered super fast wide open, I got some beautiful bokeh that holds its own against any of the more expensive lenses I've since picked up.
It's very cool to know it's image circle can cover medium format, especially considering a copy is sitting at 25 AUD (17 USD) on my local marketplace. This lens is truly an undervalued gem!

I’m sure the photos turned out great! Considering the price, it’s a fantastic option to adapt to digital!

Go for the 645 Pentax lenses, not much more expensive and they cover the entire GFX sensor since 645 is even larger

The Pentax 645 lenses look amazing. I've used the Mamiya 645 lenses and perform really well on the GFX sensor.

@ yes I find the Pentax and Mamiya 645 glass very comparable but my old man shot Pentax so I inherited his 75 and 150. Been pleased.

My 85/1.4 AI-S doesn’t vignette on my GFXs and 60/2.8 AF-D Macro is also pretty vignette-free. In case you have them lying around.

I don’t have any of them, but I still have my F-GFX adapter so I’ll keep an eye for them

I’d recommend the 50 1.7. Image circle is similar to the f2, and a bit glowy wide open, but even at f2 it gets very sharp. By the way, I adapt mamiya 645 glass on the 100s and I swear that out resolves the sensor! Especially if you get a focal reducer such as the Kipon. More pricy though but cheaper than GF glass.

I’ll have to check out the 1.7 if I can! I’ve adapted some Mamiya 645 glass before and mannnn the results are amazing. I used the 45mm & 80mm. I never tried them out with a focal reducer but the thought of that set up sounds really cool.

the 50mm 1.4 is my favorite k-mount lens in that focal length. definitely check that one out if you come across one! shout out to your Milkcrate cafe shirt! that’s family right there!

I’ll definitely be on the lookout! And yes! Milkcrate is awesome! I went every morning while was in Philly!

If you want to go "cheap-cheap", Samyang/Rokinon 85mm EF mount f1.4/T1.5 does not vignette on my gfx. Soft at 1.4 (THIN dof), but sharpens quite okay once you stop down.

Hmm I might have to try that out. Thank you for the suggestion!

Hi, do you need to use crop mode on the gfx or the lens cover the whole sensor without any dark corner? Thx

It covers the full sensor pretty well. The corners can still be a bit smeary, but the lens covers with no dark corners.

Try the Canon EF 40mm F2.8 STM. If you are looking for small vintage lenses for the GFX.

I’ll keep that lens on my radar! I’ve seen good things about it.
