@@wolof97 practice ffs! get off youtube and practice! unless you're checking out pinch harmonic videos. It's all about just barely touching the string with your thumb after picking it with the edge of your pick, for me around the middle of the under side of my thumb does it.
KingwolfMC Dig in with your pick hand and skip the string off the inside of your thumb skin then bend. Some extra gain helps at first if your amp is decent. Practice transitions on that pulse of the maggots “say it again” riff. Good luck.
The most psycho part about that album was it was written and recorded in the "Houdini Mansion" an INCREDIBLY haunted place and it was right when Corey decided to start getting sober. He was waking up with a bottle of Jack Daniels in hand and more in the bed. In his second book he talks about being in the shower and seeing some old guy in a tux walk past the bathroom door. And also how Clown had an alarm clock that kept going off in the middle of the night, even when he unplugged it. Then he lost it and broke the thing, only for it to show back up in his room plugged in and set right completely intact and going off again. Among many other things.
Thats pitch harmonics. I love how they sound. Can be difficult to do if you don't hold the pick just right. But once you get the hang of it- its real easy!
Yeah, he is saying "I push my fingers in my eyes, it's the only thing to end the pain" because the ache is giving him so much pain that that's the only thing he can do about it and that's what he does. But also the whole song is where you're looking at both sides of life to see that there is darkness within the light and also light within the darkness and that this is what life gives us.

The energy this band pours out in concerts is undeniable. This song is poetic as f..., corey has incredible skills with both singing and droppin bars. I am a hardcore Slipknot fan and i will be one forever!
My first concert is about to be them, I'm seeing them today. Opened by this is the moment, and wage war. My god I'm pumped.
As a white guy, this is the "White people are crazy" national anthem. It's still cool to see people try different genres.
This or “Bodies”.
Have you ever been to a slipknot concert? There is a variety of people there not only white.
Lets move away from that, search for "Nigerian rock wedding" on TH-cam and you will see that music doesn't choose race, and same is vice versa.
I was thinking the same thing.
I was just about to comment.....White people...... LOL
It's pretty fly.... ___ _ _____ ___
When he says you cannot kill what you did not create. Meaning the human soul.
Fun Fact: the big “ping” sound you hear throughout, and see a few times. The sound comes from actually hitting a beer keg with a baseball bat. They did this in the studio.
I love Clown lol
I think they also do it in their live performances for duality too. So simple but it adds to much to the song
Your reactions are the exact responses I want my friends to have when I show them a song I like 😂 I love how you have such an emotional response to the music!
The guitar squeal is called a pinch harmonic, to answer your question. Love the videos my man, been around a long time.
when headbanging is literally an instinctual reactions lol
If you want to do more Slipknot, I would personally suggest:
-- Psychosocial
-- Dead Memories
-- Snuff
-- Before I Forget
Love your reactions
30/30-150 by Stone Sour! I know it's not Slipknot, but equaly good!
Before I forget!
@@evanpugh7599 I forgot about that one! Added!
Heretic Anthem for sure
Up
My favorite part of your videos is the genuine smile you have on your face. Can’t fake that shit, just a lover of all music
4:46 - That moment when so many became a fan.
Maggot emerges from the larvae.
Hey same profile pic nice. Did a double take when I saw it
“I push my fingers into my eyes. It’s the only thing that Slowly Stops The Ache!” Hope this helps you out.
Clicked so fast for this one!!
Bro same
Yessir
We all maggots
This song is one of those songs that just stays in your memory, forever.
>me in high school listening to slipknot’s first album for the first time
“Bro, what the fuuuuuuck....”
"I'll never put my fingers near my eyes!" after he puts his fingers on his eyes
And this is how cultures come together, music, food, or just talking. We are all the same just with small little differences and that's what make it good.
The squeal sound they do on the guitar is called a pinch harmonic. Very sweet when placed right and they nailed it on this song
If you liked this then you'll like Before I forget by Slipknot too, its a banger and very similar to this. Psychosocial and Dead Memories are also incredible, definitely do some more slipknot
I think he'd like dead memories
He’d like only on and no life. To rap songs Corey experimented with on their first album
And Sulfur
I completely agree! 🔥🔥🔥
Got told I had lung cancer wensday and Ive been in the hospital all week waiting for you to drop a rock react and I wasent disappointed thanks man for some good content

Wishing you luck
Seeing him thoroughly enjoy this song makes me smile
I fucking love how excited you get reacting to these metal songs man, best reactor out there
The chorus is referring to the bad migraines Corey used to have, if you press your fingers into the top of your eyes it actually relieves the pressure build up in your head. I use to do this all the time too, I guess it’s not a common as I thought though
I've suffered with migranes for years and its almost a natural reaction to pin pressure to the eyes.. the mind knows how to alleviate severe pain when needed.
I got clusterheadaches and i push my fingers into my eyes during the nighttime for weeks at the time
I tie a cloth tightly on my forehead to get some relief while sleeping
i suffer from migraines and i constantly push the bridge of my nose and eyes to relieve the pain, even if it's just for a second. however, i never put what he is saying here together with that until today.
Whoa, that's what it means? Huh, thanks for info. I'm sorry you had to go through that.
I do push my fingers into my eyes to stop the ache dawg.
RIP JOEY
We’re turning him. Slowly. I get so happy every time I see bring me the horizon or slipknot in the title. Speaking of which, should react to Obey by Bring Me the Horizon ft. Yungblood.
He really should react to that one. That song’s amazing
Yes, obey is amazing
I was hoping more Pray for plagues or Diamonds aren’t forever lol but it may be to heavy to soon.
Austin Sanders may be? That’s way too much way too soon
Angelo M. Haha totally joking, I can’t see Layedback enjoying deathcore. I like to see when people got into BMTH. Because new fans of there new sound don’t even know how brutal these guys used to sound. Oli had some of the nastiest growls. My favorite album is Sempiternal. I like the deathcore era but I have to be in the mood for it. That’s the Spirit had some good ones too.
I'm two years late to the party, but I absolutely loved your reaction to this. It's good to see that you were able to hear the music for what it is, and you were able to understand where it was taking you and what it was attempting to do musically while it was still not from your preferred genre. Listening in this way is something I feel can not be taught. You either get it, or you don't.
Love how this band uses a keg as an instrument. No one expects it the first time around
NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISIT- oh
And you never miss it once you know it's there.
I listened to this a lot in high school, along with Mudvayne 'Not Falling' and 'Happy?'.. gotta love the mid '00s
Damn miss Mudvayne so much...
Slipknot, Mudvayne, The Union Underground both "Mr. Deadman" and "South Texas Deathride... man you got my brain to remember 20+ years ago, bravo Mantis 👏
@@Davelon420 that's awesome dude!! Too much good stuff to ever remember it all.., it's nice to get a reminder of what we've forgotten sometimes.. and now, we get to share some of these gems with younger generations too.
Here's hoping his Patreon keeps him on this road for a bit 👍
@@Davelon420 Static X in there somewhere too? I'm over here reminiscing, so I had to toss them in too 🤟🤙
Same here. Saw Mudvayne twice and Slipknot 3 or 4 times. I still remember when both came out. I got sent tot he office for writing the lyrics to “Surfacing” on my desk 😂
The guitar technique at 1:49 is called a “pinch harmonic” 👍 also, I would love a reaction to an Animals As Leaders song!
Aka a squeal 🤣😂
u right I just meant the technical term 😂
Guitarists love pinchies
I am a recent viewer of your reaction videos but I have to say I love how much you get into the music and the way you really consume the lyrics and discuss them. Brilliant, more effort than some reaction videos
Fun Fact: They rented that house from a family in Des Moines, Iowa, brought 30 or so maggots (slipknot fans) from around the world and went nuts. Supposedly this video cost them anywhere from 300K to 500K.
That's actually pretty cheap all things considered. Most videos back then for the big major label artists/bands cost around 1 million or so.
If he thinks this is good, we need to get him on Pulse of the Maggots
Say it again!
Hell yeah!

Just noticed “be true, be you” fits 2022 so extremely well.
"Jesus it never ends, it works it's waaaay insiiiide". The Knot has a way of working it's way inside your mind and makes your hair stand on end! Long Live the Nine!
Pinch harmonic or artificial harmonic. That's the "ehhhh" thing
React to:
Korn - Coming Undone
3 Doors Down - Kryptonite
The Offspring - Why Don't You Get A Job?
t.A.T.u. - All The Things She Said
Kyrptonite absolutely!
Need a little old school blink to this list. Adam song or all the small things maybe?
He needs to do the music video to "Right now" by korn
Absolutely Kryptonite. Absolutely.
I'm 41 years old. When Slipknot was killing it like back 2000? I used to think wtf is that noise. I hit my 30s and became a fan of a few songs. Music taste matures as you get older wiser. Sick reaction
"I will never push my fingers into my eyes" proceeds to push his fingers into his eyes. 😂
Lmao
Yes lol
Those were his eyebrows, not his eyes, but aight

This was honestly one of the best reactions I've ever seen.
You should check out his reaction to System of a Down’s B.Y.O.B lol
Duality is really the type of song to make you sweat from how hype it is
I’m 30 now 😔 I’ve been listening to them since middle school back in 2006, but I think of my middle school years and memories when I listen to music like this and the bands i listened to. i miss all of it.
I remember my first time hearing this song. Talk about getting chills and sweating.
React to “Spit it Out” live, corey taylor spits straight bars and the performance is wild
For real
The guy shown at the very beginning is a fan of the band that traveled all the way from the UK just to be in this video
The beginning of this song literally gives me an adrenaline rush every time I listen to it and I fucking love it.
One of the last songs of Joey as a drummer of Slipknot.
R.I.P. Joey Jordison
I am literally going to watch each and every single one of these videos, I LOVE peoples reaction to this kind of music or any music for that matter.
I'm guessing he's never heard Dig by Mudvayne. He's not ready for that 1 lol
Everyone needs some chad in their life
Brr brr ding
That is the song that got me hooked on Mudvayne! Still 1 of my fave songs ever!
Trust me, I saw them play this in concert yesterday in Pennsylvania, it's MUCH crazier live!
Your reaction when it goes from him singing the intro to that guitar riff is the exact reaction everyone has when they hear that first part. It’s amazing haha.
Now you need to listen to stone sour so you can hear the “softer” side of Corey
Nah he needs to delve deeper. Listen to some more slipknot or some Gojira
Disasterpiece followed by Vermillion Part II
Would really love to see his reaction on Bother
"i would never push my fingers into my eyes"....*as he puts his fingers to his eyes* XD
lay back and watch layedbak reactions. Can't stop myself from coming back to your reactions. keep it rolling.
He actually said "i left behind this little fact, you cannot kill what you did not create"
When guitars make that "reEeEuUU" noice thats a pinch hermonic😂
Pain in the ass can still never get it down properly
😯😯👻
Can’t believe u people actually listen to this shit. Ur defo possessed
Umar Ash-Shafi bro this song goes hard wym
this was exactly my reaction the first time I heard slipknot when I was 14 years old. brings me right back
Thats pitch harmonics. I love how they sound. Can be difficult to do if you don't hold the pick just right. But once you get the hang of it- its real easy!
pinch*
Yeah, he is saying "I push my fingers in my eyes, it's the only thing to end the pain" because the ache is giving him so much pain that that's the only thing he can do about it and that's what he does. But also the whole song is where you're looking at both sides of life to see that there is darkness within the light and also light within the darkness and that this is what life gives us.
When he said "Slipknot, you up to bat..." Yeah CLOWN is here with a BAT
