I went to a rock festival once where Avenged Sevenfold was the headliner. It started raining so a couple bands canceled. A7X decided to stay. By the time they came on the rain turned into a thunderstorm. A7X also had massive flamethrowers as part of the show. So there we were, with thunder and lightning crashing in the background, flames all around us, going hard in a mosh pit to this song. One of the craziest moments of my life. I'll never forget M. Shadows yelling out "This city is fucking crazy. You people are fucking wild"
A similar thing happened to me in Rockingham, NC when Metallica was on stage. It started raining with thunder and lightning. They had fire and whatnot on that tour but they didn't need it. All I remember is the lightning making it's own light show and the 4 guys playing their heart out. It seemed like the harder it rained or the nastier it was, the harder they played and the more we loved it. That was a beast of a concert.

That'd give Layedbak a better idea of why that song was so sad, especially the ending scenes of the video when they go into the archival footage of Rev
The imagery of each band member in the Insane Asylum is a representation of how each of them felt when the original drummer The Rev, passed away and how they felt coming to terms with that loss
Hella late to the party on this one, the imagery of the video is also heavily inspired by the film "Jacob's Ladder", a pretty heavy movie that late A7x drummer The Rev was a massive fan of. Word of caution if anyone checks out the film, it deals with some pretty intense subject matter.
This song, as well the entire album by the same name was dedicated to Jimmy "The Rev", their drummer who OD'ed. The lyrics are about their pain of the loss, but also their anger at him for letting himself get that bad. It's actually incredibly heartbreaking when you learn that this song is about someone they grew up with and loved like a brother.

I saw them in concert in 2010. They started setting up guitars and stuff on the stage and then there was a guy walking on the scaffolding up in the rafters. He looked drunk. He was staggering around everyone started yelling get down. The spot light got put on him. He then produced a noose put it around his neck and jumped before anyone really knew what was going on. As soon as the slack tightened and he hung there. The lights in the place went dark and there was a fireball and the first chord of the song kicked in. It was like getting punched in the gut and it was awesome. The dude was wearing a harness and they got him down discreetly. This is a true story. I will never forget that show.

For all of us, long time A7X fans, this video was one of the most powerfull ever, and the release of the whole album is one I think none of us is ever going to forget. As much as I love other albums, listening to this record for the first time is one of those experiences I can remember like it was yesterday, because it was painful, exciting, and just overwhelming altogether. Their drummer, The Rev, passed while they were writing the album, and for a while we all didn't even know if the band was going to continue without him. They decided to go on and, as a tribute to him, you can listen to some vocals he recorded before passing, and all his drums were recorded by one of his favorite drummers ever (Mike Portnoy). So My first A7x Show was the Nightmare tour in Springfield MA, they opened by having a dude get hanged over the stage right before the creepy tune came in for Nightmare. Left him there for like 2 songs just hanging out playing dead. Shit was WILD, that show made me a lifelong fan.
@gabecollins5585 they haven't been back to springfield, but they have been to Mohegan sun, Foxwoods, Boston TD garden, and several times to Mansfield MA which is close to Boston. I've caught several of those shows.
Hey, Layedbak A little bit of information about this song: This song was one of the last songs that was written by the original drummer, Jimmy "The Rev"Sullivan, prior to his untimely death, he'd actually written the drum track but hadn't recorded it prior to his untimely death, hence the empty drum kit displayed at the end of the video and the reason why you never saw the the drummer's performance throughout the video's runtime When the band did record the drum track, they'd recruited Dream Theater drummer, Mike Portnoy, to play the drums on this song and offered to have him in the music video, but Portnoy declined to appear in the video as he'd felt that it'd take away from the feeling of the song and that it implied that he'd officially become the drummer for Avenged Sevenfold in the wake of Rev's passing
Brings me so much joy to watch his face light up for something new every 10 seconds or so in this song. One of my favs. Insane, unbelievable modern band
It’s even better live I got the pleasure to go see them live this week in Charlotte at the pnc music pavilion and got to say it was down the best concert I’ve ever been to so much energy between falling in reverse Kim Dracula and avenged and they gave it their all and we all had a blast at the park
I've been to their concerts 3x and they played it once, mosh pits tried to form but the music was SO good people just wanted to jump up and down, headbang, and rock tf out!! outside of Metallica they are hands down the BEST I have ever seen in person!
I was scared you won't be reacting to Avenged after your experience with A Little Piece of Heaven But I had been waiting and hoping for this reaction nonetheless cuz I knew you'd get mad hyped😂💪
I saw them at a festival and they played a _huge_ set, so all their really good songs, the popular and the unpopular, had a time to shine and that show was damn crazy. M. Shadows, the singer, literally flew in with a helicopter during the concert.
Nobody ever mentions how good Syn is at solos. Solos have become rarer and rarer nowadays in favor of breakdowns, but A7x keeps that old tradition going. They really shedded that emo screamy style a while back. A shame they've been just out of the spotlight for the last decade or so, they deserve more fame like when they where in the 2000's.
I grew up listening to this song, never knowing what it was called until a came upon this reaction. My mom had a friend who always blasted this in the car. One of my favorite memories! :)

wait Joyner lucas? did they release a new version???
I'm surprised he hasn't reacted to that yet
they already had D.O.A but they made a another track featuring Joyner on it
Ya the music video they recently released has a Joyner ft. It's a dope video too
Nightmare goes hard live, saw them back in July (2023) despite Matt's vocal surgery and having to regain his voice, it was outstanding.
I wish someone would request What the Dead Men Say - Trivium, it's from their new album and it's got a music video. Pure art.
I prefer In Waves or A Gunshot to the Head of The Trepidation. But maybe I choose WTDMS first
Buried Alive by avenged sevenfold has another great transition
up
A good music video too!
It's also a great live song as well, ive seen them 5 times now and they've played it every time.
Needs to listen to ' A Little Piece of Heaven' if he thought that was crazy...
he already did th-cam.com/video/prpShF0Ou7Q/w-d-xo.html
He did that a few months back. That is how he was introduced to Avenge...he was gobsmacked!
Fair, only stumbled across him 2 days ago. Will give it a look :D thanks both
@@vitusblack5289 i gotta watch comments more cus i wanted to see that reaction time to watch it
@@stephaniepope7918 his first one was hail to the king i think. Cuz im alpoh he said he's heard of them
Its nice to see people just genuinely appreciate the art in all types of music. He vibes with everything🤟
I seen them in concert and they opened with this song. It was pitch black when the beginning was playing And when it jumped into the song, they had fire and crazy lights. It was such a great experience. The crowd was fucking nuts. I was in the front :) it was so great seeing you enjoy this !
So My first A7x Show was the Nightmare tour in Springfield MA, they opened by having a dude get hanged over the stage right before the creepy tune came in for Nightmare. Left him there for like 2 songs just hanging out playing dead. Shit was WILD, that show made me a lifelong fan.
Oh wow I live right next to there. Do they still do shows in the area ever?
@gabecollins5585 they haven't been back to springfield, but they have been to Mohegan sun, Foxwoods, Boston TD garden, and several times to Mansfield MA which is close to Boston. I've caught several of those shows.
@@neisan92 K thanks
Hey, Layedbak
A little bit of information about this song:
This song was one of the last songs that was written by the original drummer, Jimmy "The Rev"Sullivan, prior to his untimely death, he'd actually written the drum track but hadn't recorded it prior to his untimely death, hence the empty drum kit displayed at the end of the video and the reason why you never saw the the drummer's performance throughout the video's runtime
When the band did record the drum track, they'd recruited Dream Theater drummer, Mike Portnoy, to play the drums on this song and offered to have him in the music video, but Portnoy declined to appear in the video as he'd felt that it'd take away from the feeling of the song and that it implied that he'd officially become the drummer for Avenged Sevenfold in the wake of Rev's passing
Damn he’s jamming oooooouuut I love to see people’s first reactions to avenged
Brings me so much joy to watch his face light up for something new every 10 seconds or so in this song. One of my favs. Insane, unbelievable modern band
It always makes me happy seeing someone else appreciate a band that means so much to me. A7X
Hearing nightmare live was one of my greatest expierences in life, This guys live are quiet a show
It’s even better live I got the pleasure to go see them live this week in Charlotte at the pnc music pavilion and got to say it was down the best concert I’ve ever been to so much energy between falling in reverse Kim Dracula and avenged and they gave it their all and we all had a blast at the park
They played this song thrn fid a tribute for the rev
Seen Avenged 9 times and they’re one of the best bands I’ve ever seen live.
I've been to their concerts 3x and they played it once, mosh pits tried to form but the music was SO good people just wanted to jump up and down, headbang, and rock tf out!! outside of Metallica they are hands down the BEST I have ever seen in person!
I've watched this reaction so many times!! Need more Avenged!
Hey it's fun to watch him to react to transitions and ONE by Metallica has one of the smoothest ones let's be honest
Avenged Sevenfold “Unholy Confessions” Live in Long Beach California!
this is the reason why i have been their biggest fan for straight 14 years... their music changed my life and R.I.P to Jimmy Sullivan
I was scared you won't be reacting to Avenged after your experience with A Little Piece of Heaven
But I had been waiting and hoping for this reaction nonetheless cuz I knew you'd get mad hyped😂💪
He actually did Hail to The King after Piece of Heaven. So he didn't completely swear off them lol.
I'm just hoping this leads him to doing more A7X.
LaydBack: "I'm tempted to turn it up"
Seasoned Metalheads: "This is a mistake"
I literally screamed "DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!" @ my phone
Wait what? All the way up is the only way to listen to it
I saw them at a festival and they played a _huge_ set, so all their really good songs, the popular and the unpopular, had a time to shine and that show was damn crazy. M. Shadows, the singer, literally flew in with a helicopter during the concert.
keep up the rock reactions man, we love them. could u react to 'like a stone' by Audioslave?
Fuck that. Cochise.
Seen them bruh.
They bare fucking KILLER!
and im gassed to see your positive reaction to them.
My favourite band BY FAR ❤️
I’ll say it louder this time WISHING FOR A HERO - POLO G
Btw I’m in Patreon requesting this imma just put it here so it get more recognition
Yessir bro he should do the whole album
Avenged sevenfold is where it’s at you should do more rock music trash or passes.
seen them live 3 times. played it everytime. been noticed by the vocalist, lead guitarist, and bassist. greatest shows of my life!
Avenged sevenfold - MIA & gunslinger , songs are just a whole other level
finally someone else who gets it, both f those are like my favorite songs, although i'd have to say mia cuz it was my favorite for too long
First reaction'' So far away-Avenged Senvenfold''(when they lost a friend, the drummer)
I’ve seen them live. Their whole set is amazing, man. From pyro to visuals. Energy is amazing
At the beginning when he said "I'm tempted to turn it up" I was thinking to Myself, yes crank it bro
PLEASE DO BULLS ON PARADE- RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE
we got it to second place on patreon
I grew up listening to this song, never knowing what it was called until a came upon this reaction. My mom had a friend who always blasted this in the car. One of my favorite memories! :)
I’d love to see a Killswitch engage This fire reaction
Try " almost easy " by avenged sevenfold. My personal favorite. Or " afterlife " by avenged sevenfold.
I’ve been to almost every Ax7 concert and have all there albums. Love avenged sevenfold!
React to Avenged Sevenfold - Afterlife, similar sort of track, you’d love it😄
SOMEONE TELL HIM TO LISTEN TO A LITTLE PIECE OF HEAVEM BY AVENGED SEVENFOLD I WANNA SEE HIS REACTION SO BAD
He did actually! But he hated it 😂😂
They're absolutely insane live, and he sounds just as good live.. and they dominate the stage
You should react to “Lost in the Static” by After Burial.
th-cam.com/video/p_fT3DQJ29o/w-d-xo.html hire
