After living in the southwest for 30 years, a very warm climate, I have found that pocket carry with a Remora holster works every day. Cargo shorts or cargo-type pants can easily be found and you can wear the correct size. The Hellcat, Taurus Gx4, Sig P365 all easily work and are totally shootable with real good capacity. Plus on a couple occasions, when things looked a little questionable, I just calmly put my hand in my pocket and observe and nobody thinks anything...Ready to draw if need be. These micro 9's have changed the game and they are enjoyable to practice with and are reliable and accurate. My two cents.
Thanks for the tip on the Remora holster. My favorite part of the channel is being able to interact with people from a broad experience base. Thanks for your two cents krashdude, always appreciated!
As I have aged, old man issues show up making carrying more of a challenge. I can't have a gun on my right side because of an undiagnosed swelling on my right side. (I am right handed) So I switched to cross draw, and I learned something important. I always carried strong side until now. However, most of the time, most of us sit a lot more than we stand, and drawing from sitting is a LOT easier with cross draw. Whether it is sitting at home, at a restaurant, at work, in a truck, whatever. So out in the woods hunting or hiking, I put up with strong side for awhile with my discomfort, but otherwise I always go cross draw now. As for the Israeli army argument, I always point out to people who think that they should do the same, that they need to be carrying their real weapon of war also, their automatic rifle. The sidearm is only a last ditch backup to their real weapon. This is not what civilians need to do. So carry your handgun ready to use, or don't bother carrying. Leave military strategy to the army.
Like you, I have been armed in public for decades. I initially watched your content as a refresher, asking myself what bad habits have I adopted over the years. I don't agree with everything you said, but the majority I do. While listening to your presentation it became apparent to me that once you walk out the front door, you're all set until you get to your vehicle when a completely new set of problems present themselves. There isn't a lot of content out there about driving armed, and frankly it's while driving that people are increasingly more likely to encounter a life threatening situation. I like your presentation style and I think this might be a new direction to take your instruction....
It just amazes me, I'll buy a good quality production holster from Amazon say for a Glock 19 and they will send me a question that someone asks. They will ask if the holster for the Glock 19 will fit a Bersa, High Standard, or whatever. Like I don't understand these people, look-up and buy a holster for your gun. Why would you want to stick a gun in a holster sized for another gun. I see why you made this video, some people really need it.
#7 is huge! Often EDC know the rules but they think to bend them and then ask for forgiveness. Not working, not acceptable. Leave the emotions at home when carrying and judge the situation based on IDOL, only. We, the EDC community, are judge as such, so we all represent each other. Let's be as responsible as we can as only that ensures that we, as a community, are accepted .
As a survivor of more than one deadly encounter during my career this video is spot on, especially carrying w/o a round in the chamber. My EDC has been a J Frame since 1968 (Ret. since ‘97) but I’m an old guy w/back & hip problems that preclude a large, heavy gun.
Most carry guns are pistols. When carrying a round in the chamber, people have probably shot themselves 1000 times more than they have required a round in the chamber for self defense.
Where did you come up with this number? Never heard anything like this before. GSW injuries are a reportable event so real numbers should be easy to come by if any of your claim is legit.
Part of my ever day getting dressed is putting on my daily carry gun. It may change , depending on the outside conditions like hot day smaller concealed gun because I wear t shirts all the time , but in the cold weather I can wear a jacket and a bigger gun concealed. I agree that you need to practice with your every day carry is very important. I am not a skinny person so I am very particular about my holster choices for all my guns.
I'm glad you addressed printing. I get annoyed when a gun store owner acts like their acceptance of printing is the only scenario. There are situations where there would be serious social consequences if people saw a piece under your shirt.
I had the conversation with my wife and son on defence of life. The conversation came up when my wife said she would point a gun at someone stealing our car in the driveway. I had to make the point that in Georgia it is illegal to do that unless they are threatening you. If you point it at them while they are in the car trying to steal it, you will likely get charged with a crime. Do I think you should be able to use it to protect property, absolutely. But until SHFT or WROL, you don't want to be in jail for doing this. I've talked with many people who say if someone is stealing there stuff on their property, they would shoot them. I believe Texas is one of the few states that allow you to shoot someone who is stealing from you, but most people need to spend time looking up the laws that apply to their state.
Even in Texas, if I recall correctly, you can only use deadly force in defense of property AT NIGHT, which opens up a whole other can of worms. I live in Texas but I've adopted the mindset that it's not nearly worth it to shoot someone over property--both from the standpoint of taking someone else's life, and also from the lifechanging legal and economic hassles you could well get put through.
you are absolutely correct on all points. I sit all day in a wheelchair or recliner. so i usually carry appendix owb but i just ordered a carjacker holster a leather shop in florida so I will need to practice with my draw again from a new holster
I 100% agree with the tip of practicing while wearing your everyday clothes. Before I retired from my law enforcement agency, I spend 85% of career in our detectives division, first as a working detective and then a manager. Our Chief directed that his detectives were to look like detectives so our mode of dress was suit and tie. Hours and hours of practice while drawing from concealment while wearing a suit jacket sustained me. I learned tips like having my tailor sew an additional portion of liner on the inside of my suit coats where the jacket draped over my pistol, spare magazines and cuffs. The additional liner added just a bit more rigidity which led to easier draw strokes.
Thank you for taking the time to comment on our content. I obviously have never met you but while reading your post I was reminded about one of the things I love most about this culture.....attention to small details like tailoring clothes. I have no doubt you were an excellent detective. Thanks for watching and enjoy your retirement.
Thank you for your information. I really appreciated your last point. I have always been shocked that people so quickly say “If someone is stealing my truck I will shoot them.”. How irresponsible! A life for a truck. That’s why you have insurance. A gun is to protect life. Not spinning rims. I plan to be well rehearsed before I ever carry. That plus a CWP. It’s my debt to my community.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I have said many times information is vital and getting it from varied sources is vitaler! Bad english aside thanks again and be safe.
I have been told and taught that I should carry a full size firearm. Full size handguns have a better sight radius, they're easier to shoot and they have a higher magazine capacity if in a semi auto. I usually carry a S&W 629 in 44 magnum or a SIG P229 in .40 caliber. I handle them well, they're very comfortable for me to carry outside the waistband.
The reason a lot of people are terrified they would be discovered carrying is for several reasons. For one, many states, including mine until a few years ago, if even a bit of your gun became exposed, it was considered brandishing & you could be arrested & charged. Also many people see the gun & will go crazy screaming and/or call the cops on you which is a big PITA & can lead to all kinds of problems. The fact that you aren't aware of issues like this, tells me a lot about your knowledge (or lack thereof) about the subject you are trying to instruct people in.
My favorite channel🦾 Can’t wait till this becomes the biggest firearm channel on TH-cam! You should drop some Merch (Hats/Shirts) so all of your supporters can represent properly worldwide‼️

Dear Sir, I have a Glock 26 & 27 i faver the 27 cause of the 40 s&w i do have a fobus hoster that fits both same gun in size i shoot purity reg. a mag a week or so not the best but can hold my own like to be better out of the to guns what would chose i know you said something about the glock 19 never got to shoot one and you said people carry with out in chamber they need a brick to carry have a glock 22 i use the 40 and have a 357 sig barrol for it i go back and forth on it i like your moto use the one you can control what ever it may be.
I'm a bit guilty of #2, as my EDC is Bond Arm's Bullpup 9, it's a pretty small firearm, with a long trigger pull. ...I'm still new around here, so I'm still practicing with it, & my aim is getting much better & faster. I love the lil guy, it's just not the fastest firearm to pick up & auto-win with. Regarding carrying 1 in the chamber, it took me about a ~year to get to that point. Because I needed range time to understand my trigger before being comfortable with the Bullpup 9's trigger.
I can pack maybe 3 or 4 rolls of yarn 🧶 and pop off maybe 2 hats by noon so you just always gotta keep that yarn on you , you never know when yoll have time to work on your project
Wow, thanks for your confidence Randy! I take the content seriously and base it not on my own opinion but the reflections of industry leaders I have been privileged to know like Ben DeWalt at OnSight Firearms Training. Train em' up and thanks for your time! For me, the best part is the feedback from our viewers.
Most people carry subcompacts and compact firearms not because of less recoil but because they're easier to stick in your pocket recoil is not part of the equation most small handguns pocket pistols have a lot of recoil even in 32 caliber so your assumption that most people think that they have less recoil or whatever is BS they carry him because it's the ease of Carrie there are a lot of compromises that come with carrying a compactor subcompact fewer rounds heavier recoil and the people that carry them understand this the compromise is I can stick it in my pants pocket or my coat pocket and not have to have a holster for it I carried an old Davis 380 for years had five rounds 380 automatic was in three gunfights with that gun and never felt outnumbered or outpowered because I knew how to run my gun likewise for nearly 10 years I carried a revolver 38 special Smith & Wesson model 60 was in a couple of gun fights with that one too again came out on top because I know how to run my gun and I'm not an everyday carry guy how much you call sometimes carry guy mainly because sometimes you don't don't have a permit or the situation doesn't allow you to carry any type of weapon including pocket knives go through an airport see how long it takes them to stop you take you off to the side and put you in handcuffs for carrying a firearm without a permit or with a permit in there
The solution to "not carrying a round in the chamber", which I agree is bad, is carry a revolver. There is a round ready to and to top it off....no safety to actuate...other than a heavy DA trigger pull.
The biggest reason people don’t practice drawing from the holster is because most indoor ranges don’t allow it. Just like they don’t allow rapid fire. Not everyone has access to land they can shoot on.
Absolutely agree with all you said... I guess I'm lucky in the sense that I can and do, wear oversized polo shirts everywhere I go (really nice ones to be sure, but untucked polo shirts none the less - sometimes I just need to trim the length a little so they don't show bellow the sport coat? But you take them to be fixed once you buy them, and that's it - ... It has been the "unofficial uniform of the day" in my line of business for quite some years now. And thanks God, for Polo shirts!) And I mean EVERYWHERE. Almost always I add an open blazer, or sport coat over it and it allows me to always EDC my G23 AIWB and draw basically exactly the same way, with or without coat. Simple. So my days of suits and ties are really a thing of the past, to the point where even my wife does not bother to suggest I where one anymore. Great info as usual... Oh and by the way, I've been privileged of the opportunity of training with Shin-Bet officers and guess what: At least the ones I've trained with, carried their pistols fully loaded with one in the chamber too. There's a historical reason for the "Israeli method" but nowadays, many units (not all of them, but MANY...) in the IDS have filed that method to the history books too. Just saying... :>0
I appreciate you taking the time to comment on our content. I agree the information relating to the Israeli military is some years old. I was actually taken to task one day in the gun store over this topic. And thank goodness is has been laid to rest. Thanks again for watching.
Former LE and security here. I've been carrying a gun for 15 years. Trust me you are not prining nearly as bad as you think you are. Most people are so oblivious you could have purple hair and they probably wouldn't notice.
Well done, good video. I carry every day, everywhere. I carry two. 357 & 38 on my belt. And when I carry two autos I use a shoulder holster. I dress to fit my ass and not my ego. Weapons are well concealed. Why carry two? I've been around a lil' bit in my 7 decades on the planet and have mastered the art of 'classic misdirection'. Ergo, one weapon may be used for misdirection, and the other, not.
Not carrying a round in the chamber is NOT A MISTAKE. It's a personal choice and depends 1000% on the situation and the firearm. More people shoot themselves with striker "safe action" firearms more than other common gun actions. One must decide if being able to shoot someone 1 second faster is worth the risk of shooting yourself or a loved one. 100% of kids accidentally shot were shot by guns with a round in the chamber.
Using your advice, I should leave my gun home because I feel safer without a round in the chamber??? Amazing. 2.18 - 1.43 = .75 seconds. If 3/4 of a second is that critical, you probably are getting shot by the bad guy. Not having an accidental discharge as well as being aware and anticipation is more important than a speed draw difference of less than a second. Besides, I'm pretty sure quick draws only work in cowboy movies.
I feel naked without my gun on my hip. I get up and before I grab keys, sunglasses (which are shooting glasses I bought at a gun store), cell phone, or wallet, my gun is on my hip, holstered and comfortable.
I've heard that from people that don't shoot or train with their firearms or are new to firearms in general. The explanation I was given when I brought up the negatives was that they thought it was easier to grip and manipulate. Not understanding physics or a proper two-handed handgun grip.
And just as a final note one last comment and I'll get off any gun is better than no gun so stop telling people they're making mistake by caring whatever 2238 45 whatever it is subcompact full size what have you if they want to carry a R15 on the freaking street they can but I'll tell you this if you've got a 22 semi auto that's just as good for anything just learn how to run your guns and you'll be fine
The people that choose to carry a firearm don't care people know that they have a firearm and the people who are concerned about it shouldn't be carrying one because other ones are going to get shot
Number one rule of a gun fight... Have one. Gunfighters: no shit Average people: that makes sense Unicorns: why do you need guns? Dead unicorns: I hate unicorns.
If I got caught by my employer carrying a gun I would be fired and black balled. My employer dictated my clothing and my experience isn't unique. Sorry but many of us can either carry daily or carry a mid size gun not both.
One out of every 100 people that apply for a carry permit actually received the permit so how can you everyday carry if you don't have a permit permits are unconstitutional and they are illegal yeah according to California law we still have to have one in order to carry our everyday carry and exercise our constitutional rights everyday carry means everyday carry regardless of whether or not you have a permit that's the reason most people leave their guns at home because they don't have a permit what's your excuse for them what is your answer to that s***

Another great video - clear presentation and plenty of information! As a new ccw person I continue to learn!
Great info thru your video! Semper Fi Brother, keep up the great work! Bravo1/6 here
Amen brother. I am a newer gun owner and concealed carrier. My instructor keeps drilling these into my head

you are absolutely correct on all points. I sit all day in a wheelchair or recliner. so i usually carry appendix owb but i just ordered a carjacker holster a leather shop in florida so I will need to practice with my draw again from a new holster

How big is everyone's box of unused holsters and accessories??
Mine is the max size carry-on suitcase.
Thank you for your information. I really appreciated your last point. I have always been shocked that people so quickly say “If someone is stealing my truck I will shoot them.”. How irresponsible! @AmmoMart you're very welcome, and I look forward to more great content.
Thanks, I learned a lot watching your video.
I just found your channel! Good advice. Thanks for the video.
Yeah... "Hoping for the best." is often times disastrous in every day mundane tasks. I can't imagine applying it to firearms concealed carry.
I live in Memphis. I rotate between my canik tp9sf or my s&w sd40
Outstanding video!
Excellent list of common mistakes
Thank you... New to carrying my SW 10mm.. Video is so informational..
At the ROUNDED website. I do not see an OWB kydex holster for the BRG9. Did they make it special for you? I would like a RH for my new BRG9.
Being a rather small human I like my Glock 43 but since the sig p365xl was released I’m very interested in it
Check out the Ruger LCP MAX. Shoots and performs great. I'm on the small side too and it's just right for appendix carry in a small holster.

Good stuff. Carry rotations is another thing. Testing the draw with the clothing before going out is helpful.

Where did you get that jacket?
I get them at Tractor Supply, a really cool chain around our area. They used to be called Quality Farm and Fleet. Thanks for watchingm
@@AmmoMart Sorry to be a bother. What is the brand name?
Not at AmmoMart Website either.
Just remember you have fans even in Africa
The biggest reason people don’t practice drawing from the holster is because most indoor ranges don’t allow it. Just like they don’t allow rapid fire. Not everyone has access to land they can shoot on.
You can practice drawing at home.
That’s not the same as drawing on the range. Just like dry firing isn’t the same as live fire.

Bom dia aqui do Brasil 🇧🇷. Parabéns pela honestidade e consciência. Deus abençoe todos nós.
It’s so stupid to carry without one in the chamber! Seen so many videos where it cost the person his/her life.
I always carry a conceal knife in front of me . Because you just never know what kind of predicament you will get into .
The guys in the hot zones that carry without a round in the chamber do it because they have too not cuz they want to
Why would anyone think a smaller gun would recoil less if they know it’s a the same caliber of a larger gun?
Great video
Wait- people ACTUALLY think smaller guns are "easier" to shoot?! LOL
I have noticed that no one pays attention when I walk around with a gun under my shirt.
The people that choose to carry a firearm don't care people know that they have a firearm and the people who are concerned about it shouldn't be carrying one because other ones are going to get shot
Number one rule of a gun fight... Have one.
Gunfighters: no shit
Average people: that makes sense
Unicorns: why do you need guns?
I live in the Northwest, been carrying for 40 years: If the fool population of your state keeps reelecting communists then I'd move!
