Meguiar’s is one of the major corporate sponsors for Ford Nationals in Carlisle PA. They may sponsor other Carlisle events but definitely Ford Nationals. They have a trailer and even have a bucket cut around the edges to make it easy for pets to drink from. They think of more than just showing and selling. They have a demo stand set up to show hands on how to use their products, buffer, polishes, sealants, wax etc....
Stephen Cannon I also like Meguiar’s because they really take care of their customers. I love that their product reps are in forums and on TH-cam helping educate end users on how to get the most out of their products. I never feel like I’m getting a sales pitch to buy 5 more products like I do with most other detailing product companies.
I really appreciate a representative on YT to explain how to use. Bought the product today and I didn’t use it right. I used too much, and rinsing didn’t make sense to me. So next time I use it I’ll do better.
Ok so as a disclaimer I’m a meguiars fan but let me give us guys the run down. Pros it does create that water run off coating, it does have a nice shine to it. Now the cons, u must absolutely follow these instructions because if u put in on in the traditional manner I can see how this can go bad. U will spend time after drying it wiping/buffing it as streaks etc will show. I would recommend that when u water down the car the second time do the car in sections so that it’s not already drying up thus easier to achieve the look.honestly the shine is very nice but I used the shine armor and my car, 2019 black Audi A5 sportback had a deeper black/shine..but yes it works follow the directions.
Some b-roll footage of gorgeous bikini clad ladies demonstrating product use would've so 80's but appropriate in this awesome video! I'm buying some of this ASAP!
I'm a waterless guy. So all i do to use this is spritz up the car with distilled water panel by panel. Then spritz HCW onto a wet microfiber pad, and wipe it over the car. It turns into a thin milky liquid. Then with a microfiber I buff dry. I switch between Collinite 845, Collinite 915, Ultimate Liquid Wax, Ultimate Fast Finish and now this.
I learned how to apply it like that from Brian with Apex Detail. That bottle should last me at least 2 years, and I bought a second. A bottle of TW Ice Spray and Wax may last me one year making Meguiar's HCW much cheaper to use.
1. Wash your car 2. While its wet take a micro sponge from Wal-Mart it's $2.00. Spray sponge. 3. Work sponge back and forth side to side over whole car. Spray car with water all over. 4. Dry off. You can put it on your window's too. Spray tires with Coverall spray from O'REILLY's. Your done will last for a least 3 month's. To boost the wax. Wash car. Then Reply the wax and hit with water and dry again. Repeat when you feel the beading is not up to snuff. The shine is awesome! That's it! Shawn
I followed Shawn's advice and got spectacular results. He's obviously someone that knows what he's doing. Even though my vehicle is fairly new, the results were amazing! Used chemical guy's Black Light car wash soap on my black truck then left it wet using Shawn's method to apply the Hybrid Ceramic Wash, dried with microfiber towels and WOW. Tom
No, Apply alot of water! Take microfiber sponge and go over your car. Then take a microfiber towel and dry the car down. Mine has lasted over 2 months. Shawn
Shawn..ill jus use wax twice a month..takes me a hour each time..i like the fact that with traditional wax..i can see what iam applying..and what iam taking off..and to see the results after..is very satisfying..i feel this product wont do that for me
It does last noticeably longer if you apply it dry but it does take more work to wipe off. I get about 3 months with 2 coats as they state but about 4 months with one layer applied dry. I'm use to QP ON 2.0 which is basically the same to install as the mequires directions but lasts a little longer but sheets a little less. We need more sheeting products on the market, jalps keep the panels cleaner and speeds up drying time significantly when you flood the panels and you could dry a vehicle with a 16x12 standard microfiber.
Excellent video!! 👍 I personally got 3 months of durability out of it. Still had a little life left but the beading was not as impressive so I decided to reapply it. (Satisfied with 3 months... met my expectations) This is my absolute go to product after washing the car... then to put the icing on the cake I top it off with Beadmaker. The hydrophobics, gloss and slickness with this combo is astounding!
@@edruiz6364 Unfortunately I can't make any durability claims using both products together since I haven't tested them in that way. Nonetheless if you like HCW by itself I think you will be very impressed with the results using Beadmaker as a finisher.

Hi, i have washed the car then after dry i applied the Meguiars ultimate compound and then i applied the meguiars ultimate polish. Now my question is.. Can i applied this ceramic wax spray over this polish as a protection? If yes then the procedure will remain same as in your video?
It works MUCH BETTER by applying it dry and buffing it in! Yes,it takes longer and more elbow grease but you'll get better results, not to mention you litteraly wash away most of it with the wet apply.
Wtf..then why this vid says different..i like the old fashion elbow grease with a carb wax..so jus do the same with this product? Spray on dry..buff off dry?
@@edubb2491 partially right. I personally prefer a dry application as well. Start with a wet and slightly wrung out towel or application pad. Spray one small spray of MHCW onto it and apply to dry clean paint one section at a time, then immediately buff dry with a plush dry towel. The product is water activated. It needs water in the process.
Question, I have a brand new car, so I can wash it, rinse it off, spray a little on wet surface and wipe dry, and that’ll be my foundation layer. Or because it’s waxed already I can do the wash rinse off, mist and rinse off then dry.
I like watching videos like this before buying the product. I am using another brand at the moment and still have some left. But I may try this one later. I am curious, though, how this product compares to the Mothers brand with similar products? I saw another video of you showcasing Mother’s and had a Mother’s rep with you.
I use this about once a month; last time I got lucky and it rained overnight on a car I washed so I sprayed and wiped while wet and then dried. You can spray on and rinse like they say but I have better results spreading it out before rinsing.
This stuff is awesome. I’m on SSD and in a lot of pain and can’t use regular buffing waxes. I just stay it an rinse and that’s it. It really works great.
I don't want water beading. My question is Does it provides gloss or not.? I already have Meg ultimate paste wax do I need ceramic wax too.? Will it do any different than ultimate paste wax
Waande Awam I personally use it as a coat.Stack it on top of meg ultimate as it will help main the wax longer. Plus is I noticed it helped brighten my old wax that was already 2 months old.
I just applied it onto my car, followed each single step you mentioned, I got a mix of descent shine plus a wheels and circles of the product, don’t know, should I wash my car to remove the layer or what should I do? Easier said than done.
You say, wash first and then hcw base layer on it and then the maintenance layer. Is it then not necessary to decontaminate the car after washing, to remove the contamination before applying HCW or is this not really necessary?
Used this product at the weekend for the first time, drove to work this morning in the rain & their isn't as much muck stuck to the car as their usually is,so it def keeps the car clean.
Ok, I clay barred my Durango as it needed it badly. Then I rinsed it off and applied the Ceramic spray to put down the initial coating. I dried it and wet it down again to apply the ceramic again and then rinsed it off. I felt like the spray didn't cover all of the surface. I was afraid I'd use too much. I will say the Durango looks much better, but it is hard for me to see how this protects the paint. Yes, I'm an "old school" wax guy. but we'll see how well it holds up before I use it on my Vette. Can I use a detail spray later on or will it interfere with the ceramic wax?
The instructions on the bottle says the first time to spray the dry car with the product and wipe off. No water necessary. Wrong. It will dry within a few minutes and then you have a problem. Do a panel at at time.
I think the directions on the bottle confused me. I rinsed the vehicle, then I sprayed the product on, then rinsed off. Lastly, I dried it. Does that work?
Amen on the overuse! But, if you do, you’ll have to use some elbow grease and man does it shine afterward. But yes, so much easier with less. Even with a pressure washer (on moderate pressure) it’s still hard to remove a the film if you use too much. But all in all, a great product. Thx, men.
I have used the Meguiar hybrid ceramic wax for 1 year. Today I washed and sprayed on my 2014 black corvette and rinsed under the shade. I towel dried and it left big brown spots and they look like big water spots all over the car. It took 3/5 effort to rub them off. Scared me at first. There seemed to be some chemical reaction between the new spray and the underlying paint with previous coat of Meguiar hybrid wax. What are they? I have never sprayed and rinsed, I always spray and buff with towels before.
I haven't tried it yet, but, what if it gets on the glass and plastic parts? I know it will mist onto the windshield. Is it a good glass polish? Do I try hard to avoid it? What about the trim, tail lights, etc?
Questions:(1) does it transfer to the windshield and cause issues there? (2) how does affect clear coat paints?(3) cars usually get dirty within a week of waxing and need to be washed.....does this last through a few car washings or do you need to reapply each car wash?
Thanks i was driving myself crazy...i sprayed that bitch like 6 times on a 3 x 3 section lol i was like why is it so oily..haha thanks for the clarification
I used the whole bottle on two treatments for my car lol, I drained it in this stuff and the car was shining like hell. Felt like it was unneccesary to just add a few sprays
Interesting I just washed and waxed my Mini Cooper and followed the directions on the bottle BEFORE watching this. Totally different directions than the video .
Ok so I just laid my "foundational layer" down... Maybe I overused cause I'm still finding streaks a day later. However the biggest thing I've noticed is that my car seems to be a major just magnet now, which could be a problem cause I live on a dirt road . Like way more than before. I haven't done an additional wash and application yet but I did notice (before all the dust) my paint looked great. Looking forward to see how it reacts to the next wash or rain. But with all the dust am I gonna get crazy spots? Anyone else had this problem?
I just bought this stuff today. Just wondering if there's any precautions I should follow for applying it to a car with vinyl stripes. Is it safe to apply it to the whole car or do I need to work around the stripes?
In my opinion the first application was like waxing the car. Took a while to get it right. Lots of buffing to get rid of streaks. Looking forward to trying the rinse method
I washed my car thoroughly, then sprayed the still wet car with Hybrid Ceramic spray and spread it evenly with a microfiber towel. Then I buffed out the residue with another microfiber towel and there were no streaks, just clean and glossy paint.
So is this meant to completely replace a traditional wax or sealant that you would apply and buff off? Or is it more of a “booster” product for extra shine and beading on top of an existing LSP?
The Car I purchased in April this year has a Ceramic coated finish. Apart from washing with Meguairs Gold class wash can I now use Hybrid Ceramic wax as a maintenance polish. ? Tony.

I’m glad I found this video, I’ve must’ve watched 15 before finding this one, finally have the correct way to apply this product to my brand new car. I’m trying to protect the brand new paint on the car and add to the already existing shine. I’m excited to see the results.
I just clayed my 26 year old boat and put this product on. The results were fantastic. PS I heard about this on the youtube channel , project farm
Just picked up a bottle myself. Been wanting to try it out. Also if you read on the back of the bottle it even says a little goes a long way haha. I'm already familiar with spray wax on a wet car. I've been using turtle waxes Wet and Dry for a long time now figured I've give Megs a try.
Well, you just answered my questions on how much to use.... 8-10 cars per bottle. 4 sprays for the hood... Wow, I was definitely over-using it. I can tell you it is SLICK afterwards. I had the worst time getting the cover on my CTS-V. It kept sliding all over. Now that I just clayed and polished it finally, it's ready again for the Hybrid Ceramic wax.
Thanks for actual info on product and how it works. There are still customers with good cerebral functions and appreciates information
Our pleasure!
I really appreciate a representative on YT to explain how to use. Bought the product today and I didn’t use it right. I used too much, and rinsing didn’t make sense to me. So next time I use it I’ll do better.
Great information, explained very well thank you 👍👍👍
Who else is watchong this video after over using it lmao
I used the whole bottle 🤣
LMAO ME! :'(.. i used half bottle
I used quarter bottle. I learnt from my mistakes so next time I will do it better.
light haze over half the car, then it was sooo hard to remove after letting it sit a few min. ugh
Most of the people who made youtube videos about this product should have watched this video first!
I wash with their ceramic wash and than use this product and love it!
Some b-roll footage of gorgeous bikini clad ladies demonstrating product use would've so 80's but appropriate in this awesome video! I'm buying some of this ASAP!
Time stamp please
Does this work well on top of the collinite or instead of?
Tom
The product has a tendency to streak. How do you resolve that problem? Strip and repeat?
No, Apply alot of water! Take microfiber sponge and go over your car. Then take a microfiber towel and dry the car down. Mine has lasted over 2 months. Shawn
@@shawnbeck2303 Thanks.
Shawn..ill jus use wax twice a month..takes me a hour each time..i like the fact that with traditional wax..i can see what iam applying..and what iam taking off..and to see the results after..is very satisfying..i feel this product wont do that for me
Does it have to be reapplied in every wash? Like QuickWax
I usually re-apply about 2 1/2 months or when the beads start looking funny. I'm curious to try it with Beadmaker.
@@edruiz6364
Unfortunately I can't make any durability claims using both products together since I haven't tested them in that way. Nonetheless if you like HCW by itself I think you will be very impressed with the results using Beadmaker as a finisher.
Damn, I wish I watched this video before! I washed my car today and I definitely over used it like most others 😂 i hope people see this video before applying!!
Great video guys appreciate the honesty and the carefully explained instructions how to use it. 👍🏼
I've used it twice now once on a faded 89 trans am AND OMG IT LOOKS NEW AND RED FROM A FADED WHITE RED.....AND ONCE ON A 2017 MUSTANG AND ONCE AGAIN OMG THIS STUFF IF YOU GO BY THE RULES IS THE BADDEST TO THE BONE STUFF I EVER USED PERIOD!!!! I'M NEVER GONNA USE ANYTHING ELSE!!!!!
👏👏👏 (🧠💨)
Hi, i have washed the car then after dry i applied the Meguiars ultimate compound and then i applied the meguiars ultimate polish. Now my question is.. Can i applied this ceramic wax spray over this polish as a protection?
If yes then the procedure will remain same as in your video?
Who here has already purchased and used this product, then watching the video after, lol.
If that were the case they would tell you to do it that way. After seeing the video I would do it by the instructions.
I used this on dry paint for the first time. Only 4 sprays over a full van side and its worked very well.
Mark Viereck Merica
I love it. I think it is great for black cars.
Some say this can be used on glass but I have found it streaked terribly. Any suggestions?
i bought this hybrid wax, it's freaking crazy good.
I don't want water beading. My question is Does it provides gloss or not.? I already have Meg ultimate paste wax do I need ceramic wax too.? Will it do any different than ultimate paste wax
It is much much better.
Waande Awam I personally use it as a coat.Stack it on top of meg ultimate as it will help main the wax longer. Plus is I noticed it helped brighten my old wax that was already 2 months old.
I dry with old cotton bath towels that are too frayed for the bathroom. lol They work fine.
I just applied it onto my car, followed each single step you mentioned, I got a mix of descent shine plus a wheels and circles of the product, don’t know, should I wash my car to remove the layer or what should I do?
Easier said than done.
I've had good luck with rinsing the car off a second time after applying the initial layer (which was done while drying.)
my car is outside at work and at home, usually gets washed once a week, how often do you recommend, every time i wash, fortnightly or once a month?
Great video guys! Nice and straight forward I have liked and subscribed!!!
Never been so bored.
You say, wash first and then hcw base layer on it and then the maintenance layer. Is it then not necessary to decontaminate the car after washing, to remove the contamination before applying HCW or is this not really necessary?
Can I use it on plastics and rubber? I assume there's no discoloration when doing this...
Used this product at the weekend for the first time, drove to work this morning in the rain & their isn't as much muck stuck to the car as their usually is,so it def keeps the car clean.
Better then tradional wax?
One may never know 🤷🏼♂️😔
Excellent explanation of the product and how to apply.
just did this and wow...im a total believer.
Instructions on the bottle are totally inadequate !
The instructions on the bottle says the first time to spray the dry car with the product and wipe off. No water necessary. Wrong. It will dry within a few minutes and then you have a problem. Do a panel at at time.
Took 7 minutes just to get to the instructions just get on with it 7:44
I love comments like this.
Hey, can I use it on the windshield to get better waterbeading and better view or will it create a haze? Love the product
I think the directions on the bottle confused me. I rinsed the vehicle, then I sprayed the product on, then rinsed off. Lastly, I dried it. Does that work?
Thanks Meguiars. 1. Use on wet car 2. dont over use the product. Check!
Dry is actually better.
@@luxenterprise7258 Is that what you tell your wife when she says how dry you make her?
Do i need to wax the car first before doing the foundation coating?
On my way to buy some right now! 😀👍
Thank you for the video guys ...
Our pleasure!
Amen on the overuse! But, if you do, you’ll have to use some elbow grease and man does it shine afterward. But yes, so much easier with less. Even with a pressure washer (on moderate pressure) it’s still hard to remove a the film if you use too much. But all in all, a great product. Thx, men.
Does this product protect again UV rays like car wax? Thanks.
I like it but I prefer the dry application which requires a little more work but seems to be more effective.
So, if I have this spray, I don't need the liquid wax?
Does it work on a fresh paint job? I refinish vehicles for a living. I waited one month after my clearcoat finished gasing out.
So this doesn’t necessarily protect my car’s paint... 🤔 it just mainly repels water to be able to clean and dry my vehicle faster correct?
Thanks I’m advance if anyone would know.
Can you put this product on your windows and windshield?
Is it okay to always use this as a wipe on/wipe off product, i.e., not just the first time?
I haven't tried it yet, but, what if it gets on the glass and plastic parts? I know it will mist onto the windshield. Is it a good glass polish? Do I try hard to avoid it? What about the trim, tail lights, etc?
Would it be advisable to spray this product on just before I take suv through the touchless tunnel wash...I live up north where it’s 20degrees
This stuff is legit
Questions:(1) does it transfer to the windshield and cause issues there? (2) how does affect clear coat paints?(3) cars usually get dirty within a week of waxing and need to be washed.....does this last through a few car washings or do you need to reapply each car wash?
Thanks i was driving myself crazy...i sprayed that bitch like 6 times on a 3 x 3 section lol i was like why is it so oily..haha thanks for the clarification
So you need a power wash to use this product ?
Good review .....not tried it yet on my mustang......but am looking forward to it!
I keep a spray bottle full of distilled water and either mist the car or a microfiber and clear up the streaks if I have any
Man, quit whining. Just use as directed on the bottle. Shawn
Question: for a follow up wash would I just spray the car down with water? Btw I love this product!
Is this appropriate to apply to all of the exterior of the car? Meaning the paint and windows... trim?
We use on the windows and it works!
I'd done it wrong. I did the 2nd application first instead of the foundation application. Can I still do the foundation application?
I just bought this stuff today. Just wondering if there's any precautions I should follow for applying it to a car with vinyl stripes. Is it safe to apply it to the whole car or do I need to work around the stripes?
Go nuts! It is safe on, and will protect, every exterior surface of your vehicle. Paint, glass, plastics, etc. Don't forget the wheels! 👍👌✌
Can this product be used on factory alloy wheels to repel brake dust?
Yes it can no problem. Will make them easier to clean in the future.
How will this product affect black plastic trim , glass headlights? Can it be used on factory alloy wheels?
Mix it with water 10:1 and use as a lovely quick detailer!
eWreckd'd i like to mix it with quick detailer
Actually you can do both but yes it is to be a LSP but can be used to top coatings and sealants
The Car I purchased in April this year has a Ceramic coated finish. Apart from washing with Meguairs Gold class wash can I now use Hybrid Ceramic wax as a maintenance polish. ?
Tony.
In addition to water beading, does this protect paint, deepen color, and add shine?
A fair 11 minute video that could have been an excellent 3 minute video.
