- Boxing in is a simple task but you need to approach it correctly. Each project will give you a small puzzle as you work out and build the right framework underneath. This video includes building an access door.
Lovely neat job Mark. 👍
Another nice job Mark.
Thanks Mark, another job well done.
Great video, needed this!
Another neat job Mark, It would’ve been a good idea to fit foam insulation over those pipes before boxing in I feel.
It is internal so it’s not required but you definitely could do that if asked or you would prefer. I’m doing a boxing job tomorrow for a plumber I will ask his professional advice on this. 😃
@@KAPWoodworkandbuilding ok, personally I’ve always done it where possible to get maximum heat to the rads, might only make a tiny difference, but every little helps 😂.
@@idlersdream826 ahh yes I see . Yes your right.
Nice Job !!
Hey Mark... Good vid with attention to detail. After all the years of boxing in for customers I am trying to catch up at home and reusing timbers I have kept from removal / replacement at customer's property. There is something of a feel good in repurposing old skirtings etc that have sat in my storage for years. Bob (Weston super Mare)
I would imagine that you have got quite a stockpile of material over the time. 😃
@@KAPWoodworkandbuilding I was recycling materials long ago and before it became the done thing. Old skirtings and floorboard you can do so much with.. Cheers Bob.
One problem I had, was the hinges where they are screwed into the edge of the MDF door tend to come loose over time. What I found is that because the MDF starts to open and fray where the screw was and it became loose with the door eventually falling off.
Another way of doing the door, would be to buy one of the upvc access panels that you inset into a frame. They come in numerous sizes.
How did you put the door on ? I have built mine and I am not happy with the hinges showing on the outside of the door I can't figure out which way to put them, so it looks like yours does there
In to the end grain not ideal on mdf better with concealed hinges like on kitchen units
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Neat job but maybe had the boxing fill the top of the wall as next time the board is changed there will be no space.
You skipped all of the actual construction pretty pointless really
