My mom had a stroke tonight. She argued with me about calling the ambulance and that lasted about 15 minutes before I decided to finally call. By the time she was in the hospital and given her dose altepase, it had been a couple hours.
Then she had a blood clot retrieval and the doctor said she has a good chance of having minimal permanent damage and timing was very important. I'm 33 and live at home with her and now I don't even feel guilty about it. I hope someone can get to information fast and does not hesitate.
I am looking forward to her recovering the next few days in the hospital and I can't stress enough how important the medical community is. Be sure to be honest with your doctors about how you feel and take your medications. We recently tried to drop Eliquis and I think it may have something to do with this clot

      @xxOldSouL ปีที่แล้ว +10

Update: everything is going well... she was a lucky one that made a full recovery. It's amazing that she was able to regain the functions that were being blocked by the clot, but its all about timing! I hope this post is useful to someone out there, God bless.

Glad you are recovering. My daughter had her first stroke at 15, they never could figure out why. Then on October 13th she just had another. She is now 24. But this time the doctors found that she had a hole in her heart, that is most likely the cause of the strokes. She too is recovering.
I do want to mention that there is an update to the signs of stroke instead of just FAST it’s now BEFAST. B = balance. E = eyesight changes. F = face drooping. A = arm weakness. S = speech difficulty. T = time to 911.
When my daughter had her first stroke, she had the really bad headache and numbness and weakness on her left side. But when she had her recent stroke at 24, she had dizziness, balance issues, speech issues and nausea and vomiting. After being admitted to the hospital this time, she had the headache and eye problems. She had the hole repaired and hopefully won’t have another stroke.

That second one begins to sound like a basal ganglia stroke. Headache in the back of the head or neck is a huge risk factor. As it could be due to high blood pressure.

Dairy is a health food just like meat. The prolem lies in processing. Get raw dairy or cheeses made from war milk or goats cheese etc.
I don't know where this anti dairy agenda comes from. Theres no high quality data out there that suggests consuming high quality organic dairy or meat or any animal product that's organic and raw is bad for your health. In general it's quiet the opposite from that.

@@ceya733 ask your local farmer and make sure it's from cows that eat food that is appropriate for cows and that food is grass and nothing else. Here in europe it's easy to find cheese made from raw milk. One example would be original parmigiano reggiano.

My mom had a series of mini-strokes over several years.
I asked her what a stroke felt like and she said, "I didn't hurt. I felt funny, confused for awhile, then it just went away and I felt like myself again."
Thankfully, my dad realized something was wrong and got her to the dr. immediately when she had the first stroke (and the additional ones).
Her Dr. said that these 3 things will increase the chances of having a stroke:
High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, and Diabetes.
My mom had all 3 of those conditions and was taking medications for them.

Just lost my former teacher to a stroke. Pls pls pls have regular medical check ups and remember to spot the signs. My sister in law had a stroke last year and didn’t realise it was a stroke until I urged her to rush to the A&E right away. She had not thought to go to the doctor at all. We got a message from her for prayers coz she could not type, her arms were too weak and asked her daughter to type and she was slurring a bit. I told her go hospital now now now. Every minute counts. Sighs.

Just to add my experience - I suffered "ministrokes" over a period of a few days. I reported to a major hospital and I was diagnosed with vertigo - apparently mine was not a common sign under the F.A.S.T. acronym. I was sent to a private practise dealing with vertigo and 3 days later I suffered a major stroke leaving me with permanent brain damage in the short term memory region. Beware any symptoms especially if you are in old age - I was 71.

I had a little episode last night that I can’t explain. I have been sick all week and unable to eat. I’ve been drinking lots of water and nothing else. Last night I went to get in the shower and had to lay down because I felt off. All of a sudden my whole body went numb and my fingers were locked up and bright white. I was convulsing and from my jaw to my toes I was numb and shaking. My fiancé brought me an electrolyte beverage and a cup of bone broth and it all of a sudden went away. I have no idea what I experienced but I was sure I was about to die

You probably lacked nutrients/ minerals or vitamins essential for functioning. When we don’t eat, we burn through our muscles also and our heart is also a muscle.
Even if your appetite is poor, it’s good to have something hot and soupy. Also, do consider multivitamins to help supplement your body’s needs if you can’t eat well.

Check for hiding mold in your bathroom, it can cause these symptoms and much worse. Water and bone broth was a good remedy for the time being, but you may need more to detox from it. You need to fix that issue or it will get worse.

When I was a heavy drinker I swear I think I had a minor stroke. I was laying in bed and my boyfriend walked in the room, I naturally sat up but when I did I was so confused. Like didn’t know who was or where I was it was the strangest feeling and hard to explain. I payed back down and forgot about. That has been 10 years but my memory is terrible since. I never suffered many headaches throughout my life except for the odd bad hangover. Then, one day in 2018, I had one massive headache at home. I'd had a haemorrhagic stroke, but I thought I just had a really bad migraine. Had a CT scan the next day and was in an ambulance within an hour.
