Wow. What you have said definitely makes me feel as though I definitely had a stroke 14 yrs. Ago.
Woke up one morning and I could speak but I had to think how to pronounce every word. Complete delayed reaction when I had to speak.
Family Doc. Referred me to a speech therapist....
Now diagnosed with Spasmodic Dystonia...After an exam was done with camera put down to my vocal chords.
I was told that I would never be able to talk again in a normal fashion and recommended Botox in my vocal chords.
Went to a Specialist dealing with Spasmodic dystonia and had shots done down my throat...several.... I truly thougt I might die.... I couldn't breathe.
After that I was supposed to be able to talk.
I still had to think before each word. I still felt mentally slow. Botox did nothing.
My balance was still not working.
In hindsight. I certainly think I had a stroke.
Question??? Not like Doctors are God and have all of the answers but why do you think they did not diagnose a possibility of a stroke as opposed to Dystonia?
Your information is so very important and I thank you.

Thank you for the information you shared. I am sure it will help someone. My husband had a stroke a couple of months ago. Unfortunately, the hospital (took him within an hour) I took him to only did a CAT scan that didn’t show he had a stroke. MRI wasn’t done right away. They give me a couple of reasons machine was down & no technician. Such a horrible experience at the hospital.

That's so young for a stroke. I had one to and I couldn't get up, but after 15 minutes I was able to get up and walk. After I went to the hospital and tried to walk again I couldn't. It took all week to be able to barley be able to walk again. Could it be that the doctors made me worse so they could keep me in the hospital longer, 10 days so they could make more money?

If it's so important the get to the hospital fast exactly what do the doctors do for you? They did nothing for me but billed my $20,000 for just sleeping 20 hours a day in the hospital.
