You MISS the point. Boats are EXPENSIVE. Since we moved on from the Fort Charles we have used BIGGER boats but the Coast Guard has a complement. There MAY NOT be enough manpower to man bigger boats and there simply may NOT be the funds for it. We usually BORROW to finance these purchases. We have plenty of things we are NOT spending enough on. Whenever the manpower and/or funds are there, it will happen.

Forth Charles was an old obsolete vessel,don’t forget that three county class vessels was purchased and then gotten rid of for whatever reason that should never have been done,another Caribbean island is now in possession of these boats. With regards to manpower,I believe the Jamaica defense force is constantly being expanded using national service Corp some of these personnel should be diverted to the coast guard getting it ready for a larger fleet, and buy your boat one at a time. There a days when all the current fleet is tied up at the jetty’s our maritime border needs be patrolled full time. National security is no joke,unless you think the level of blood letting is ok. Guns flowing into the country. A fully capable coast guard is just as important as building new and fixing existing roads giving the people of Jamaica proper water supply. The point is our politicians have figured out how to make themselves rich but when it comes down to fixing things they don’t have the money. Now notice that I said politicians I don’t want you to believe that I’m advocating for any party
Why is it that the Jamaica coast guard doesn’t fly the flag high like all other countries. What’s up with this little flag at the front of the boat. What type of boats are we getting from Japan, the coast guard needs to be expanded
