I've driven all over Jamaica, and I think this is the most beautiful scenic drive of all! Starting near Irish Town, I take the B1 all the way to Buff Bay and then on to @FreelanceJamaicas place. We get some amazing local blue mountain coffee at Middleton Cafe, pass a strange road across an army base, see the Holywell park area, visit Cream World (closed unfortunately), and on to Portland Parish. Driving across an army parade ground was bizarre to watch. I loved the scenery along the drive. Blue Mountain coffee is very special 👍

Wow, the views are so spectacular! That's my only problem with traveling to Portland. I pray the roads get fixed. My cousin blew out his tire taking us from Norman Manley Airport to there. It was an adventure;)
I blow a tire pretty much every trip! This trip on day 1 I got my side mirror smashed of by a taxi passing a truck 😆

The part out of Kingston is the tougher part, after that not as bad and not much traffic!
Years ago I dropped acid and spent a day hiking on an army trail in the Blue Mountains, it started raining which caused large trees to slide down the sides of the valley. It was wild.

Thanks for the memory! Truly a 21-century trip since the last time I was there in the 70s. Then it was dirt roads and steep hills where the rental car could not make it without a few helpful Jamacians pushing it. At the top, you had a guest house with a share kitchen. Even back then the Chinese owned most of the coffee fields. I would always come back home with a backpack of coffee and it would pay for part of my trip.

5 minutes in & am laughing out loud watching you drive through the military base up in Newcastle. I was feeling a little nervous that one of them would stop you. But everyone just continued with their drills and standing at attention as you narrate: " They're ignoring me. No one cares. This would never happen in the US." And you're right 😆

We were CLEAR by BRADLEY AIRFORE BASE and denied entry in the USA eventhough three weeks earlier we were in LAS VEGAS staying at the MGM grand go figure???? Only in scary AMERICA..
