I've watched a lot of Quest 3 videos and this is probably my favorite! I love that y'all included the excitement of trying it out for the first time! That's the best part of any time I've ever shown someone of your headset is there first reactions

I upgraded from a quest 2 and love my new quest 3. The mixed reality was definitely really cool and I felt even the quest 2 games looked alot better than they did on the quest 2. I just can't wait to see what developers make and take advantage of the new processor and mixed reality

Yes everyone who already loves VR and any new people that are very late to the VR party should 100% buy the Quest 3, without any hesitation. Take it from me a VR veteran who has been a VR enthusiast since 2016 and has had every Oculus/FB headset since the Rift CV1, including the Oculus Go, Quest 1, Quest 2, the Rift S, the awful garbage that was the PSVR 1, the awesome HTC Vive, and the Samsung Gear VR. This is without doubt the best VR headset I ever owned or used. All Quest users should really upgrade as it is a far bigger upgrade than I was expecting even with the released specs and early first impressions. I have barely left the headset since I got it on Thursday, and I am loving every minute of it. The passthrough mode is worth the price of the upgrade if nothing else. The MX reality is as much of a game changer as when Oculus first added touch controllers to the Rift 1, along with full room scale experiences. If this is Meta dipping their toes into the MX pool, we have a very bright and exciting future in gaming and all kinds of original experiences!
I used the Quest 2 and absolutely loved it.... can't wait to try this !!! The Mixed Reality stuff looks really cool !

Love this headset so far. Once more games get a quest 3 update (for improved visuals and performance) I'd recommend anyone to buy this.
Its funny as shit that it shows the quest 2 controllers in everything still. Feels like they rushed out the hardware ans didn't do a lot on the software side yet
My VR life has been GearVR 1 when the S7 Edge came out, GearVR 2 when I got my Note 8, Rift CV1 in 2018, CV1 warrantied the HMD, then a friend gave me their old CV1 which I started using at the beginning of this year.
It's obvious how that jump was. I cannot go back.

If I had the $500 to spend on it, I would. But 95% of what I do is connecting do PCVR via airlink/virtual desktop. That makes me wonder if it would be worth it? Or should I just hold out? 🤔
I think it would still be worth it, 100%, as the faster processing and better tracking sensors will only add to better overall tracking and performance for PC VR, not to mention the improvements in the displays as well. I use my quest 2 pretty much exclusively with steam and I still think the $300 was a steal for a PC VR Headset
100% a good buy. I swapped from a Quest 2 and the difference is immediatel. Would recommend the 512gb model.
Why
The 512gb model has 4 times the storage as the 128gbversion and games are getting bigger. Medal of Honor alone is 41gb and that's about a third of the storage right there for the 128gb model. The 512gb model is also good if you are running a TH-cam channel. It does feel like they will discontinue the 128gb model for a 256gb model.@@3edr
I got one, and I have some fairly minor gripes with it. some that people dont seem to show. Like the Mic quality.. It just sounds like its being overly processed, and robotic. The headstrap is honestly terrible, but obviously everyone will remedy that with the better headstraps and such.
I had some problems myself with a loud fan, bad fogg and glare.....unfortunately I'm taking it back, I might buy one in a year or so or just buy something else....I went on Google and I've seen plenty of people having issues as well
Productivity in the work place would be an ideal place for this

I got the quest 1 just before the quest 2 was announced so have been waiting for a good while for this one to come out. Just waiting for a bit after launch incase there are any problems with the launch batch.
The Quest 3 is fantastic! I've been practically living in it since launch day lol
Once I have money, I'm going to buy it. Last headset I used was an Oculus Rift S, and the screendoor effect was massive. Wonder if this'll blow my mind.

It’s an improvement over the Quest 2 but about 20-30% with the screen door effect. Compared to the Rift S the resolution is much better. I think more than anything the Mixed reality will blow you away more so than the VR. Especially if you’re used to it.
My last headset was the rift s also. Thinking of getting this one and I’m also curious about the SDE improvements over the rift s on the quest 3

I'm a long time PC gamer, since 2001. I'm thinking about making the Quest 3 my first VR. It overcomes the original things I didn't like about VR which were lower res displays, slower refresh rates, and having to be tethered with a wire for PCVR.

As someone who came from The Quest 1, I can tell you it is. Only downside is the displays not being OLED.

I bought it already and got blown away! the only negative thing is that all my kids want to play with it so I have little time with it! that and I wish there is a way to play with it more than 2 hours at a time!
You can if you buy a strap with a battery for it but it does cost a lot
So basically the evolution went from the quest 2 being like a phone to the quest 3 now being like a high end console
Quest 3 passthrough is pretty grainy and low quality in regular light
I did buy one. It never left the sorting facility and got "lost". Apparently this is my problem. About to do a charge back and wash my hands of it.

Dont buy it. Lenses fog up super fast. Thats with or without glasses. If any reviewer says otherwise they are being paid. Avoid the quest 3. Youve been warned!
Omg I would definitely upgraded so worth it making the ability to see my room and play a game in mixed reality I hope nore games use this I think it better than vr first encounter,coaster mania,and bam wow.

I'm surprised you didn't touch on the grainy view in mixed reality. It looks great on playback and streamed video but through the lenses, it's very grainy no matter how the lighting is. I hope that can be updated later.
I did when I was in my dark studio, but it's all relative to the price/hardware/what the product is intended for imo.
Again, I think mixed reality only one of the selling points for the Quest 3, though it's what's getting people excited the most rn. It skews the perception on the product a bit since people are using it to play piano games and watch TH-cam while doing dishes (which those cameras are, yes, warped and grainy to replace your eyes), when I think the intent was to interact with "Virtual-first" environments that incorporate your real room for that dose of immersion. The graininess is less apparent when your focal points are on generated graphics (UI, 3D elements, etc) and the background are in your peripheral vision - not when the BG is your primary focal point (if that makes sense).
Meta made Q3 good enough to do what Apple's trying to sell with the Vision Pro, but at a fraction of the price. And I think that's what myself (and a lot of people out there) are wanting to get out there.
@DNKI I must have missed that. I agree that the virtual environment is sharp and really fun to interact with. I do think that in a future update Meta can improve the graininess through the lens. If it's able to project to a screen without the graininess, I wouldn't think that it's beyond their capability to make the in lens video less grainy.
Regardless, I love it and I'm glad to see your reaction was very similar to mine and my friends reaction to the mixed reality.
when it comes to the resolution I think it still is not enough, I want to be able to work with the headset but text in the editor is still not sharp enough for longer work sessions.
650 is a lot of money, if it came with the elite strap included....it would be a maybe for me.

Id describe the quest 3 as a quest2+
It certainly has more power, it definitely has better controllers and hand tracking, its got AMAZING passthrough with almost perfect depth.
The 2d screen here really doesn't show you just how amazing the passthrough is.
I have noticed that when i play an MR i sometimes have to set up a new boundary afterwards but its only happened twice in my 18 or so hours
Its battery sucks, so so bad, it lasts maybe an hour and a half.
The lenses have not fogged up at all, on the quest 2 i had fogging issues.
Basically, get a quest 2, if you love VR and already experienced tge quest 2 get a quest 3 AFTER CHRISTMAS.
there are real problems people are having right now with dead pixels and dying tracking. It seems like 1 in 10 headsets come out the box completely fucked man. I was lucky, i didn't know this was happening until i already ordered it.
Just wait a little longer and then get it if you are sure you want it.

the basic VR experience has changed very very little from what it was when the first oculus rift came out. If you are waitng for "next-gen VR" this isnt it and you will probably be waiting another decade

Do you have any issues with your quest not charging unless its turned off? I'm debating on returning mine and trying to buy another one. I bought a headstrap with a battery and it won't charge it half the time.

Have to wonder what the dif is between this and the $1K pro. Wonder if there will be a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale. I hope upgraded head straps are available by then. I'm very spoiled by the one I have on my Meta 2.
The only real differences are a few tradeoffs. Quest 3 gets better processing, better pass through, and a depth sensor. Quest pro gets heavier but, self tracking controllers, and eye/face tracking. Also the quest pro is no longer being manufactured so it's an end of life headset, though the controllers from it are still an upgrade if you pair them with the quest 2 or 3.
If you have the BoboVR battery strap, they are selling an adapter kid for it to change it's arms so it can go on the quest 3, so you don't have to buy a whole new one for the quest 3 if you already have one for the quest 2. I just use the elite strap myself, because I was able to just pick it up at the store when I got my headsets, and I didn't want to wait for shipping for anything else with how terribad the included cloth strap was with the quest 2. I just did the same for the 3.
With this all coming out right before black friday I doubt they will be put on any significant sale, though I can see them bundling an accessory like the elite strap or carrying case for a 'sale' I DO see the quest 2 going on a big sale for black friday though. Most store's around me still have a ton of quest 2's and have already put some of the quest 2 accessories on clearance. I'm keeping an eye on a few oth them myself at my local walmart in case they drop them even lower lol.

Quest 2 is excellent and easily the best $300 device wise with packed features that nothing come close. I'm super picky in techs and hopefully that'll explain to you more than random review on Amazon. I could be the person who hate Meta but got to admit their Quest line products are top

@@brucerosenfeld even with a nose hole its a bit hard to breath (on quest 2) due to the devices weight if you use it for 2 hrs you wil eventually start using your mouth to breath(atleast that was the case for me)
