Those bezels are huge, make it look outdated right out of the box. Bummer. Good review though.
did CARPURIDE sent out 100's of free units, as all the reviews are the same on youtube, did not see anyone testing out google maps *via voice) , WhatsAPP calls, and text, or vice calls... as you drive.... like this is what people would do. (like make calls when you drive)...

how does it sound in the car, as I have Kayhan brand, I have to turn up the sound to the max in the car to hear music or google voice in Bluetooth or Aux, also found Google Voice is so quiet. I have tried everything. So I was wondering if this is the same or if the unit I have is crap. I have the volume up in the car sitting at 15 to my comfort, then plug in the Kayhan Carplay, I have to turn up the volume like max to hear. So I am concerned about buying this and having the same problem again. Thanks

By default, Android Auto limits the amount of scrolling you can do while driving, it truncates all lists such as Music playlists. Some AA dongles disable this allowing full control.
Do you know if the W103 also disables AA's forced limits?

When I tested it with my Samsung A71 phone, the call would be going to the Carpuride device and not my car's BT.
I must have missed it, but does the device use the dataplan from your phone or does it need a seperate sim card?
It uses the phone for its internet data connection via phone projection (CarPlay and android auto)
thanks for this. any suggestions on how to get sound for waze? i have the navigation speaker on in waze through carpuride but nothing is said like when you use the app direct from phone. cheers
i’m having the same issue!!!
I have this same unit. During phone calls the person on the other end can hear their own voice feeding back through the mic. Are you experiencing this? I've worked with Carpuride, they have sent me several firmware updates and even a replacement unit to no avail.
When you use Waze is there a delay
@@boblib3462 Nope. Waze works fine even better than Google Maps. For some reason Google doesn't know when it's night and won't darken unless manually told to. Waze on the other hand worked fine. So, I primarily used that.

I like the W103 because of the widescreen as it fits better for most vehicles. If you have a bigger vehicle, then the bigger screen W901 might work well.
@@dial2fast do you know what does this note mean? "Note: A-Auto and MirrorLink cannot be full screen". It's present on their website but only for "wide" models but not the normal square ones. I don't see any issues in youtube videos, is it even an issue or what?
@@pazdikan I believe they are referring to the A-Auto 'home' screen which is not displayed in full screen. There is a clock on the left side. But if you open the app (ex: Waze), fullscreen is supported.

So wait - can i connect a USB from this device to my current stereo USB which is Carplay and then connect my iPhone to this device wireless Carplay and it work? I would want this audio to run through my current stereo.
That will not work for this device.
You can use an AUX cable for the audio if your car supports an AUX.
Get a device like a Carlinkit.

Can you turn the clock off? I have an analog clock in my car I don't need 2. - I've been looking but I haven't found it yet, granted I just got it.

@@dial2fast That sucks, I have a clock in the car I don't need half a screen ate up with a redundant clock, not one but 2 on the same screen. Total waste of screen space.
Can you hardwire this or you have diy?
If you want to hardwire this, you can use a cigarette lighter female power socket and tap it into your fuse box for ignition power. The power socket look like this amzn.to/3MZjTG3

Yes it has auto brightness adjust or you can set it manually.
