Thank you I think this was one of the most honest reviews I’ve seen. Thank you
This is something i've been looking for the longest, nice find! The aux ground adapter is a Godsend as well, thanks for the review mate
You're welcome. Yeah the ground adapter made all the difference.
Well at first glance looks nice. Looking forward to watch the rest of the video.
Great video. Product isn't for me personally but still benefitted from your video as didn't know the ground loops existed!!!!!
I connect my music from a Bluetooth dongle plugged into the cars 3.5mm aux jack and pulse's at high volume.
Always been annoying so just bought the ground loop.
Thanks again.
Hi Luke, great video, this Temu carplay screen looks smart,it connects to your phone and play music is ideal.good price for it though.
Looks great for the price. I also use Evermusic but get frustrated the track order is always out on CarPlay. Also reminds me of a device I used to use on my VAG cars, a Phatnoise Phatbox - it contained a hard drive and let you play music via the CD changer port.
Welcome back Luke and enjoy your honest comments on this product..
Good to see you back on the screen
Thanks for telling me about the aux noise cancelling I didn't know these products existed ordered one now!!
You're welcome, they really help. They're only about £10.
Good honest review really helpful.👏🏾
Nice review 👍 I’ve been considering one of these for a while now. The only thing thats making me hesitate is that i’m a bit OCD about cables dangling down my dashboard to the AUX and power outlets 😬
Just use a tablet. You can do the same things and you can charge it and not have any cables anywhere . I have been using one in my car for almost 10 years. They so the exact same thing all you have to do is load the apps. I use a $30 tablet and it works great!
Could listen to this fella all day , great video btw
Thanks for the info on the ground loop thingy, I was about to send my unit back.
I put one of those in my 05 XC90 just before it was vandalized. It's not perfect but it was sure a nice upgrade!
For the ground loup with that filter you could potentially change the audio quality with it. Have a couple of different ones here which freq curve is not flat at all. Potentially you could use a dc/dc isolated convertor. They have them in all kind of flavours. (in/out voltage and max current)
Same happens with cheap bluetooth audio modules connected to a power supply vs a battery. You will hear all kind of beeps and other stuff on a power supply which these isolated dc/dc convertors are a fantastic solution for. I made an internet radio with a ESP32 and a DA converter that is powered by a radio with a USB stick 'input' and an aux-in. Without the isolated dc/dc I would hear stuff when the volume was set to normal playing volume. Now at maximum volume it is dead silent between the pauzes.
On another store known I bought a wifi android auto box for like 18 euro shipped. My VW only has hard wired Android Auto. For that price it is absolutely crazy that it works perfect. Boots up in a couple of seconds and has been rock stable.
Glad to see you are doing ok!
Thanks for your suggestions. Yes, I agree that it's probably better isolating the power supply instead of trying to mask the noise. However, I'm not sure how good the DAC is in this unit (probably not very) anyway. I'm probably best sticking to CD if I want the best quality from my car. But, if someone has a high end system, I think it's certainly worth going with your suggestion.
I’ve just subscribed! Really good presentation 💪
Thank you Kevin :)
Mate, thanks for your brilliant review. Could you please advise have you tried to play video from TH-cam through carplay? Does it play videos properly?
Fabul to have you back. Thank you
Is it that much more difficult to add the letters "ous"????????
@@childofthe60s100 are those question marks really necessary?
awesome review dude thanks !
Great video! Liked and subbed 😊 I drive a Fiesta, and the way they designed/placed the 12v and USB ports really annoy me😅 I have a dashcam, but the darn cord annoys me, dangling all over😂 Also the way the dashboard curves.. ugh.. I considered buying a used tablet as my screen, but havent done so yet😆
Welcome back.... Missed you
Hi, very important question! What is the black cable (vga alike) in the glove box for? I also got it in my V70 but I could not figure out.
I'm considering one of these for my 2010 Smart car CDI as its just a little run around. Seems to fit the job for what I need it to do.
How is the mic quality for phone calls?
Hi Luke. Can I connect this to my samsung ohone so thst i can use it to make and recieve call (including a microph3 thst will pickup my voice? Cheers
I installed it, navigation is cool (use Sygic), but I have trouble with sound - I want to BT connect it with car stereo, put same radio frequency on car radio with carplay, and in start it connects, but during ride (perhaps from signal variation through city) it disconnects, then I hear, for example Spotify from carplay, and really loud radio from car stereo, pretty annoying. Can I do something about it (reinstall drivers or something) or I must connect carplay with wires? Does my BT connection between phone and car stereo interrupt something with new connection with carplay?
Thanks
Hi . Does iPhone connect automatically to the CarPlay and how long does take to connect please? Also can I connect that screen and play on Bluetooth speaker
Nice vid but i have a question, my car radio is Bluetooth and if i want to hear music from the radio and in the same time i want to use maps via the screen i must use Bluetooth for the screen;(if u don't understand what im saying i want to know if the screen has a maps app without connecting with the phone)
Isn't yours also an 07? I belive the v70 did get an aux port for MY07. It's in the centre console, on the back wall of the deep compartment under the armrest. Atleast that's where it is on my 2007 v70
Thank you for the review, I've been thinking about getting that. Our VW van's multimedia is malfunctioning and unfortunately no more warranty. VW said it will cost AU$3900 to replace and the carplay screen is a very good option. Cheers
how old is your van? The VW RCD330 and its variants are fairly cheap and OEM, just do a bit of research as there are some not so good clones out there. I put one in my 2010 Seat Leon a few years back and it's been great.
Apparently these units don't last too long in the Aussie heat - think of the heat in the vehicle in the summer. In my VW van in summer, if I leave my phone on the dash it overheats and shuts down, this won't be any different!
you totally ignored the most important part. Getting sound out of the unit. You didnt have any demonstration show us the sound quality and adjustments.
Mine doesn’t connect straight away Bluetooth does but my mobile data WiFi seems to be temperamental do you need the mobile data to connect to the car wifi?
Bought something similar 6 years ago on Aliexpress still running great. Keep in mind that your country (depending were you live) can charge import costs when they catch it at customs. For me it was an extra 80 euro (the Netherlands) but it was def. still worth it.
Acabei de me inscrever! Apresentação realmente boa💪
so I have a double din hard wired into dash and I am getting that RPM noise. What is the filter I need?
How do you install that Yatour music receiver?
Great install. I would just make the power supply neater.
Can you give me the name of the aux static thing? I cant find the link?
Does it have dual Bluetooth connection for phone and car stereo
Good review thanks subbed.
Can you bluetooth this device to sound system for music and calls?
How do I get apple maps fullscreen instead of split screen with the dash cam?
Bro even got free supercharger sound with it
Is it one advertised with 10.3 or 10.26 inch screen? I assume they're mostly all the same.
Can you add a 4g sim card to this device? Also, can you share internet from mobile phone via hotspot on this device?
how much ram does it have and how big hd
Excellent video, but as in almost all of those videos, not a word about making phone calls. 😄
If my stereo doesn’t work will this fix it ?
How does they charge? Mine is not charging
Can u do a bit more info on stuff like
How does it work with apple maps / google maps and Spotify at the same time?
Can it connect to my phone then onto my car radio via Bluetooth aswell?
I have problems with this device not reconnecting any chance you know the factory reset code?
support dash cam?
Good video, I’m hearing impaired and I’m looking for something similar where I could set a screen on my dashboard and read incoming messages from my passenger while driving. This would make it easier for me to read what’s being said while still keeping my eyes on the road, do you know of any such device?
This would allow that as messages can come through on the screen.
How’s the scoda getting on? You left us hanging by ending video saying it’s stuck?
I forgot about that car, sorry. Yeah I'm bad at not finishing videos. I sold it after that due to health issues and wanted to get rid of extra stuff. I never investigated the problem any further.
Great video
Your previous experiences with (solar) heat.....?
Can you fit this in an old car or does it have to be a modern car with built in CarPlay? Thanks for the help.
This is for older cars without CarPlay.
@@TorqueSteer thanks so much, I really appreciate the help as my car is quite old now. Thanks so much. Really enjoyed the video as well, made a great watch and very helpful.
Love learning new things.. ground loop inhibited… thank youuu
it actually sounds cool
what if my radio dony work if i get a carplay screen will my music start to play
I think the touch sensitivity can be adjusted
Do you know the factory settings code
I know temu has some great deals but they straight up sell your data in exchange, great video tho
You can also eliminate the interference with one of those round cylindrical magnets that you see attached near the end of DC power cables.
Thanks for the tip :)
I am looking for a car play with a dash cam. Any suggestions.
I've not tried any specifically, but there are similar units to this one with a camera on the back. I imagine the screen should perform similar, but I can't comment on the quality of the camera. You may also find the dash might block the camera, depending on you car's design.
great review! I have a Swedish cousin (SAAB 9-5) and been looking for a solution for Android Auto. This looks great! Does it support steer wheel controls?
No. You can get BT buttons to put on your steering wheel. Those work with most of this type of screens.
How can you install it that can be low enough to don't block your vision on lower part of windshield? My focus mk3 has middle section of dashboard that goes upright :/
Yeah the mk3 focus has a higher dashboard. It’s okay on my V70 as it is lower than the bottom of the windscreen.
May I suggest a 7 inch screen that is mounted to a tablet CD holder. This goes into you CD drive and can hold a screen. If I recall, the mk3 focus has a CD drive right below the top of the dash with air vents either side. I think it would work well on that.
@@TorqueSteer yeah, thanks for advice. I'll look for that option
The lag you mentioned is from using Apple Carplay. The screen is an Android device, so if you were using an Android phone, the lag would be gone completely.
I have the exact same unit wired using the 3.5 with NO interference…it could be where you have routed the 3.5 cable…it could be near other wiring that causes the interference.
I think you could be right. Do you have a V70 or a different car ? My 3.5mm input box is aftermarket too, so maybe manufacturers inputs would have better protection against interference.
@@TorqueSteer I did also you a monster brand 3.5 cable so perhaps cable quality? Regardless an awesome value/functionality.
It would have been a lot easier to run the cables through the speaker hole in the dash, just lift up the cover and take out the speaker/speaker adapter and you would be able to get to the glovebox without much of an issue.
Yes, I think it would have been easier, that air vent doesn't pop out easily.
Hopefully different to the one's that catch fire from Wish, a lot of pride and joys up in smoke
I can't comment on that (hopefully I never will). There isn't any battery in this though, so that is something that at least should make it safer.
BUYER BEWARE! These will not work with newer Samsung devices,This information comes directly from the sellers. I have asked numerous sellers and inquired about numerous models.
I need me something for apple and samsung
4:50 I have the same problem recently when using a 12v port charger with voltimeter and thermometer on my car (with a normal sony radio).
Before it was just that while charging my phone it would get worse radio signal, but lately I've had the same sound while revving the engine.
Any suggestions?
We have bad radio reception where I live, so it is kind of annoying to not be able to hear the radio while charging the phone. 😅
I'm not 100% sure if this will work, but 2 things I would try.
1. Try installing a capacitor inline with your 12v port. I would imagine it would give a more stable power supply and reduce noise.
2. Try altering where your negative wire connects to on your power socket. Grounding the wire somewhere else on the car may reduce noise.
Thank you. I will try changing the negative wire location first and if it doesn't work I might try the capacitor.
I have the same problem on my A4 B7 aswell, when I'm charging the phone I can barely hear any music, so I hope I find a solution. 😅
Hey I realize this video is from a while back but I have searched for a answer and nothing has worked. I have a Temu CarPlay dash mounted device, I can hear the caller on a incoming call but they can’t hear me , also when I ask Siri to send a text message she asked what do I want to say, when I give my message she doesn’t respond and no message is sent. I don’t think it’s the internal speaker on device because she acknowledges when I say hey siri. I don’t know what else to check on device as I’ve already checked volume and don’t know what settings on my phone could cause this if any. Hoping that you could offer suggestions. I would sure be grateful! My brain hurts from trying to figure this out 😅
That’s strange. My one seems to respond to voice. What happens if you change your audio output (maybe to FM). Is yours the exact same as mine or are you using a Bluetooth connection to output audio to the car? Just wondering if it’s trying to send audio to your car’s built in mic?
I have the CarPlay device connected to the aux on my existing stereo. I can hear the caller through my car speakers as well as music and if I use the maps. I got the messaging part worked out finally. This one thing still persists though. I can call on Siri to make a phone call and she does ( she’ll say calling Ben , for instance) then I can hear the caller just fine on speakers but they can’t hear me at all. I’m connected to Bluetooth during all this, both device and my phone. Now , my car stereo is a aftermarket, no screen, just cd… radio and iPod capable. Everything else works great on the Temu device except the calling problem. I don’t believe it’s the exact same device as yours though. I don’t know if it’s a setting on my phone causing it, I just can’t figure it out 😢
Can i utilize without cable?! I don't like cables
For audio, yes. You'll need power though. There's a video on the Apple Carplay playlist on my channel that has a was of sending the audio to your car's bluetooth whilst still using CarPlay.
Just use an iPad ?
hi there mate, cool video. Did anyone here using it had issues with resetting to factory, losing the settings? every now and then gets back to like very weird looking screen (high brightness and contrast). cheers
Is that the same volvo as a few years ago ?
Yeah, it is :)
When are you going to raffle it for the Viewers it's lovely
Does it use the zlink app?
No, I’ve never used it.
You need a in line noise suppression
does it have netflix TH-cam functionality
No, just the standard car play. But I believe you can mirror your phone's screen with a cable, so you might be able to view it that way (but the touch won't work). I've not tried it, so I can't comment. Sorry.
Hi TS 👋 can you please link me up for those products please (if you do have any affiliate links, that’s cool)
I’ve just got a new car and rather than remove the dash to replace the existing screen I’ll just install this set up
where is backup camera ?
Can you use Bluetooth earbuds with it like being on a motorcycle?
Yes, keep an eye out for the video I'm releasing this Monday. It will show you how to do that :)
So what is the paid promotion tab for?
Haha sorry, I didn't realise I had clicked that. It was a mistake. It's not a paid promotion.
The link in the description made my tablet restart and now its messing around
This is pointless on that Volvo if you already have the yatour module in it, just use your phone has a screen connect it with Bluetooth, it's more responsive, fast and not limited in any way like the apple or android car play. No wires also (unless you need to charge your phone on a long trip). I've used this on mine and it's perfect.
how do i turn off the audio for rhis because its not letting my car play
Sorry, I don't quite understand. Could you explain a bit more?
Does this support apps like TH-cam music?
I have a different brand but it does have TH-cam Music
whats the advantage of it over a smartphone?
Bigger screen honestly
Hi mate, can you put the link in for your ground loop fix please? I bought one and it only played audio from left speakers
Has anyone tried the motorcycle ones?
The branded products are about 250€. The unbranded are about 70€ after adding shipping costs. I just don't know if they are sturdy enough to survive on motorcycle
Good question. If I had a bike, I’d try some reviews. Maybe I can come up with a simulation ?
@@TorqueSteer the main problem on the bike is weather and vibration resistance. Maybe mount it on the outside of the car and drive over some very bad roads in the rain 🤣🤣
I don't hear an issue. Wired means supercharged... 😂
The noise you hear is because it doesn’t have a real CE. It has zero certification only the printed text CE.
Way cheaper on the other big Chinese site, i.e. less than thirty quid (every time I name the site my comment is deleted 😡) Anyway thanks for the great recommendation, just installed one in my 2006 Saab 9-3 and I'm well pleased with it
41i 3xpr355
Wow bargain! I don't know why you're not allowed to name it. They really vary on price these screens. I'm glad you're pleased with it though.
Have i gone back in time?
Link dont work
Personally, I don't like these because for most cars they don't look OEM or natural in the car. Although they provide functional car play I would pay extra just to have an Android screen with wireless Carplay put into my car
