There's only one camera to get for this model (the w903 has a front camera built in too: amzn.to/4c3VBVu, affiliate link), but yes I reckon the reversing camera is well worth it.
I don't know what you mean by compressor, but I actually prefer the w903's screen resolution (I'm making a video on it at the moment, should be out on Sunday)
Hey, quick question: When connecting the Carpuride to the car's bluetooh can you use track skipping/seek functions on the steering wheel for example? What about aux? Does that let you control which track via the steering wheel so you dont have to look away to the screen all the time? Thanks
Since I don’t see this guy answering any questions on the comment section, but did mention I believe that it didn’t have steering control function via aux cable, there is a workaround due to the multiple bt functionality. You can buy a bt controller that clips to your steering wheel which had all the necessary buttons to skip tracks, turn the volume up/down and some even have voice or home button control functions as well. I don’t own this device but almost certain this will work.
@@davemontano3790 Hey, thanks for your reply. I found my answer online later. The Carpuride does *not* support steering wheel controls. However, an almost identical device, the Carpodgo T3 Pro *does* support steering wheel controls. I have one now, and love it!
This would be a good addition to a 2011-13 leaf which cant upgrade the maps but you cant take the headunit out without losing remote heating/charging functionality. Thanks for sharing.
Does Android auto start automatically when you turn on the car/power, or do you still have to select the Android auto icon on the unit each time you want to start android auto?
Can you tell me if this device is connected instead of aux via Bluetooth, will CarPlay work at this point? So this device supports two simultaneous CarPlay and Bluetooth connections for sound output?
I've got a disclosure at 11:59 and the video is tagged as including 'paid promotion'. Also, Carpuride didn't sponsor the video i.e. pay me to make it - they just provided the device for me to review. 🙂
Hi, so how does it work if you have multiple users, say one has Android and the other has an iPhone? Can multiple phones be programmed and how does it know which one to connect during startup?
Hi, I don't know about Android vs iPhone (as I don't have an iPhone to test it with) but if you have two phones set up then it seems to just pick up whichever bluetooth signal it gets to first. It appears you'd have to turn bluetooth off on that phone before starting the device, so it connects to the one you want.
Thanks for the great review. Is there a way where I can still use my vehicle’s mic for phone calls after installing the display and connecting it to CarPlay? My phone connects to my car via Bluetooth and the mic quality is super crisp. I don’t want to lose that.
It will play TH-cam music but not TH-cam TV/videos from an app. You could mirror TH-cam to it if you have an iPhone, but I guess they don't want people watching videos while they drive so don't make it easy
TH-cam doesn't play...however Carpuride have just released the W901 Plus which does! Check it out here: carpuride.com/collections/carpuride%E2%84%A2-new-arrivals/products/carpuride-w901-plus-portable-wireless-car-stereo-support-install-apps?ref=asn2n52s (affiliate link)
I've been asking Carpuride this exact question and they say it won't with the PRO model if you use BT connection - only AUX....will on the new PLUS model...can you review that one please for this functionality? @@BrunoTyge
@LensOfJames it's built into phones now for when you connect to a stereo that supports android auto think it's today with laws regarding using your device when driving
Hello. With dual bluetooth how many phones does it support? That is to say, if I get into the car, my iPhone connects automatically, but if it is another person who gets in my place, does it automatically recognize them as well, as happens in my other car? thank you.
Hi, I've just tested it with two Android phones and it doesn't appear to work that way. It seems to just pick up whichever bluetooth signal it gets to first and you can't change the phone it's connect to from the display.
That's definitely a route you could go down, but if you're not sure about wiring or comfortable removing parts of the dashboard then this could be worth considering
Hello. Are you able to pick a song on your phone from TH-cam, just normal youtube vids, not youtube music or anything, and have the sound of the song come through car speakers? Or does the devise think your watching youtube and not work?
Hi, yes if you play TH-cam on your phone whilst connected to the Carpuride device, then because you're connected to the car via bluetooth any sound will come through your car speakers. Tested it this morning :)
@@LensOfJames Thank you for testing! I don’t have any music apps so that’s how I listed to music usually. I like this unit. I noticed that portable devises like this one are very thin which is great, but I also see the built in aftermarket units look like boxes. Why on earth are they so big when they can be made like the Carpuride one here in your review? What’s all the extra stuff all about in the box behind the screen? Very strange.

only a question: how diference are respect a normal actual Smartphone 7 or 8" ?? i think that is unless...
If you are listening to fm radio on van and someone calls does it switch to bluetooth call using device automatically?
If I were to include the cameras, would I use them much? or is that more of a gimmick?
There's only one camera to get for this model (the w903 has a front camera built in too: amzn.to/4c3VBVu, affiliate link), but yes I reckon the reversing camera is well worth it.
@@LensOfJames nice, but the w103 had a better compressor and screen resolution right?

@@LensOfJames sorry i mean processor my bad, ah okay i’m looking forward to that video! :)
will phone calls play through the devices speakers, or through the cars speakers?
Through the car speakers if you're connected to the vehicle. Whilst the device has a built-in speaker, you can turn it off, which I have.
thank you. the one I currently have, does not play through the car speakers, and you cannot turn the built in speaker off. @@LensOfJames
Why is it 'unreliable' way of playing music, if AUX cable is used? It gives really high quality instant sound
I think I said AUX is "an instant and reliable way of playing music"
Very good review, seen a few but yours is clear and addressed some questions I had and others didn't covered, thanks + like!

The best review of this model ever!
Can you have it setup such that it powers on automatically when you start your car? - I don't want to have to turn it on each time. Thanks
Only £208 from ebay
So basically it doesnt play video even if you're parked?
with the bluetooth connection to the car, will works the steering wheels controls?
The controls don't work on my van (Nissan NV200) but may do on other devices. Worth reaching out to Carpuride to find out 🙂
I get so many recommandation about this one that it's like youtube is trying to push me to buy it ^^

The pro version allows for blueetooth input and output simultaneously
Appreciate what you did , those who critize actually a hater , doesn't like other people to succeed and use law to put people down
Normally when you’re sponsored you’re supposed to declare it; this is actually against TH-cam tos

Do you know of an Android Automotive OS (AAOS) equivalent of this, ie. that doesn't need phone pairing?
I don't I'm afraid, I only intend to run it through my phone

Looking at the video introduction, Pro Bluetooth functionality is most likely via the device's microphone.
Yeszir jus switch to Bluetooth vehicle everything stays on
